The #1 Thing That Helps You To Consistently Attract Ideal Clients, In As Little As 1 Hour

Last week in my blog and video, I shared 3 things that prevent people from attracting clients on social media.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you can check it out here

Following on from that, this week I share the ONE main thing that exploded my business, which removes all 3 of these problems.

For the last 13 years I’ve been using this strategy, and it’s the one thing that helps me attract clients, be able to hold their attention and inspire them to take action.

To recap, here are the 3 things that prevent people from attracting clients on social media:

1 – Not Knowing How To Attract People

One of the main reasons people struggle to get clients is not knowing how to ATTRACT people.

Being able to attract people is crucial for growing your business consistently.

The brutal reality is that if you don’t effective attraction skills, you’re probably not going to stay in business very long.

The good news is, like any skill, the skill of being able to ATTRACT clients can be learned.

2 – Not Being Able To Hold People’s Attention

The second reason is not being able to hold their attention. They may get people to like a post, but they can’t hold the attention of people.

People move on fast if you don’t keep their attention. Attention is everything.

Social media is a great way to build connections and relationships, but it’s not a great place to keep people’s attention. It’s a noisy place with lots of distractions.

There is so much information you need to share to build connection and trust, but most people have a low attention span.

3 – Not Being Able To Inspire People To Take Action

The third reason people struggle to get clients is that they’re not sure how to inspire someone to take action.

This is where a lot of people fall down relying on social media to get clients.

A lot of people think that if they put up content posts with tips on Facebook and Instagram that they will get clients.

But it doesn’t often work that way. You also need to be able to inspire people to take action.

This is why I recommend running events. It’s the best way to get and maintain someone’s attention.

Running Events – The Number 1 Thing That Attracts Ideal Clients Consistently

Running events is like purchasing a ticket to a concert. People turn up and give you their attention for a long period of time, and that’s not possible with social media.

The fastest way to hold someone’s attention for the amount of time needed to build trust and rapport is by running an event.

It could be a free event like a webinar or workshop, online or in person. There’s no way to hold someone’s attention for long on social media or even by reading your blog that compares with running an event.

This is why big companies do live presentations. Like Steve Jobs did with the iPhone. Apple have billions of dollars and they could have marketed in other ways, but they chose to present their new product at a live event.

Learning to present so you can run events is directly related to how successful you’ll be in your business.

Presenting is a learned skill. If you’re not willing to learn the skill, you’ll most likely struggle to stay in business for long.

The problem is a lot of people are scared to learn it because of fear. Fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of people not showing up,  the fear of looking stupid, not having enough content and not being good enough.

For many years, I’ve encouraged people to run events and I sometime get resistance because of these fears.

If you were with me 14 years ago, you would have found yourself in a studio in a Les Mills gym in New Zealand where I was running a small seminar.

I was training for a bodybuilding competition at the time and learning a whole lot about muscle gain, supplements and protein.

So I went to my gym manager and asked if I can run an event and if she would help me market it.

I was so nervous and scared. I didn’t really know what I was doing. I didn’t know that I needed to structure the event,  how market it correctly, I didn’t really know anything!

I think back about it now and it wasn’t great… but this event positioned me as being different in the gym, because the other personal trainers weren’t doing it.

When you position yourself as a person that’s willing to overcome the fear of presenting, you put yourself ahead of others.

At the moment you don’t have to book a venue or organise food or any of that because we have this awesome technology like Zoom that you can use to run online events.

Running events is so much more powerful than doing Facebook Live videos

On a Facebook Live, there’s no buying behaviour happening. It’s entertaining and educational, but people aren’t looking to buy. There’s different psychology when people register for an event.

You don’t have to be a polished presenter. You can start with a 60-minute webinar – they are very doable. I started from scratch and learned from making mistakes and using trial and error…

When I came to Sydney, I started running little monthly meetup groups in my local library. About 20 people would show up every month. Some of them would go on to become clients and some of them would just keep coming month-to-month and they enjoyed the community.

Events have been the #1 thing that has helped me get booked solid with ideal clients.

One day I was sitting in an event listening to Benjamin J Harvey speak. I remember realising that my events were educating people, but I didn’t have a proper structure or formula. I was just downloading content to people.

I didn’t know how to use frames, the right content, language, or how to effectively influence people and keep their attention.

So I invested in a presenting course because I recognised the importance of it. Presenting is a skill that I want to develop for the rest of my life.

If you want to increase your positioning and your credibility as the authority in your sphere of influence, presenting and holding events is the way to do it. All of your presentations become valuable assets that you can use later.

Presenting is something that will differentiate you from your competition. It will allow you to build massive trust with people and it will help you hold people’s attention and build engagement.

I’ve done over 200 events now. If you saw my very first seminar back in that gym studio all those years ago, you would have seen that I wasn’t confident, I was worried, I had so much fear, I was insecure…

… but I’m so grateful to my past self for giving it a crack.

I’m so blessed that I’ve now had teachers that have taught me how to do it properly.

It gives me a lot of security and certainty to know that whenever I need to get clients, I know that I’ve developed the skill of being able to speak and present and this will always bring me clients.

That’s what I would love to help you with.

Since my wobbly ‘give it a crack’ start at the gym, I’ve been blessed to build a six-figure coaching business, working from home, mainly because of the power of running events.

This is why I decided to run an event where I teach you how to do it.

I’m packing the best of my learnings into one day, and I’ve decided to offer it completely free.

I’m going to be sharing my 7 pillars to profit from presenting, I’ll take you behind the scenes so you learn how to create and deliver really effective presentations, show you how to structure them, leverage your online events, facilitate great connections with people and ultimately, know exactly how to get new, ideal clients.

You can grab your free ticket here

Looking forward to seeing you there!

3 Powerful Online Marketing Methods To Build More Followers, Engagement & Trust

Would you like to know the fastest ways to build more followers, more engagement, and more trust? There are 3 powerful methods that I recommend if you want to attract more clients and build deep connections using online relationship marketing. These are the exact 3 marketing strategies that I used to… * Sell out my programs with my ideal clients that I love working with * Have a steady stream of consistent, quality clients, without the stress or confusion * Grow a 6-figure business as a full-time coach working from home In this video and blog, I unpack these methods and show you how you can get rapid results in your business using these 3 incredibly effective strategies. These take effort and consistency, but they work incredibly well and can catapult and accelerate your results. I call these the 3 online captivation weapons. Here they are:
1 – Compelling Content
The first captivation weapon is compelling content. To grow your business, you need to create consistent content that’s valuable and relevant to your ideal client. It’s the type of content that your ideal client really wants. Being consistent and constantly showing up and giving compelling content builds trust. People get to know you, like you and trust you. We do business with people who we like, who we can trust, and who we feel gets us. There are many people that have signed up with me as a client and said they just feel like I get them and speak their language. There are a lot of people who watched my business over time before they decided to work with me and this built trust due to the consistency. I never used to enjoy doing Facebook Lives. But I decided that I was going to do them consistently. There has to be a time where you get serious about your business and say, ‘I’m doing this and there is no ‘out.’  You have to decide to burn your bridges and go all-out in your business. When I first committed to consistency, I assumed that consistency was going to pay off, but I had no proof. Now, I do! The benefit of consistency is that you build trust with people who don’t know you. You’re not here today and gone tomorrow, you consistently show up because you want to help people. When you’re consistently showing up with compelling content, you get to teach people what you do and you get to teach people new things. Through that, they will realise if they’re a match for you. There’s a piece of research that was done recently where someone did a study that showed it takes seven hours of consuming content for people to make a significant buying decision. So if you’re reposting other people’s quotes, you’re not really building that trust through your own consistent content. You need to start increasing the time you are providing content. If you’re doing Facebook Lives, I encourage you to consider running a 60-minute Zoom event. If you’re already doing 60 minute events, up it to 90-minutes then 2 hours, then commit to running a half-day then a full-day workshop. Running online events and webinars with Zoom is one of the fastest ways to build up connections with people because when people book into an event, they’re more invested. I recommend that you do both written and video content. If you’re better at one than the other, then just start with the type of content you are good at, and you will grow as a content creator the more you do it. The more you put yourself out there doing videos, the less you will need notes, and the less nervous you will be. Video is the way of the future. It’s also the way of NOW. Putting out valuable video content builds your personal brand. You’ll get more people referring you as a go-to expert and you’ll be known as a reliable business owner. One of my clients wanted to build her business, so we worked together. She was so committed to putting out regular content. She kept showing up and she now has over 40,000 followers on Facebook and she got them really quickly! She was genuinely showing up and building her tribe and creating valuable, consistent content. This is the first powerful captivation method
 2 – Crafted Online Events
The second method is creating crafted online events. Events are about organising your knowledge and having actionable steps for people to follow. It’s structured and organised. You don’t have to be a great speaker. You don’t have to be an extrovert (I’m an introvert). You just have to have knowledge that can help people. Repetition is the mother of increasing your skills and it’s the same with running online events. They are so powerful as you can reach more people at one time. You can build rapport and connection with more people at one time by doing online events. It maximises and leverages your time. Every hour that you spend with someone, you could spend that same hour helping 50, 100, or 500+ people via an event. Doing online events allows you to educate people and inspire them. It can open so many new exciting doors of opportunity for you. If you’re willing to run an event, people often start inviting you to speak in their groups and you become known as the go-to expert. I suggested doing online events to one of my clients, Gaynor.  She literally laughed, as she didn’t know how she could find the time, as she had her business and was also a busy mum. I encouraged her to step out and when she did, her results were brilliant. Her first online event brought in $2,368. It was by no means perfect, but she still had people show up and get helped by it. Since using that online strategy she’s gone on to make over $25,000 and now she has an online course. She used to run retreats in the UK and now she’s taken everything online. She never thought she could do it, but she did! It takes work when you first start doing them and organising your knowledge, but the hard road gets easier and the easy road gets harder. Events are SO worth it!
3- Client Attraction Funnels
The third marketing method to build more followers, engagement and trust is to have a client attraction funnel. The thought of a client attraction funnel may freak you out, but they are actually simple once you know how to do it. A funnel is basically an automated way to turn strangers into clients. They are where people can sign up to your services 24/7. They may come across your post on a downloadable freebie that you created. They click to download the freebie and it takes them to a funnel landing page. A landing page is a simple one-page website. The people opt-in, they put their name and email in your funnel and they get your freebie to download. In return, you get their details. You capture people, get their information, and then you can continue to build a relationship with them. A lot of people get my emails and they don’t sign up straight away. But after nurturing them, they come to a point where they are ready to buy. A funnel could also be a landing page that leads people to your event. A funnel could also be a landing page that’s a freebie that people download and they go into your email list and nurture sequence. A nurture sequence is a series of emails that give more help and free gifts. Your ideal client will eventually work out if you are the right match to work with them. Only 3% of people are ready to buy immediately when they come across you. Others need more time to build that rapport with you. A funnel is a way for you to consistently build relationship. You share and give value through your funnel system. The right people will want to keep working with you. These are the people who see that you’ve sufficiently educated them and inspired them to actually take action. These skills are all learnable and at some point, if you want to be a successful business owner, you do need to learn these skills. Remember it’s all about just taking action, and it can be imperfect action. It’s about making a decision and going for it. Do you want help doing this so you can get more clients? I work together with people in the following areas: 1) Creating compelling content that converts I help you craft the right language to attract your ideal client, so the right people can immediately see what you’re all about and that your program is right for them. We also makeover your existing marketing and online presence and make sure your offer is irresistible. 2) Creating automated marketing funnels I help you create a 24/7 marketing machine that you can rely on and also massively frees up your time. You don’t need to be a tech expert, I hold your hand and walk through it every step of the way with you. 3) Creating profitable presentations We use my proven process to craft the right language that signs ups truly ideal, quality clients from your presentations. In order to be the best candidate to get results, you must have experience serving clients in your area of expertise and getting results, and already have a pretty clear idea of what problem you solve and who you enjoy helping the most. If you’re not sure if you meet this qualification, message me on Facebook or email me at info@katmillar.com and we’ll discuss it. You need to be willing to create content consistently, either writing and/or being on video and sharing your thoughts about the topics you’re an expert in. If you’re interested, get in touch and we will have a chat and see if you are a good fit. I look forward to chatting with you! Kat

3 Essential Skills For Getting Fully Booked With Clients

If you are a coach or service-based business owner, or you want to be, and if you want to get fully booked with paid clients that are going to pay you what you’re worth, you’re in the right place.

Over the years I’ve been so blessed to work with hundreds of business owners, and I’ve noticed there are 3 main problems entrepreneurs face when it comes to getting more clients.

The first problem is a lack of strategy.

When you don’t have a clear, effective strategy with actionable steps, that you’re doing on a day-to-day basis, it’s very hard to grow your business.

In my last blog, I shared how to create the right strategy. If you missed it, you can check it out here…

The second problem is a lack of skills, and that’s what I’m going to be sharing with you today.

The third problem I see is a lack of support.

Many entrepreneurs don’t realise the power of having a supportive community and a mentor. When they come up against roadblocks (which we always do in business, right!), they get stuck, discouraged and many businesses fail.

In this three-part series, I’m unpacking each of these three problems and how you can overcome them.

There are 3 essential skills that you need to have to attract the right clients – and not just any clients, but the right people for you who are going to pay you what you’re worth, and that you’re going to be able to help create breakthroughs and a brilliant transformation in their life.

I noticed that a lot of entrepreneurs, coaches, service-based business owners are really good at what they do.

For example, if you are a mindset coach you’re probably skilled at helping someone to release limiting beliefs, overcome fixed mindsets, and barriers.

If you’re a relationship coach, you’re probably skilled at helping someone overcome conflict and create a deeper connection.

If you’re a career coach, you’re probably skilled at helping someone find the right job for the.

But it doesn’t matter how good you are at these industry skills or at your craft, if you don’t have the right business skills, it’s like having half a business. And without these skills, you’re not going to make it in business.

There are 3 main skills you need to get more clients.

1 – Client Attraction Skills

The first skill is client attraction. There are a number of parts when it comes to marketing and being able to attract the right clients for you. Client attraction skills is about marketing specifically to get clients.

There is a difference between the way you market a service, compared to how you market a product.

So if you’re a coach or have a service and you’re selling time with you, or you’re selling your expertise as a subject matter expert, you’ve got to get good at marketing specifically for client attraction.

Content Creation

Getting really good at creating content is key. You’ve got to create valuable written and video content, and consistently provide value to your target market.

Are you consistently showing up and giving valuable, helpful, relevant content to your clients, at least once a week?

Are you regularly sharing valuable content on social media, on your website and on email?

There’s a saying in marketing “Don’t build on someone else’s land”.

What that means is don’t just try and build your business on social media. Social media is an amazing way to connect with people, to build rapport, to get people to know, like you and trust you.

Social media is about building relationships. It’s relationship marketing.

But you also need to be able to have your own land, which is your own website and your own email service provider.

You need to be sending out regular emails at least weekly, because email open rates are so much higher than you’ll ever get on social media unless you’ve got a massive budget to spend on Facebook ads.

It’s very unlikely you can build a really profitable, successful business just through social media. I don’t know a way to do it. And if you do figure out a way then let me know! But I’ve never seen it happen. Every successful business owner I know has a great email list.

Your email list doesn’t need to be massive,  but you need people who you can market to, nurture, look after, and give value to through email. You also need to be consistently posting on your website.

Copywriting

Copywriting is the words you use to attract clients. You need to develop the skill of copywriting, because copywriting is usually what is letting you down if your marketing is not working.

If you try to launch an online course, a webinar, or a freebie and it didn’t gain you clients, more than likely it’s because of the copy you used.

Your video skills don’t have to be perfect, but your copywriting has to speak to your ideal client. You need to hone your skill of copywriting and it’s so important that you know the language that your ideal client resonates with so that you connect with them.

You want people to read your writing and think, ‘It’s like they have been overhearing my conversations!’ You want to have so many conversations with people so that you understand how you can best help them.

Ask people what they’re struggling with, what roadblock they are encountering, and ask people how you can help them overcome their problems.

I coached hundreds and hundreds of people with so many free discovery sessions. I would pour my heart into people, even if they weren’t going to sign up with me, because of all that I learned.

The coaching experience was such a valuable experience. Doing these sessions helped me understand what people needed help with, and where I could come in and help them. These sessions helped me understand my target market’s language.

The best way to get good at copywriting is to do it and to follow other people who are great at writing copy.

I consume a lot of copywriting. I love reading Facebook ads, because someone is investing money into making sure the copywriting on those Facebook ads is good. If you scroll past Facebook ads and you just use Facebook for fun, it’s not going to help you grow your business.

You might want to create a file of Facebook ads. I do this on Evernote, an organisation system. I have created a file called ‘Facebook ads’ and I put a whole heap of Facebook ad wording in there, to get ideas to get better as a copywriter.

Communicating your value

You also need to get really good at communicating your value and influencing people to take action – through your written and video content.

It’s so important that you know how to effectively speak to your ideal clients’ frustrations, fears, dreams and desires and clearly articulate how you can help people.

2 – Sales Skills

The second skill is selling. Many people cringe when they hear the word sales and selling.

I used to as well – I thought sales people were pushy and I would avoid it. I thought of sales as having to try to convince someone to buy from me. I didn’t realise that there’s a way of selling that feels enjoyable for both people.

If what you offer people improves the quality of someone’s life, you are doing them a disservice not to share it with them.

After doing a sales course, something clicked in my head that I was thinking too much about myself and what others might think of me, rather than actually helping them.

I had to totally reframe what I understood sales to be.

I now see selling as service. Selling is helping. Selling is caring.

If you’re ethically and authentically helping someone improve their life, why would you not want to tell people about how you can help them?

Every time I’ve bought from a mentor or an expert, or I bought a course or some form of education, my life has improved. In fact, the return on investment that I’ve had in investing in education and coaching is unbelievable.

I love buying education. I love buying from coaches and mentors. That is what accelerates your growth and gives you rapid results. When I started investing lots of money, I got incredible results.

By buying education, I now don’t ever have to work for anyone ever again! That is a BEAUTIFUL thing.

I can work for myself at home. I can make a six-figure income, because I’ve invested in coaching and education. I could never repay those people for how much they’ve helped me.

When you think of sales like that, when you think of the things that you’re so grateful that you purchased, it makes you want to inspire people to buy.

The word sales can have connotations of an 80’s car salesman. If you have that feeling, it may help to reframe it and think of sales as inspiring people to buy.

Think of it as sharing your message so someone can breakthrough into a new place in their life.

Developing the skill of sales is extremely important if you want to make it in business. You’ve got to learn how to do it correctly and authentically and then practice it.

When you have the skill of being able to sell, you can make money anytime, anywhere and that’s priceless.

3 – Presenting Skills

The third skill I recommend that you develop in order to attract your ideal clients is the skill of presenting. The world has changed and people are realising how easy it is to build a business through being at home.

But to make it as a coach or service-provider, you’ve got to get good on video. You cannot hide behind words anymore. People want to connect with you.

It’s different if you’ve got a product you’re selling. People don’t necessarily need to connect with you as a person.

But if people are buying time with you, they want to see you and hear you.

How willing are you to put aside your self-consciousness and show up on video?

A lot of people aren’t willing to do this. They hide behind written words. They don’t jump on video. Or, they jump on video but they haven’t practiced. They haven’t organised their knowledge and they haven’t put their knowledge into clear, actionable steps.

And when it comes to video, people are watching to see how consistent you are at showing up.

The skill of presenting is learnable. You don’t have to be an extrovert. I’m not. You don’t have to be super confident either. You just have to believe in what you’re sharing. You have to know it’s true. You have to have done it yourself, so you share with authenticity and integrity.

You’ve got to be willing to present yourself, show up with confidence, and give value.

If you take the time to hone these skills, learn from an expert, keep growing, improving and showing up, there’s no reason why you can’t get fully booked with clients, make an incredible income and help so many people.

You’re building an asset and a legacy that will keep going and going, once you know how to attract clients, know how to inspire them to buy and know how to present.

The sky will be your limit and your income will have no ceiling.

Then you don’t have to rely on someone else paying you every single week. You can make your own money.

If you can stop being distracted by everything that you could be doing in business and start honing these three skills, you can make money fast.

Something I LOVE about entrepreneurship is that the playing field is equal for everyone. You don’t have to have a formal education. You don’t have to have been born in a certain generation that understands tech. You don’t have to be a ‘natural’ marketer, sales person or presenter. All of these skills are learnable for everyone.

If you want to develop these three skills, then I highly recommend that you join me next week on Facebook Live in my Amplify Your Influence group.

We will be talking about the third problem that most entrepreneurs make, which is not having the right support that is what accelerates your growth.

I will be unpacking how you can develop these skills in a free workshop that I’m holding on August 8th, 2020.

This is a new full-day online workshop. I will be showing you how to develop these skills, how to attract clients and I’ll also be giving you feedback on your own business, and helping you with where your gaps and your weaknesses are.

You’ll walk away with a clear marketing roadmap and you’ll also get my 5-step client attraction formula, with all the slides, the workbook, and resources.

The #1 Way To Get MORE Leads in LESS time

Do you want to know the best way to go to the next level with your business growth and income?

I’m about to show you the #1 way to get more leads that become paid clients, in less time and how you can earn a leveraged income.

First, I want to share with you what happened when I first moved to Sydney.

If you were with me in December 2012, you would have found yourself standing in a queue outside the Sydney Convention Centre, now known as the International Convention Centre.

I’d seen an ad on Facebook advertising Mike Tyson as their headline speaker, marketed as an entrepreneurial event.

I was wearing business attire and there were a whole lot of other business people in the queue also that looked to be 18-year-old dudes who were carrying their boxing gloves.

There were thousands of people there and there was speaker after speaker sharing on real estate and how to trade shares on Forex. By mid-afternoon, Mike Tyson still had not come out and people started to get annoyed and started to leave.

By late afternoon, the convention centre cleared out and there was hardly anyone left. But I stayed because I wanted to learn as much as I could. Two guys came on the stage called Jeffrey Slater and Kane Minkus, who had just been on tour with Tony Robbins.

They said they had a whole presentation planned, but because there were not many people left they were going to do a Q & A session instead.

They asked people to raise their hand if they had a question. My hand just went straight up in the air before I could even think.

Saying Yes to Opportunities

The mic runner ran up to me and I didn’t even have a question. I had trained myself to say yes to opportunities, and my hand went up without having anything to say. When he got to me, I stood up and I told them that I really wanted to be a speaker and I would love to have their advice.

They invited me to come onto the stage. I remember standing on the massive stage and they gave me the mic and asked me to share one piece of advice with the crowd.

Run at Your Fears

Sweating and nervous, I took the mic and said that my one piece of advice is to run at your fears because if you run away from them, they keep chasing you.

I’d recently moved countries from London, back to Auckland and then to Sydney. I had barely any money or friends in this new Country so I knew discomfort pretty well.

But I knew I wanted to be a speaker and I knew that I had to follow my heart and my dreams.

At that moment standing on the stage, I realised that speaking at the Sydney Convention Centre was on my vision board and had been there for eight years prior.

On that day, part of that dream was realised. I know I wasn’t the speaker on the day, but two years later I applied to be a speaker at the International Convention Centre for a fitness convention that I had attended many times.

I didn’t think I was qualified enough and I didn’t think I’d be accepted. But I was! In 2017, I spoke at the International Convention Center, and that was the dream coming true from my vision board.

When I stood up on stage the first time at the Mike Tyson conference, I was nervous, shaking and my face was bright red.  But in 2016, I was actually the speaker and I was calm and confident.

The Mike Tyson conference was the day that I realised I wanted to have a platform. It felt so good, even though it was nerve-wracking and I’m an introvert and struggle with being in the limelight.

I was doing a lot of one-to-one training and coaching at the time. But I realised that if you want to leverage your time and make a big impact, then one-to-one is just not going to cut it.

You cannot make a big impact if you’re only working one by one people.

If you want to leverage your time and speed up the process to grow your business, you need to be able to speak one-to- many.

Waking Up Your Identity

Success starts with waking up our identity.

One of my favourite speakers, Benjamin J Harvey talks about waking up your future belonging. It’s like an identity, where there’s a part of you that ‘wakes up’ and realises who you want to be.

That could be an author, a mother, a spiritual advisor, a teacher,  trainer, or an educator, for example.

In 2013, I was sitting in a visionary leadership conference with John DeMartini and Benjamin J Harvey. Again, my future belonging was awoken, as Ben as he said something that really stood out to me.

He said if you’re willing to get on a platform, (it doesn’t necessarily mean physically standing on a stage), but if you’re willing to do the hard thing that most people are not willing to do – public speaking – you separate yourself from your competition.

People on a Mission Have no Competition

If you’re willing to step out and face your fears of public speaking, and if you’re willing to talk about what you love and share your message with the world, you will stand out from your competition.

I definitely had a massive fear of speaking in public. I didn’t even think that I would be able to speak to a room of 10 people in a group workshop, let alone a massive group.

When Ben Harvey shared the impact that you can make from going from a one-to-one model to a one-to-many model, it awakened something inside of me. Instead of thinking “Who am I to do that?” I started to believe “Why not me?”

Why not me? Why could I not do that?

When Ben asked if there were people who wanted to make that change in their business, I put my hand straight up. I put the $495 deposit down for their ‘Present Like a Pro” course, which cost $5,000 at the time.

I didn’t have the money. I had rent coming up, but I found the money. You always find the money for things that are important.

I’ve well and truly made that money back now – I’ve turned that $5,000 into a six-figure coaching business, doing what I love, using mostly the one-to-many model.

The Power of Presenting

The one-to-many model is the #1 way to get more leads in less time.

Running events is an amazing way to get clients and a great way to improve your credibility, improve your expert status, and to leverage your time.

And now it’s super easy to do it online.

I resisted doing this as a consistent strategy for ages. But when I finally made a decision and take action, it turned my business around. I’ve now run over 100 online events and 100 in-person events and it’s been the one thing that has made the biggest difference in growing my clients.

If you run an online event, you can speak to 50 or 100 people during that time, instead of speaking to people one at a time.

Running events speeds up the time it’s going to take to reach that many people. If you want to accelerate your success, it’s a no-brainer.

The reason many of us have avoided events for so long is because of fear.

It could be fear of what people might think or fear of failure, fear of judgment, fear of being an imposter, or fear of not knowing enough.

When you decide to show up, despite the fear and when you decide to be the kind of person that does a one-to-many model, rather than a one-to-one model, and you provide great value, success is inevitable.

You can really accelerate and explode your business growth.

I’ve had a growth explosion during COVID-19. I was doing mainly in-person workshops, but I pivoted fast and started doing online workshops.

Holding online events means people from other states and countries can attend.

I recently did a Grace Lever online event that 700 women from all over the world attended and it was brilliant.

I also crewed an Authentic Education online presentation course and coaching course, and 79% of the people said they preferred the online environment, which I found fascinating.

Leverage Your Time, Speed Up Results, Get More Leads and Paid Clients

The one-to-many model is the best way to leverage your time, speed up your results, get more leads and paying clients in a short amount of time.

I’m sure you would love to be able to share a message talking about something you love and have lots of people listen to it. It’s a great way to make money when talking about what you love.

If you want to get clients, you can really only do two things: You can write and get people through your written content, or you can speak and get people through your spoken content, whether that be on video or on audio.

You’re not going to build a business if you don’t create content. Business is about people exchanging value to get a return of investment. So many business people are unwilling to face their fears and step up to make content.

It’s a step-by-step process. You need to learn the skill of presenting, learn to talk on Facebook Lives, and learn the skill of creating influential content.

You can’t just show up and ramble your way through an event. There is a formula and a specific structure you need to follow to make sure that people engage and get value from what you’re sharing.

There’s also a structure to getting them to turn up to your event, which is the first hurdle and that’s where you use marketing.

I predominantly teach my clients marketing and sales, both in written content and in presenting at live or online events and workshops.

You’ve also got to be able to keep them engaged and make sure that they are inspired to take action. It’s about inspiring people to be able to go out there and apply what they’ve learned and that takes a specific structure and formula.

If you’re willing to step up and do the one-to-many, you can leverage your time and build your business quickly.

5 Powerful Ways To Be Engaging And Effective On Video

Would you agree that it’s pretty important in this day and age to be effective and engaging on video?

Have you noticed that there are some people who are charismatic on camera, and there are some other people who are boring, and cause you to switch off straight away?

Have you seen people who have great knowledge to share, but don’t deliver the content well?

Right now so many people are online, more than ever before in history!

So it’s even more crucial that you have the ability to be able to show up on camera confidently and be able to connect with people, fast.

Do you want to be able to show up and be able to connect with people super effectively  on video?

Would you like to create a better connection with your audience so you can build rapport with them and influence and serve them better?

In this video and article, I share with you 5 powerful ways to be engaging and effective in your videos.

1 – Speak to Your Ideal Client

It’s so important that when you’re sharing on video, that you speak to your ideal client.

The reason that so many people get nervous, is because they try and talk to everyone. They’re talking to the masses.

Right now, for example, I’m not talking to the masses, I’m talking to my community. You have chosen to read this if you’re an entrepreneur or you want to be an entrepreneur.

So that means I don’t have to get nervous and fearful because I know that I’m speaking to you, one person at a time.

I know that you want to hear what I’m talking about otherwise, you wouldn’t be reading this!

So, it’s so important when you’re sharing a piece of content that you don’t get worried about what people might think and that you’re not trying to speak to everyone.

If you try to speak to everyone you miss everyone, and no one connects with you.

It’s so crucial that you use the right language that’s going to connect with that person so that they feel like you understand them, that you understand the problems and challenges they are facing.

Many people struggle to do Facebook Lives, so if that’s you, you’re not alone – you are among the many people who struggle.

I definitely struggled when I first started. I resisted doing them for some time because of fear. Our bodies do interesting things when we are nervous and fearful, but it’s the meaning we put to it that determines our body reactions.

Being nervous is a similar physiological effect to being excited.

So instead of saying to yourself “I’m scared” or “I’m nervous”, tell yourself that you’re expanding. You’re growing, you’re stepping out of your comfort zone – and this is exciting. It’s an amazing way of developing your self-worth.

Make sure that you keep showing up and proving to your brain that you’re fine. No one died and nothing dangerous happened!

2 –  Aim to Be Professional and Personable, Not Perfect

You want to be professional. By professional I mean, be organised, structure your knowledge, make sure that you have it set out in an organised way.

Have 3, 5 or 7 points. Our brain loves odd numbers and it’s been proven by research. If in doubt go with 3 points! The brain loves that number 3 as it feels like completion.

Make sure that you show up in a way that’s beneficial to your viewers and that’s what I mean by being professional. You do not need to be super polished and perfect. In fact, the time that you do a perfect Facebook Live, it may well be a boring one!

The things that go wrong last minute, make you human and real. Make sure that you’re personable, friendly, tell stories, and be humble. Don’t try and show that you’ve got it all together. People can relate to you not being perfect.

Make sure that your content is digestible for people, so it feels easy to apply. Don’t use a lot of jargon or confusing words. People want simple, real, authentic and they want it to be personable so they can relate.

3 – Maintain a Quality Connection

There are 3 main problems that I see that people come up against when doing a live video when it comes to maintaining a quality connection with their ideal clients.

1 – I notice people don’t use a formula or structure, so people are winging it and go off on tangents, losing their connection with the viewer.

2 – People focus on themselves and not on their message. People are concerned about how they look or are coming across instead of being present. Not being present when speaking to people is a big way to lose connection.

3 – People don’t know how to effectively maintain a quality connection with people on video. To maintain a connection, be sure that your camera is set up at eye level so you are looking eye-to-eye with your viewer. Make sure you look into the lens.

Finally, don’t use notes. Trust yourself that you know your content and stick to your genius zone.

4 – Speak Within Your Genius Zone

Make sure that you are speaking about topics that you understand and that you are an expert. This will help you with not needing to use notes. Always stick within your genius zone.

Don’t be researching, an hour before you’re about to go on Facebook Live and reading everyone else’s stuff. Stick to speaking about your real-world, tangible results and talk about the things that you’re the expert at.

Don’t just state facts and information. People can get information from Google. They are showing up to listen to you on video because you have personality. You have different ways of saying things, stories you can talk about and share with people what’s in it for them.

3 really powerful words you can use that are simple little words that make a huge difference is ‘so you can’.

If you add ‘so you can’ to the end of your content and insert the benefits your clients will achieve, suddenly your content comes to life.

An example of this is saying, ‘Do you want to show up effectively on video so you can be the trusted expert in your field?’ ‘So you can’ raises your level of positioning in your client’s mind.

I’m also clear on the benefits of what I do as a business coach. I’m not afraid to talk about those benefits, because I’ve worked with hundreds of people that have had life-changing results.

You’ve got to be confident in your benefits and don’t just talk about the features of your coaching program. Talk about what’s in it for them and why they should invest this money and time into your coaching program.

Finally, have fun, smile, and enjoy it.

How do you feel when someone’s super serious and rigid, like they’re giving a university lecture?

You lose interest right away, right?

So smiling, and having fun helps build and hold a connection with people.

5 –  Follow a Formula

Following a formula allows you to build a deeper connection because you won’t be going off on tangents, trying to think about what to say.

Instead, you’ll feel organised and structured, speaking with a framework. You can be intuitive within the framework, but you don’t want to just rock up and rely on your intuition to tell you what to say without any planning or organisation.

The best speakers in the world all follow a formula. They are not just winging it. If you think of the best speeches you’ve ever watched or some of your favourite speakers, they have practiced and rehearsed it following a structured formula.

When you’ve practiced, created a great structure, you’ve got your points and you really know your topic well, you can be more intuitive and it will come across natural and will flow.

If you don’t have that structure or formula, that’s where you get nervous and can ramble.

So it can help to have the values, benefits and plan in your mind when you’re delivering a piece of content.

Would you like to learn the full presenting formula that I use and teach, so you can grow your business?

I’m running a workshop on Saturday 4th July that will show you how to use online events to profit from presenting and make a bigger difference in the world.

In this workshop, you’ll pick up the tools that you can use to run effective online workshops….

…so you can not only be successful in your presentation, but get people to show up, engage and take action.

I’ll be going through all of the strategies that I’ve used to not only present effectively, but how to use online events to attract clients and build your business.
