How To Get More Clients From Your Social Media

If you’re a business owner, the main purpose of sharing content on social media is to attract people who not only engage with your content, but are excited to sign up for your services.

Investing time and effort into crafting content, without getting clients from it can feel discouraging.

Believe me, I get it.

But with the right strategy, you can get clients consistently from social media.

And you don’t need to…

➡️ Be constantly hanging out in Facebook groups

➡️ Post every day

➡️ Have a huge audience

➡️ Get loads of likes and comments on every post

➡️ Be on every social media platform

The truth is, you can create a successful coaching business WITHOUT any of these things. ❤️

What you need instead is a compelling content strategy that accelerates the connection and trust with your audience.

That’s how you become a Coach that people want to work with.

If you don’t know how to turn your social media followers into coaching clients…

1. You waste so much time creating content that doesn’t get any results

2. You feel like you’re a failure when you’re not

3. You don’t reach the right people who need your services – so you don’t more clients and grow your business

The online business world is changing so fast with more and more people becoming coaches and heading online to do business.

That means, that we as coaches need to level up the way we engage with our audience, communicate our value, and create our online content.

To get more clients from your social media, your content needs to be compelling. It needs to repel the wrong people, and compel the right people.

Access the video here:

If you get this right…

1. Your audience will grow with raving fans that love you

2. More people will reach out to you in your DM’s and emails who are interested in what you do

3. You’ll attract more soul mate clients fast and consistently

So how do we do this?

Here are 5 powerful ways you can create more compelling content so you can get more clients from your social media.

1. Speak more about outcomes than methods

A big mistake that people make on social media is speaking too much about the methods or the processes of what they do in their marketing.

Marketing should focus more on the outcome. Sell the dream.

For example – if you’re a health coach, sharing too many details about the specific foods to eat or avoid.

Or the specific exercises to do.

Rather than focusing on how good someone will feel to have a flat stomach.

Giving away your method and process secrets makes it too obvious and makes you come across less valuable.

It’s also very important to share – WHY your value is important for them to know

It’s more that tips and tricks.

You can still share valuable content – but focus on inspiring someone to want to change – rather than telling them what to do.

For example –

If you’re a business coach that teaches how to run Facebook ads, in your free marketing, don’t share too much about the technicalities of what to specifically do in Facebook ads.

Share content that shifts someone’s incorrect belief about ads to why ads are so powerful.

They need to pay for the steps on how to personally make it work for them in their business.

2. Build trust with evidence, education, and experience

Anyone can open up an IG account now – it doesn’t make you an expert. We can’t assume that people know that they can trust us. We need to prove it.

It’s not a reliable strategy to just know that you’re trustworthy.

Drop a y for yes if you think of yourself as a trustworthy person?

Most people do, right?

But it’s not enough. You have to take it an extra step.

You have to be intentional SHOW you’re trustworthy in the marketplace.

This is a completely different thing.

It’s only if we are PERCEIVED as trustworthy that people want to work with us.

We can show we’re trustworthy to the marketplace by positioning ourselves as an expert in their minds.

I recommend you do this by sharing 3 E’s consistently:

Experience
Evidence
Education

We can’t just say ‘Do this, do that’

We need to back it up and support what we’re saying.

That’s how you build trust.

3. Use your content to shift beliefs

If you want to turn your followers into coaching clients, you need to shift beliefs using your content.

You might be wondering – how do I do that?

Belief-Shifting Content shifts someone’s specific belief about your topic – their perception, their way of thinking.

It could be the true cause of their problem…

…what they’re currently doing to solve their problem…

or what they need to do to solve their problem.

For example – A lot of coaches believe – “If I just keep doing what I’m doing, eventually it will work”

Whereas I want to show them a better way.

Or they might believe they need to create MORE content. When the truth is, the best results come from changing the way you create content – what you say and how you say it.

A lot of people have the misconception that valuable content is giving tips.

Value is so much more than tips. Value is when someone sees something differently.

It’s when they get a new perspective on something.

We show them that we have what it takes to fill the gap between where they are and where they want to be.

The coaches who take the time to do this and don’t just post for posting sake…

…but are strategic in their social media are the ones who get clients.

This is about taking the time to craft well-thought out, well-worded content.

A lot of people aren’t doing that.

They don’t want to spend the time on it, or they don’t know how to do it.

When you understand the driving forces of your ideal clients – their frustrations, fears, dreams and desires – your content needs to reflect that.

If people aren’t taking action on your content, there’s one thing you can do that will change that. It’s to shift beliefs.

If people need what you offer and have the resources to buy it, there’s typically only one reason they’re not responding to your content or reaching out to work with you.

It’s because they don’t yet believe they can get the result that you offer.

That’s why we need to shift beliefs using our content.

4. Be opinionated

Sharing your opinion can really help you show the difference between you and others.

Think about why people should listen to YOU over someone else who does what you do.

What do you always say to your friends or peers about your topic?

What messages do you want to repeat?

Share what you stand for and stand against.

This positions you as a leader

It compels the right people and repels the wrong people.

Share your values and beliefs and perspectives on things.

If you have factual data and evidence supporting what you’re saying, it will be much more powerful. Go all in.

Some people call this being contrarian.

The meaning of contrarian is – “a person who takes a contrary position, or a person who opposes or rejects popular opinion.”

Show why your approach is different and why it works better.

For example, I often share that if you’re a coach and you don’t have thousands of followers, right now you probably don’t need to be doing influencer-style marketing where you’re sharing about your life constantly.

We’ve got to be so careful with what we’re influenced by and weigh it up based on the stage we’re at in our business journey.

There are loads of strategies that gurus are recommending that can be very distracting and suck a lot of unnecessary time based on where you’re at in your business journey right now.

For example:

Posting Instagram stories 3-5x a day
Sending Cold DM’s
Hiring an appointment setter to book calls for you
Getting PR or media exposure
Sharing a Reel every day
Advertising on other people’s websites
Having other people’s advertising on your website
Writing a book
Trying to go viral
Creating a podcast
Sharing on Pinterest

There – that was an example of being opinionated.

Think about how you can show more contrast in your business.

What are you teaching NOT to do? What are you standing against?

5. Move people along the client journey

We want to encourage people not to just be passive consumers, but action-takers as a result of what they read or watch from us.

If our content doesn’t inspire people to take action, then it’s not influencing them to move along the client journey.

There should always be a next step.

A lot of opportunities are missed by not inviting an action step at the end of your content.

I love what Denise Duffield Thomas says in her book ‘Chillpreneur’ – “Be consistent. Share what you know and make offers.”

Simple.

Most of your pieces of content should inspire action.

Otherwise, they could just be nice thoughts or interesting information, which can add to the noise.

Every content piece should be chipping away at the limiting beliefs or the resistance or the blocks people have to taking action.

Your content strategy is a series of pieces of content that do that.

It’s about building trust, nurturing, and supporting people.

When you know how to create content that people want to consume…

* You impact more lives

* More people reach out who want to work with you

* Your content turns your followers into your clients

So how do you create a system that gets you amazing clients on repeat – predictably and reliably?

The Annual Business Success Planner

A lot of people start dreaming about what they want for the following year.

But so many times it ends there. They don’t plan how to make it happen.

Without a plan, many dreams die.

With the planning I do with my clients, we turn dreams into tangible actions so we actually achieve them.

If you want your business to grow month after month next year…we’ve got some planning to do.

If you’re thinking…“Kat, I’m not good at planning.”

I get it. Neither was I.

My sister Vicki (the most future-focused person I know) once said to me “What do you imagine for next year?”

I was embarrassed to admit it.

I hadn’t imagined anything.

Let alone planned for it.

I realised I didn’t have a process for planning.

So what did we do? We started planning my next year.

It CHANGED my year. And my life!

Being able to dream and plan your year out in one go…

…then spending the next year just doing what you planned… it’s very freeing.

You feel in FULL control over your year.

But it took a change of mindset.

A mindset of planning how to achieve what I want and being intentional to create it.

Rather than “seeing what happens”

And it was worth it.

Now, I want to help you do the same.

Because planning is like laying out a pathway for 2023.

The moment you come back from your holiday break, you just get back on the path and keep going.

You don’t lose momentum.

Talking about this gets me so EXCITED for next year!

If planning feels like an overwhelming task to you… I’ve got you.

In this video I share:

The Annual Success Planner

It’s a 5 step framework to help you map out your business dreams, goals, and actions.

You can check out the video here…
The annual business success planner

Here’s the Annual Success Planner Framework:

1. Dream

This is a ‘WHAT you want’ list, not HOW you’re going to get it. Consider what you want to achieve, be, do, have, eliminate, reduce, and improve.

Include personal dreams in this list that affect your business – YOU are the most important asset in your business!

Here are 3 great questions that can help you with this process:

  • What would I do in my business if I knew I could not fail?
  • What would I do if I had all the time and resources I needed?

What would I do if I had all the courage and self-belief I needed?

2. Goals

Turn your dreams into goals. There are no rules on how many goals you set.

Choose what feels both inspiring and doable for you.

Some of the things you want don’t have a time frame, because they are habits. These goals don’t have an end time frame.

Results goals typically are achievements and have an end date (like publishing a book.)

For each goal, write down why it’s important to you. This will strengthen your desire to achieve the goal when the going gets tough.

Having compelling reasons why you want to achieve your goals helps you pursue them, and it’s a good way to check they’re aligned with your values.

3. How

These are the things you need to do specifically to make your goals happen.

Here are a few examples:

  • Be consistent in my content creation
  • Create a new lead magnet every quarter
  • Have daily conversations with ideal clients
  • Run a workshop every quarter

4. Action Plan

Now it’s time to create milestones and single action steps so you know exactly what to do next!

Things to consider:

  • What are the resources you need to achieve the goal?
  • What systems will support the goals?
  • Am I covering all areas of business?
For example content creation, community, website, email, video, social media, finances, processes & systems, team, skill development and so on.

Example Action Plan

1. What is your #1 desired outcome for the next 30-90 days?

Get 10 new coaching clients

2. What is 1 goal to achieve this outcome?

Run a workshop

5. Review

It’s unlikely your plan is going to be perfect the first time you write it, so block out time in your calendar to REGULARLY revisit your goals and plan.

Make sure your calendar includes actions that lead to your goals.

Read through this planner and make any notes and changes to your goal list and action plan and adjust any times in your calendar to do the actions.

Progression is the goal, not perfection.

You will experience setbacks and that’s ok. Relax, smile, and keep going.

I hope this has been super helpful for you.

How To Create A 6-Figure Coaching Business (Without Doing ‘All The Things’)

What does it really take to grow a 6-figure coaching business?

If you’ve been coaching for a while, you’re probably a great coach. But if you want to create a six-figure coaching business, the question to ask is… is being a great coach enough to get you reliable, consistent clients?

In theory, anyone can become a coach. Coaching is generally the easier part. It’s the business of coaching that’s more complex.

The successful coaches I know (myself included) have created success predominately because of our business skills. Understanding the business side is what makes a difference between making it or not making it as a business owner.

I know I’m a great coach. But that’s not the main reason I grew my business to earn 6 figures annually. It happened because I got as good at business as I am at coaching. And because I am, I can help WAY more people.

So I’m going to share some of the mistakes I made and also the common mistakes I see coaches making.

Successful coaches have mastered the art and science of marketing and selling.

You might be thinking that you don’t like sales or marketing. Or you may not want to come across as pushy.

I get it. But here’s the good news.

To become a 6-figure coach, you don’t need to be an expert marketer, do cold pitching, chase people or hustle… You don’t need run ads or even have a website!

You certainly don’t need to work longer hours, grunting and grinding away on things you don’t enjoy. Otherwise, you can burn out & become a slave to your business.

But you DO need to take the things off your to-do list that aren’t moving the needle forward and focus on doing the right things.

If you want to generate a consistent flow of quality leads you need a proven strategy…

…so you can finally stop the frustration of wondering where your clients are going to come from… and start consistently earning 10k+ per month, reliably and predictably.

After being in business for 18 years and trying so many different things, I’ve discovered there are just 5 things you need to focus on to grow your coaching business to six figures.

1 – Design A Client Attraction Strategy

The first thing you need is a strategy to attract your ideal clients consistently. For this attraction phase to work, you’ve got to remember that people buy for their reasons, not yours.

When I started out in business, I was a personal trainer, then a health coach, a mindset coach.

When I decided to become a business coach, I didn’t want to let go of all this knowledge I had acquired in these other areas. I tried to position myself to do way too many things, and it just didn’t work.

Choosing a focused niche may feel like you are closing doors, but the truth is many more doors will open to the right people.

When I chose to become more focused on a niche, it closed doors to some potential clients, but it opened doors to way more people and opportunities. Having a clear niche can activate a fear of missing out, and fear and worry that you may not get enough clients.

The coolest thing is when you step into the specificity of a niche, it helps convey to people specifically how you help them, which actually draws MORE people to you. It helps you to elaborate on a clear problem that you solve.

Being vague and non-specific does not work, especially in the attraction phase. If you want to level up your business to 6 figures, you need to have the willingness to solve a clear specific problem.

To do this means really stepping up in terms of the way you view yourself and position yourself as an expert and authority. It does require a level of courage to do this, especially if you are not feeling that confident yet.

A lot of coaches are creating content when they don’t have clarity on the problem they solve… and they are wondering why it’s not working for them. The lack of clarity will reflect on your marketing, and how you’re creating your content.

Once you make the decision to niche (even if you’re worried about it), you will find people respond better, because you are being clear on the specific problem you help people with and the way you journey people to the solution.

2 – Craft A Profitable Presentation

The next thing you need to do to consistently hit six figures, is to craft a profitable presentation. A profitable presentation is a very powerful asset.

Written content is important. But for most coaches, written content alone, like blogs, emails, and social media captions rarely is enough to attract clients consistently.

Written content alone doesn’t always inspire and influence someone to make a decision to work with you.  Unless you’re a really great writer, written content does a poor job of converting people consistently.

If you want people to trust you, you need time with them. In order to build trust, you need to ask for time, however long it takes for people to go from cold to sold.

The reason people give you time is that you offer to educate them. Otherwise how else are you going to get their time?

It’s very challenging to get more than 60 minutes of someone’s time on social media. So an online event is a win/ win scenario for both you and the person attending your online event.

To take someone from cold to sold, you must build trust and building trust requires someone having time with you.

You ask them to give you their time, and in return, you’ll give them education for free.

During this time with them, you’re building trust and showing them how you help people.

The most powerful strategy I’ve discovered for attracting clients is to combine great content with a great presentation.

Having an effective presentation:

  1. Keeps people’s attention
  2. Creates more trust
  3. Positions you as an authority
  4. Helps you overcome people’s false beliefs
  5. Inspires people to take action
  6. Is highly leveraged to save you time
  7. Builds your email list

Doing just one-on-one coaching doesn’t give you that leverage. When you’re willing to get on a platform, even if it’s a platform like Zoom online, immediately your authority level goes up.

In an online event Zoom event, you have time to shift people’s beliefs and objections to buying.

Rather than having 50 sales conversations which would take 50 hours of your time, you can have that same value speaking to 50 people all at once. Can you see how leveraged having a profitable presentation is?

It’s challenging to just keep doing one-on-one coaching and get to 6 figures annually. The fastest way to do it is by having a combination of having a profitable presentation and compelling content.

3 – Create Compelling Content

You can have an incredible program or service, but without compelling content, it’s like having a Porsche but leaving it in your garage. You won’t get very far.

The marketplace has shifted to be more education-based and the cool thing about this new marketplace is that if you enjoy teaching, training, and educating people, you’re in a good position to inspire people to take action.

People don’t really care about your product or program. They just want to know that you’re able to give them what they desire, and this is where you can show them that you’re the expert and you do this through educating them with your content.

You also do this by using your content to shift their beliefs. Your content needs to clearly show someone what you recommend in order to get from Point A to Point B. Which you’ll notice is what I’m doing right now in this blog.

Use your content to shift beliefs in your ideal clients from what they currently believe to what you want them to believe and educating them is key to this.

When you take the time to educate your clients, it can really dramatically shift your business.

When you create consistent content, you’re educating people on why you’re different. You’re also changing their beliefs from what they currently believe, to what you want them to believe. And you do this in order to have them take that next step to work with you.

Not doing this was a massive mistake that I made. (I made mistakes in all the 5 areas that I’m talking about today!)

I didn’t realise you need a formula and strategy to create compelling content that inspires action. I used to just wing it.

I would literally just write a blog, without having any structure or any formula.

I’d just show up and throw up (as they say.) I’d do Facebook Live videos that didn’t have a plan or proper structure.

The purpose of your content is to educate people and inspire them to take action.

4 – Build An Automated Funnel

When you’re building a coaching business to 6-figures, there are two distinct paths you can go down.

One is working manually, which means you just keeping up as best as you can with your never-ending to-do list.

Or, you can choose the second path, which is building a funnel, which is an asset.

A funnel is a path that people go through where they come into your email list by putting their name and email to access free content. You then take them through a process of nurturing them until they know, like, and trust you and then if they’re the right match, invite them to become your paid client.

This is what so many of your competitors are not doing because it takes some thought and learning, which can be scary or overwhelming. But it’s one of the most powerful ways to have a sustainable, successful business.

What so many coaches do is start their business manually, which is how most of us start out, but then they attempt for the rest of the business’s life to keep running it manually.

Using funnels to automate your business equals freedom.

If you haven’t already decided, please decide that you’re going to stop running your business manually.

Automation equals freedom.

This makes a huge difference in terms of the financial capacity and lifestyle your business can bring you. Rather than consuming and reacting, you create and build a profitable, scalable asset.

Because I know how to create funnels, I can be out running, get an idea, come home and have a funnel up online within a few hours.

It’s incredible because you can build a funnel that generates a lot of income without doing a lot of work.

If you don’t have an automated funnel in place, there’s only so far you can go.  Everything is capped. Your sales, your profit, your growth, your lifestyle – everything is limited.

Some people think it looks too hard, but what’s worse? Running a business that sucks the life and soul out of you, because you’re so stressed out and doing everything manually? Or taking the time to upskill and automate your business?

I use ClickFunnels for this, as I’ve found it’s one of the best landing page builders and funnel builders in the world, and I trust it. I’ve had people say to me they don’t want to pay for a subscription, but all you need to do is have one client and that pays for a whole year’s subscription.

I’ve got 20 different funnels working for me. I have webinar funnels, lead magnets, and my online courses hosted there also. This gives me so much freedom.

I love taking time to have holidays. I bought a timeshare over 10 years ago and if I didn’t have funnels in place, I wouldn’t be able to take so many holidays.

To me, taking the time to set up automation is a no-brainer. When you have a funnel in place, you no longer have peaks and troughs leaving money on the table.

But, when you build an automated funnel, you have the capacity to generate a consistent lead flow.

5 – Develop A High-Performance Mindset

To create a successful coaching business … and by success, I’m talking about a business that fills your bank account and your soul… you need to develop a high-performance mindset.

You have to constantly level up your mindset. A high-performance mindset is focused on taking charge of your life and business. It’s about being a leader.

You can’t wait for a miracle, a sign, a rescuer, or a lucky break. You have to create it yourself. It starts with being intentional about what you want from your life and then building your business around that.

It’s really important that you figure out what you want in your ideal life, and then take actions towards making that come true. From there, you can put the proper structures in place.

You can’t wait for a rescuer or a lucky break. You have to create your opportunities yourself and that starts with being intentional.

Structures create outcomes.

Having structures like systems, strategy, and support in place is what builds a sustainable business around your vision.

Hustling 16 hours a day might sound impressive, but it’s not healthy. Manageability is crucial. And this always starts with your mindset.

When I started out, I acted like I was a 6-figure business owner before I had the money in the bank. I believed so deeply that it would happen for me, and because of that, I was able to step into the mindset of a 6-figure business owner and take action as they would.

Back then when I made investments, hired team members, or made any major decisions around my business, I always asked myself what would a 6-figure business owner do?  Then I did that.

This meant never accepting anything less than everything I want.

A high-performance mindset is willing to take risks. It’s an abundance mindset. It’s charging what you’re worth, not allowing yourself to stress out about money, and knowing that there are always clients.

You have to believe that you’re going to find a way to make things work.  You can’t play safe or be timid. You’ve got to make quick decisions and put yourself out there.

I see so many Facebook groups where people are saying they are looking for someone to contribute to their book or to speak at events. There will be hundreds of people putting their hand up, and I wonder why these people aren’t putting out their own books and sharing their knowledge in their own events.

It’s not that hard to do. It’s just about being willing to do it.

You’ve got to take risks. You’ve got to know your ‘why’. It’s about deciding specifically who you want to serve, how you want to spend your time (based on what you enjoy), and how you want your business to feel.

I fully trust in my work ethic, I trust myself and back myself.

I know that I’m going to make a way, even if there does not look like there is a way. I’m going to find a way to make things work. I don’t play safe. I’m not afraid to put myself out there, even though I don’t always feel confident.

That’s what high-performance business owners do.

When you get off the merry-go-round of chasing quick fixes, and step from a place of scarcity into an abundance mindset, you will create something truly great in this world.

In order to go faster, sometimes we need to slow down and learn a different way of doing things.

Would you like to dive deep into each of these 5 strategies and find out exactly how to apply them in your business?

3 Things Your Social Media Posts Must Have To Attract New Clients

Are your social media posts attracting the clients you’re hoping for?

If you want to grow your business to $10k+ months consistently, knowing how to craft content that connects with your ideal clients is essential.

You need to understand the principles to gain and MAINTAIN people’s attention, so you can inspire and influence the right people to work with you.

Have you ever wondered what makes a post a MUST-read, not a ‘nice-to-read?’

Over the last 5+ years helping coaches, consultants, and experts to create compelling content, I’ve discovered there are 3 main things that need to go into social media posts to attract quality clients.

This is a major piece of what I do as a business coach: helping people to create content that not only gains attention but MAINTAINS attention so that people want to take action on what you’re sharing and be inspired to work with you.

When you include these 3 elements into your content in the right way, your content PULLS the right people to your posts, and attracts clients to you CONSISTENTLY, without you having to pay for ads.

You can apply these elements in your content straight away to be seen as an authority, sign up more clients, and finally make the money you deserve!

You can use these principles on video as well as in written content, including blogs and emails.

The 3 main issues I’ve discovered that stop people’s social posts from connecting with ideal clients are:

  1. Not enough credibility
  2. Not creating a mindset shift
  3. Being too vague

So how do you overcome these problems? Here are 3 powerful ways…

1 – Authority Positioning

Content with very little (if any) authority is an issue I see all the time.

This is where people post tips or ‘how-to’ teaching, but don’t come from a place of sharing their own credibility and experience.

Positioning yourself as an authority builds trust and credibility.

If you don’t position yourself as an authority, people won’t value you.

In order to position yourself as an expert, it’s important that you don’t just give tips, because anyone can Google information. What you need to do is ‘move’ a person when they consume your content. Inspire and influence them to act.

You can up-level your positioning by giving case studies, testimonials, and sharing from your own life.

A lot of people resist positioning themselves as an authority and expert because they have fear around it.

One of the biggest problems people have when it comes to positioning is that they’re not confident in making bold statements, asking bold questions, and being boldly niched.

Being boldly niched is really important because when you niche down and become micro niched, this is when you will find your ideal clients.

Sharing your credibility and presenting yourself as an authority is key to having people listen to you.

A lot of people struggle with imposter syndrome and not feeling good enough to present themself as an authority. It’s a massive mindset issue that can take you out of business.

You need to get over this fear of not wanting to position yourself as an authority. It doesn’t take long to fix this issue. I’ve had people clear this in as little as one session with me.

Obviously, there are layers to this issue and you need to go to the root cause and clear that limiting belief.

This invaribly pops up when you are wanting to go to the next level.

If you want to go from a startup to 5K months, your mindset around this might create a ceiling for you to keep you ‘safe’.

If you want to go from 10K months to 20K months, then you must address the limiting beliefs you have to get you to the next level.

Remember, when you’re positioning yourself as an authority, you can’t guarantee that someone will make what you are claiming, cecause each situation is different. The person has to do the work, be committed, and work towards an outcome. If they do the steps you advise and put in the work, then they can achieve what you are claiming, but they have to do the work.

If you have achieved it, or you’ve had someone achieve it, you can be confident in your authority positioning. There’s no magic rule that says you have to help a certain amount of people achieve a result before you can position yourself as an authority.

However, you need to know how to articulate how to help someone get it. Then you want to show up with that authority.

The definition of authority by Merriam-Webster dictionary is…

“The confident quality of someone who knows a lot about something or who is respected by other people.”

I really like that definition because confident qualities are when you know a lot about something, you have studied and researched it, and you’ve got experience about something, and you’re probably respected by other people.

There are 3 E’s you need to share when you are showing your authority…

1 – Evidence

2 – Experience

3 – Education

The way to position yourself as an authority is to give evidence of the fact that you know what you’re talking about, show your experience and then also educate people. Your social media posts have to have some element of authority positioning in them.

2 – Belief-Shifting Language

Belief-shifting language is where we are super clear on the belief that our ideal client has, and the belief we WANT them to have, and we craft our content in a way that bridges that gap.

Often people are actually consuming your content but not actually having a shift in their beliefs.  So they learn something, as opposed to having an ‘a-ha’ moment.

I was working yesterday with my mastermind private group, and we were talking about the beliefs that their clients currently have. It’s these beliefs that you have to aim for in your content to shift.

To shift a mindset, you need to be super clear on what beliefs are not serving your ideal clients and then shift them to a mindset and belief that will serve them. This is based on the premise that you have something that’s going to improve their life, that is going to be valuable to the right person.

So you want to work out what beliefs your ideal client currently has and then address these beliefs. You can do this on a piece of paper.  And then you craft your content in a way that bridges that belief gap.

Aim to shift only one mindset or belief in each of your posts. People don’t take any action on your posts because they haven’t had that epiphany moment. And it doesn’t need to be big, but it’s a revelation or a shift in their thinking.

Think of content as a strategy. It’s not just one post, but it’s multiple posts. I signed up 3 clients this week and the one I signed up today was because she had been reading multiple posts from me.

It’s been a journey for her to trust me and my capability as a business coach. And this has been built over time.

It’s not about selling to people on one post. It’s about pre-selling people over time. Then when you’ve planted lots of seeds, and the person is ready and had an ‘a-ha’ moment, they will be pre-sold before they have a strategy call with you.

If you keep showing up with the right content for the right people, you’ll keep getting clients.

When they’re ready, they’ll reach out. It’s a beautiful thing!

3 – Clear Problem, Cause & Solution

The third thing your social media posts need to include is the clear problem, the cause of the problem, and the solution to the problem.

Many times the reason people’s posts don’t lead to attracting clients is that they’re too vague. They’re too big picture, too fluffy, or even too overwhelming.

There are too many ideas going on, as opposed to addressing a clear problem, the cause of the problem, and giving a clear solution.

This is what I help people to achieve in their content. It’s one of the main things I work on with my clients, because ‘closing the gap’ is so important.

Being too vague leaves people nowhere.

An example is people may write in their post, “Are you feeling stuck in your life?” Or “Do you want to fulfill your potential”

The problem with this is that is not typically the conversation people are having in their own mind.

The conversation people are having in their own mind, is usually very specific and quite detailed.

If you think about conversations that you have at a bus stop or at a checkout line. You don’t normally say things like, “I’m stuck” or “I’m not fulfilling my potential in life.”

People don’t typically use that kind of language. They use more specifics.

Like “My daughter is misbehaving, and she’s constantly throwing her toys out of the cot.”

Or you may say something like, “I just really want to be able to fit my fit my dress for this party coming up.”

Compelling content addresses specific concerns.  You need to be bold and niched and be specific about who you help and with what area you help with.

You’ve got to choose a very clear problem and a very clear niche that is not too big picture.

Once you’ve chosen your micro-niche, look at the problems the people have and address these problems.

But don’t just go on about the problem. Share the cause of the problem, and provide ways to solve their problem, and the solution in your content.

This is where you present a framework, process or roadmap that people can follow to get them to the solution they are seeking to their problem.

So ultimately, what need to do is create multiple posts as a strategy.

The steps I follow to create compelling content that resonates with my ideal clients are:

Step 1 – Create a post outlining a problem someone has, and write it directly to a person who wants a specific outcome you can provide.

Step 2 – Explain the connection between the outcome they want and the type of help you provide.

Step 3 –  Explain what your offer includes and who it’s for, then invite people to reach out to you.

Always call out a group of people in your posts. These are your niche. If you go through some of the posts on my Instagram and on my Facebook, you’ll see that I do this.

I explain who the events are for – ie: coaches, consultants and service-based entrepreneurs. I then mention the specific results that people are seeking help for, like building a pipeline of ideas and a pipeline of clients so they can scale their business to 10k months or more.

The reason we invite people to reach out to us, rather than posting an external link, is because Facebook doesn’t show your posts to many people if it has a link in it. They don’t want people to jump off Facebook onto your landing page or your website.

When you put an external link, maybe 1% of your followers see this. So you invite people to reach out to you instead. And then you can share your landing page with people.

I signed up 4 dream clients this week by applying some of these compelling content principles, as well as the other ingredients I teach in my ‘Compelling Content Formula’

The system is what I personally use to get clients consistently and make $10k+/month in my business.

I typically get at least 3 discovery calls booked into my calendar every week by applying these principles.

And now I’ve decided to create a brand-new 30-day content makeover mastermind to share the exact strategy!

I’ll be leading a small group of people through my proven process to create the right language to call in truly ideal, quality clients.

It will cover how to craft organic content so that the right people will be attracted to you and want to work with you.

I’ll also be doing weekly live ‘make-overs’ of your content using my compelling content formula…

…so you not only learn the skill of creating content that converts but also know exactly how to apply it to your particular business straight away, and on an ongoing basis.

This mastermind is for people who are already in business, have already had clients, and are pretty settled on a particular niche.

You must enjoy sharing your thoughts about the topics you’re an expert in.

It will be a very exclusive small group so that everyone gets personal coaching with me on their content in order to attract the right clients.

If you’re interested and you’d like to be considered for the mastermind, send me a message on Facebook, or email me at info@katmillar.com.

I’ll ask you some questions to see if you’re the right fit for the program. If you are, I’ll share with you the details to get you started.

I look forward to chatting with you!

3 Little-Known Ways To Grab Attention Instantly With Your Content

How good are you at getting people’s attention online?

In this blog and video, I share how to get people’s attention fast and maintain it.

You can have an INCREDIBLE program or service, but without being able to grab attention, it’s like having a Porsche, but leaving it in your garage. You won’t get far.

If you want to attract more clients, you need to understand the power of attention.

So, what is it that gets people’s attention?

A Harvard study showed that 90%+ of our buying decisions are made subconsciously.

We all have an internal subconscious ‘gate-keeper’ that’s designed to filter what to pay attention to. It helps us decide which content posts, videos, and emails to keep consuming…and which ones to scroll on by.

Often we don’t even know what we’re looking for when we’re online. What we decide to keep reading or watching is predominately subconscious.

If you don’t know how to speak directly to the subconscious mind, you’re probably trying to get people’s attention logically… (which rarely works). Because attention goes in order of the brain stem.

But when you know how to arrange your words in a way that gets people’s attention, you get more engagement, interest, and most importantly, more people inspired to take action to work with you.

This is what I call compelling content. It’s something I’m super passionate about helping coaches and entrepreneurs to improve on because if you can get this right, your written and spoken content can attract clients for you consistently.

You can start applying these principles straight away and make money fast, it’s super exciting!

So to get someone’s attention, we need to understand the science of action. What makes someone take action?

To get this, we need to understand 3 parts of the brain and the order in which each part is engaged.

1. Instincts

The first level is instincts. With all our content, it’s important to always speak to the hindbrain first. The hindbrain is the ‘survival mode’ part of our brain, also known as the lizard brain or reptilian brain.

When people are scrolling through social media or looking through their inbox, they are typically in ‘instinct’ mode.

The instinct acts like a ‘gatekeeper’ and makes decisions super quickly, it’s subconscious, it’s super quick. And what we’re asking at a subconscious level is “Is this going to move me up my hierarchy of values”.

That’s what’s happening under the surface. The hindbrain is analysing super fast “Is this going to waste my time, or is this going to give me a return on investment”… whether that’s through entertainment, learning something that we didn’t know, being inspired, or a story that warms our heart.

So, at a family party when my Uncle talks about motorbikes, that is lower in my values. And he couldn’t care less about hearing all about business and personal development, things that I’m into. So, this is happening at that level.

2. Imagination – Emotions

The second level is imagination. The next gatekeeper we’ve got to get through is the emotion, which is activated in the imagination.

We’ve got to move people and evoke their emotions.

We do this by getting them to imagine a scene playing out – to be aware that you understand their problem SO well that they think “oh my gosh, she gets me. I really feel the truth of what she’s saying”.

We do this by painting a picture using specific language.

3. Intelligence – Logic

Once you’ve gotten through the instinct, and the imagination, then you get to the intelligence.

This happens at the prefrontal cortex of the brain, which is the logic, the analysis, the order and structure part of the brain.

A lot of people try and reach people with logic, and they haven’t come through the gatekeepers of instant and imagination.

It always goes in this order. Always. This is the science of voluntary action.

In order to get someone to take action, we need to work our way UP the brainstem.

So how do we do this?

There are 3 things I teach that are super effective in grabbing attention:

1. Talk about a specific PROBLEM your ideal client has

ATTENTION is based on a hierarchy of values. Anyone on the planet will be receptive to your content if you shift them UP their hierarchy of values.

Certain things are more important to us than others.

Research shows that most people are thinking about their problems. So if we try and reach them with a solution too quickly, we don’t build trust with them.

Today I was in Macquarie shopping centre and the Flying Doctors tried to stop me. But because I was on a mission for something more important in that moment, I didn’t stop.

The day before I was approached by someone asking me to donate to dry July because she saw my post on my recent skin cancer scare. And that made me stop and pay attention because it was in my ‘attention field’.

When you have to make quick decisions, we do it based on our values.

Any time a human tries to pull you down the hierarchy of values, you will probably get annoyed.

One of the reasons communication breaks down is because one person talks about what is important to them, and not important to the other person. Then the other person starts talking about what is important to them.

Most issues we have with human beings are that we’re trying to pull their attention lower into things that are less important to that person.

The question to always have in mind when creating content is – Is what I’m about to talk about important?

When people are shifted up their values scale, they will be grateful.

If there is a problem preceding your information – the solution becomes important.

People scroll past if you shift them down their attention scale. They stop and consume your content when you shift them UP their attention scale.

This is why it’s so important to be clear about who you’re wanting to attract, so you know the language that shifts their attention UP their values hierarchy.

2. Share the CAUSE of the problem, revealing something contrarian

Once we’ve gained someone’s attention, we can unpack the cause of the problem, being contrarian – meaning, going against something.

Russell Brunson calls this ‘throwing rocks at your enemies’.

You don’t throw rocks at the person or business, but more like a concept.

So let’s say you’re a nutrition coach, and you help people with losing weight, and you do it through a keto diet. You might throw rocks at a calorie-counting diet.

If you teach people how to run marathons, you might be contrarian to CrossFit, or high intensity interval training.

If you’re a parenting coach, and you’re all about hands-on parenting; that’s a method that you teach, you might go against people who are very hands-off parenting.

If you’re a mindset coach you may focus on self-care as a healing modality, vs. a coach who focuses on contribution and service as the priority for healing.

In my business, I teach that that doing a blog once a week, or joining a clubhouse room or starting a podcast is not the fastest way to get clients.

The fastest way is by having a profitable presentation.

Think about the opposite of what you want to share. What do you stand for and against?

Use this when you’re unpacking the cause of the problem your ideal clients have.

3. Share the exact SOLUTION of that problem

The third thing we share is the solution of the problem. We show people clearly exactly what they need to do.

This is all about POSITIONING.

If someone’s knowledge is organised, they change position in your brain and value goes up.

Every time you open your mouth you are constantly positioning yourself. Are you subconsciously lowering or raising your positioning?

The best way to position yourself is to teach people something they didn’t know – or teach in a different way.

When you organise the knowledge in a way that has a pathway, that’s what people pay for.

They pay you to take them through a process that speeds up their results. A roadmap or game-plan that accelerates the process for them.

This system is what I personally use to get clients consistently and make 6-figures per year in my business and what I teach my clients.

I typically get at least 3 discovery calls booked into my calendar every week by applying these principles.

I use them in my written and spoken content. You can do this in ads and organic content, in your social media captions, emails – everywhere you show up online.

This strategy is so powerful because you understand how to do it, you can get clients very fast.

So I’ve decided to teach a small group of people how to do this. I’m creating a new 30-day compelling content mastermind, where I’ll be leading people through this powerful process to create the right language to call in truly ideal, quality clients.

This will be available only for people who are already in business, you’ve already had clients, and you’re pretty settled on a particular ideal client.

I’ll help you craft your content in a way that attracts and converts, so the right people can immediately see what you’re all about and that it’s for them and want to take action to work with you.

It will be a very exclusive small group so that everyone gets personal coaching with me about how to use your content to attract the right clients.

If you’re interested, reach out and we’ll have a quick chat to see if you’re a good candidate for the mastermind.

So just send me a DM on social media or email me: info@katmillar.com if you want to be considered to be part of it to make sure you get results.

See you soon!
