5 Stages of Mindset Change

We are collectively walking together through a crisis period, one that is filled with great uncertainty for many of us.

We are in a time of loss. We still have so much to be grateful for, yet we have also lost a lot.

And I believe important to acknowledge that and grieve the loss in a healthy way.

I think it’s wise to acknowledge and feel our feelings, whatever they are.

None of us have ever been through this. And many of us are struggling to adapt to the changes that have happened so fast.

Stress happens when our bodies feel fear and we don’t process our thoughts and feelings in a healthy way.

We can’t function and perform well for ourselves, our clients, our communities or our businesses if we live in a constant state of stress.

We can’t pour from an empty cup.

So the first step is becoming aware of what’s happening internally.

How we walk out this crisis is determined by the mindset we choose as we navigate through it.

I’ve recently noticed a cycle in my own thinking through this time, and also in the thinking of some of my clients and friends.

I have named this cycle the 5 stages of mindset change.

In this video and article I share the 5 stages in the cycle and how they manifest in your life, so you can determine how to move to the next stage and use this time to become more resilient.

Stage 1 – React

The first mindset change is to react. We are all reacting very differently to the circumstances around us.

There’s one thing we can’t control and that’s the circumstances around us.

The circumstance is neutral until we put thought and meaning to it. A circumstance cannot make us feel anything.

There are plenty of things we can control, like our thoughts, our emotions, our actions, and our results.

This isn’t anything new, this is well-known in the world of psychology.

This is the way our brain works and what happens when we realise that our reaction to a circumstance is within our control.

We might not control our initial impulse to react, but we can control the meaning we give to the circumstance.

We can control our thoughts about the circumstance, which then controls our feelings about it. Our actions and behaviours follow on from there.

Realising there is so much we can control is very helpful when we feel out of control with a lot of uncertainty in our lives.

We all react differently. Some people are in different stages.  If you think about the stages of grief, there is shock, then there’s numbness. I’ve definitely had some numbness where I’ve found I’m not remembering things and my brain is foggy.

Some of us do what I call going to ‘BED’.

B is for blame

E is for excuses

D is for denial.

We might rotate between blaming other people and blaming ourselves for how we feel. We make excuses. We can start saying that we are not going to achieve our goals or we are not going to move forward.

We can deny our feelings and the changes and almost ‘pretend it’s not happening. In this stage we are reacting to what’s happening rather than taking control of our responses. It’s like we want to just hang out until it’s all over.

Stress occurs in a number of ways and can show up in physical, mental, emotional and behavioural red flags.  We might feel irritable, moody and unmotivated. We might find ourselves over-consuming and indulging in bad habits. These are all symptoms of stress and occur in the ‘react’ stage.

Stage 2 – Reflect

In this stage, we start to reflect on how we’ve chosen to react. Some people never make it to the reflecting stage.

Have we chosen to retreat or advance, to become stronger and grow, or have we hidden from facing the reality of the crisis?

To reflect is healthy. Be open with yourself about how you are feeling and how you have been handling the situation.

Reflection allows us to GROW from this situation.

We can choose a growth mindset that takes what’s thrown at us and we can use it to become stronger, more powerful and more evolved.

We can live at the ’cause’ side of the equation.

Or we can live at the ‘effect’ side.

We all have a choice. We can choose to retreat or advance, choose to become stronger or diminish during this time. This all starts with reflection.

Stage 3 – Recover

The next stage that a lot of people move to, is what I call recover.

In the recovery stage, we’ve reflected on how we’ve reacted, and then we start to recover.

We start to become more self-aware, self-accepting and accepting of the situation.

We may have been frustrated or angry at having things taken from us.

For example for me, I was so frustrated that I couldn’t use the gym! Going to the gym has been part of my life for 25 years and it was wired into my habits and lifestyle and even identity. It was a coping mechanism.

I would go from feeling frustration at not being able to go to the gym, to feeling guilt and beat myself up for being silly that it’s such a ‘first world problem’. Then I went to feeling compassion for myself for the loss. Even if it seems small and insignificant to someone else.

I’ve realised that I had to grieve the loss of that part of my life. That it’s ok.

Have you lost things that form part of your identity and are also a coping mechanism? If that’s you, I understand.

There is a sense of loss and grieving that comes with any type of loss of something or someone we’re used to.

When you start to recover, you look at the possibilities.

You ask yourself things like “How do I want to be in this season? What can I do differently? How can I meet my needs in a different way, now that restrictions are in place?”

Stage 4 – Reset

The reset stage is a stage where you need to have empathy for yourself and for others.

This is the stage to show yourself kindness, grace and compassion for what you’ve been going through.

This is where the rebooting and recharging kicks in and your creativity gets turned back on.

Recently, I’ve been wanting to plant some things on my balcony. I want to do some painting and I want to write more poetry.

I want to sort out my online systems and I feel more motivated to make changes, whereas in the first few weeks of this, I was feeling numb, confused, lost and a bit all over the place.

In the reset phase, we make empowering changes.

For example I’ve committed to a friend to meet in the park and motivate each other, go for bike rides and take the weights out.

I’ve committed to some non-negotiables of daily sunshine, nature and movement.

I’ve committed to showing up online, regardless of how I feel. I’ve committed to being productive.

The reset stage is putting in some routines, making sure that you have a schedule and keeping some sense of certainty.

Your brain is freaking out right now because there are so many unanswered questions. We don’t know how long this is going to last. There is so much uncertainty.

Having routine brings certainty to your brain. I need a sense of routine every day. I need to stop staying up late. I need to go to bed earlier and get up with a plan every day. I need to stick to my daily plan and weekly goals.

If you’ve fallen down and gotten off of the track, forgive yourself, pick yourself back up again and start showing up in a way that inspires you.

Stage 5 – Resilience

Resilience is your ability to bounce back from stress.

This is where we shift from the stress response to being strong.

Resilience is about acknowledging your feelings of stress and being kin

d to yourself and deciding to use them to grow.

When we are in the resilient stage, we feel strong, resourceful, creative and powerful.

But then something might happen and we find ourselves back in stage 1 as we react again and go back around the cycle again.

We’ve all been feeling certain levels of stress. It’s important to acknowledge that it is stress and that your brain doesn’t feel safe due to the upheaval we have all been experiencing.

When you feel stress rising up in your body, take a moment to do some stress relief actions:

* Deep breathing or meditation.

* Increase your movement and intake of healthy food.

* Externalising your thoughts – journaling, or processing with a coach or friend.

* If you have nervous energy and find yourself scrolling, find something to create something and do things with your hands.

Remember that comforting yourself is different to caring for yourself.

Most of all – be kind to you. You’re doing great, my friend. Even if you don’t think you are.

I know we all try to be strong and independent, powerful leaders, but we’re all going through this together. It helps us if we are open, honest and vulnerable.

When we face these feelings, it allows us to move on to the resilience stage more quickly.

You don’t need to rush to resilience. The by-product of reflecting, recovering and resetting will be resilience.

Love to hear your thoughts.

The #1 Tool You Need To Attract Clients Online

Hey friends,

In this video and article, I share 3 opportunity blockers that may be hindering your business growth.

I also share 3 super-slow ways to get clients online (what NOT to do),

and 3 super-charged ways to attract clients online.

Do you want to be one of those people whose business takes off and soars during this season?

Or will you be the one who retreats and gives up?

We are living in very unusual times. If you want to not only survive in these challenging days, but thrive, I invite you to be open to the new opportunities around you to grow your business online.

I’m sure you’re here because you want to be one of those people is successful in this period, and really help people and make a difference in this time.

3 Opportunity Blockers

Opportunity blockers are limiting beliefs that we tell ourselves, that block us from progressing. I want to dispel some of the main limiting beliefs that are coming up in people right now.

What I love about times that we’re in like this, is that all our belief systems come to the surface, and if forces us to deal with them.

Number 1 opportunity blocker I’m hearing from people in these changing times, is:

I don’t know enough / I’m not expert enough

that they don’t know enough and they are not experts.  I want you to really challenge your beliefs.

Because of fear of not feeling good enough or not knowing enough, you are missing opportunities. You need to make a decision and say, ‘I’m going to be willing to show up, no matter how I feel.’  Say to yourself, ‘I’m capable. I can handle it and people need help during this time.’

Number 2 opportunity blocker is the belief that:

The market is already too saturated

If you’re a relationship coach, because of web search algorithms, it appears there are relationship coaches everywhere.

The truth is there are more people who need help than there are people who can help them.

So that’s one myth I want to bust!

Number 3 opportunity blocker is the belief that:

No-one is spending money at the moment

…or it’s unethical to sell during this time, or people don’t want to buy at the moment…

How many of you feel that it’s not a good time to ask people for money?

The truth is there are MANY people out there who need your help and encouragement during this season.

You’ve got a tribe of people that you have a specific skill-set, that you can help right now. If you don’t help them, potentially, they will struggle… and so will you!

You are not selling a gimmick, you are genuinely interested in helping people and you have something of value to serve people with. You cannot let the fear of judgement stop you from progressing in your business.

If you stop selling, your business could go under – then you can’t help anybody!

So please keep giving people an opportunity to receive value and help.

3 Super-slow Ways to Get Clients Online – What Not to Do

Here are three super-slow ways to grow your business:

Number 1: Relying on just social media posts to grow your business

Many people have been telling me they’ve been posting and no one is interested. They take it personally, instead of looking at their systems.

It might be that only one area needs tweaking, like their marketing and copywriting. It may be that they are not communicating their value well. The most common thing I see is poor marketing skills. Organic posts are a very slow way to build your business.

Number 2: Relying too much on word of mouth and referrals to get clients

That is like handing your business control over to someone else. If you’re one of those lucky businesses that constantly gets an influx of leads and referrals by word of mouth, then you’re quite rare.

There will come a day that you will need to be more proactive in your marketing, and you cannot just rely on other people to do your marketing for you. Relying on word of mouth is a very slow way to grow your business.

The most important thing is to take control of your marketing. Take the reins and ensure you’ve got online and offline strategies for lead generation.

Also hone your skills in sales, marketing, copywriting and presenting through this downtime. These are timeless skills that can help you future-proof your income.

Number 3: Just sending people to your website

When people aren’t getting the click-throughs to their websites, they think it’s something wrong with them, but it’s actually usually just a traffic problem.

If you’re not getting clients, check that you are giving really great value through all of your content, whether it’s free or paid. But more than likely, you are giving value but people aren’t finding it.

We don’t just want to send people to our website but to landing pages where people can opt-in and you can build your email list and continue to provide value to people and nurture them.

Also, landing pages convert 4-10x higher than a page on your website.

So don’t just rely on your website, which is a super-slow way.

3 Super-charged Ways To Get Clients Online

These are what I call my three secret online marketing weapons.

Number 1: Post regular, educational content targeted to your ideal client

Rather than just posting random things, you want to think about what your ideal client needs to know.

How can you help them actually get a very small result through your content?  Make sure it’s consistent and original, not just reposting other people’s opinions.

Have a voice and post on social media at least three times a week. Once a week post a really good piece of content such as a video blog and ensure it’s directed to your ideal client.

Number 2: Run webinars

Webinars are one of my favourite ways to get clients. Here’s why:

1. They can help you grow your list & get new clients fast

2. You can help more people at once

3. It’s a fast way to get & hold attention

4. There is longer exposure to you, helping people make a significant buying decision

5. Compared to written content or social media, you can more effectively educate, inform, & nurture people

6. They opens new doors of opportunity

7. It’s a great skill to learn that you have for life

Webinars can build your email list and also reach people globally.

They are a very leveraged method to use to grow your business. They are a profitable, scalable asset.

Number 3: Create a marketing funnel

This is actually the number 1 tool you need to attract new clients online. A marketing funnel is a series of steps that you put together, to take your ideal clients from being strangers to paid clients.

These could be prospective clients that meet you on social media. You take them through a series of steps to get closer and closer to you, by getting them to opt into something like a freebie.

You will be in multiple people’s funnels at the same time, where you’ve entered your name and your email, in exchange for usually a downloadable item. It could be a webinar or a PDF cheat sheet.

Then on the thank you page, you would up-sell a small product. It could be a one-on-one session with you. This funnel enables you to continue to market to people and to nurture them.

It means that you’ll get unusually consistent lead flow. So, what you want to do is start with one funnel, provide great value and get people coming closer and closer to becoming a paid client.

I’ve got 20 funnels at the moment. There are different funnels out there for different things like webinars

Building these lead generation strategies, you’ve got multiple streams of ways that people can find you and multiple streams of income and cash flow. You are then building a passive or semi-passive income, that is truly an asset.

Tony Robbins has a million people going through this funnel, every single month. Creating funnels are very doable and anyone can do it once they know how.

If I get an idea for something, I can set up a funnel in about an hour. I have full control of my business that means I can go to any country in the world and still receive income.

And you can too.

Need to Attract New Clients Fast? 3 Things You Can Do Today!

A lot of people say to me, ‘I need new clients and I need them quickly, I’m desperate.’ If that’s you, I have 3 really powerful strategies to attract new clients, that you can implement straight away.

There are many long-term strategies we can employ to attract new clients. An example is creating a workshop, creating a webinar, or creating a whole marketing funnel with emails and a nurture sequence.

However, these strategies take time.

If you need clients fast and time is of the essence, then these 3 tips are for you.

But remember; The power lies in doing them! Some of these take courage to do and some mean stepping out of your comfort zone to do them, but they are worth the effort.

So here are the 3 things you can do to get clients fast:

1. Private Message a One-on-One Free Offer

Write a list all of your contacts on Facebook and Instagram, and identify who would be ideal clients and potential prospects.

Message each ideal client an offer of a free one-on-one strategy or discovery session with you.

Use clearly defined questions for that conversation to find out your potential client’s problems, current challenges, goals and desires. Offer a 30 or 45-minute session with you, to get to know what challenges you can help them overcome.

You might want to add a ‘there’s zero sales pitch’ at this point also, so people don’t feel like they’re being sold something right away. I have a template that you can use for this. Just email me to request it.

My template states: ‘Hi… I hope you’re doing well. I thought of you because I know that you have an interest in …’ If you are approaching a nutritionist, you might say, ‘I know that you value your health…’ Then you would say, ‘I’m offering support and help for your biggest challenge.’

At this point you would add some credibility for example: ‘I’m a qualified coach and I specialise in …’ You would then continue, ‘I’m opening up spaces for 5 people for 45 minutes, free of charge next week.’

Then add in some scarcity, so you need to include an expiry date or make it a limited offer.

In the book ‘Influence’ by Robert Cialdini, he shares that scarcity is one of the key pillars of influence.

Then include your calendar link for them to book straight in, such as Calendly.com.

There are a few do’s and don’ts to follow for this strategy:

  • Do value yourself and position this opportunity as valuable.
  • Don’t come across as apologetic. Your time is precious and you need to position your time as being valuable.
  • Ensure you only send messages to potential ideal clients.
  • Add some scarcity and urgency by making sure there is a clear cut-off point for your offer.

2. Post an Offer on Your Facebook Page

I find most people don’t make offers as much as they should as they are scared. They don’t want to use social media as a sales tool. But you should be making offers on your business social media platforms!

No doubt you are giving people lots of value on your social media pages, but when was the last time that you told people on your business pages exactly what you do and what your paid program is about?

Tell those on your business page exactly what you do and make them an offer! Make a 2-minute video detailing exactly what you do and how you help people. You can even do a flash sale or offer a reduced rate, but give it scarcity and make sure you put an end date on your offer. Back yourself and make an offer!

Remember, we’re talking short-term strategies to gain clients today. The long-term strategies are things like webinars, workshops and creating a sales funnel.

3. Contact Potential Ideal Clients on the Phone

Most people do not want to do this and don’t like speaking on the phone. There is an element of facing fear and rejection when making calls to prospective clients. We also don’t want to bother people. However, hearing a ‘no’ is part of the process. It’s one step closer to someone who says ‘yes’.

To do this, write a list of your potential ideal clients. Have a script pre-written and stick to your script. Make them an offer of a complimentary strategy session or another offer you feel is appropriate.

You’re not saying you want to hold the session today; you are offering to book them in for a future strategy session.

You could say, ‘I’ve been looking at my calendar and I was thinking of you. I was wondering if you would be interested in having a one-on-one discovery session with me? I believe I can help you with your challenges…’

In this call you’re ringing to give, you’re not ringing to take from them. You’re ringing to give them a great offer! And all you are asking them to do is take up your offer for a free one-on-one session at a later date. Then text your calendar link.

And if you’re not a match and they don’t need your services, then you are one step closer to finding your ideal client! A ‘no’ is just one step closer to your ‘yes’!

Click here to email me to request my script for private messaging potential clients.

Remember, the world is waiting for your brilliance!

How to Identify Your Next Level of Entrepreneurial Courage

Courage is an important ingredient we need to have if we want to succeed and excel in business.

Courage is not about not feeling fear. Courage is facing our fears head-on and charging ahead despite the fear.

Being in business requires courage. We get pushed out of our comfort zone. We’ve no doubt already taken bold action and have been courageous. But we can sometimes settle and become complacent once we’ve overcome some hardships.

Today I want to challenge you to take a look at the next level of entrepreneurial courage that you need to take, in order to get to your next level in business.

Sometimes we avoid taking action because we think something is scary and looks almost impossible. But if we break things down into sizeable chunks, we can achieve whatever we want!

During my time working with entrepreneurs, I have identified seven stages of courage that entrepreneurs go through on their business-building journey.

This will help you determine where you are along your journey and what your next courage step is.

Stage Number 1 – Courage to Commit to your Goals

Stage Number One is having the courage to commit to your goals. When you set out a business plan, you need to set goals and have a vision. You need to know why you’re doing what you’re doing and exactly what you want to achieve by your actions.

It takes courage to share your goals with others because then you are really putting yourself out there to potentially be judged! This is a scary thought! Sharing your goals with others requires courage.

Stage Number 2 – Courage to Specify a Niche

Stage Number Two is having the courage to develop a niche. It takes courage to say, ‘I’m going to work with this group of people’ and potentially leave another sector of people out.

Feeling the fear and doing it anyway is important when singling out your niche or micro-niche and sticking to it!

Marketing to your niche doesn’t mean you leave all people out, it means you are targeting primarily your ideal client. You are speaking directly to your niche targeted client. Take the courage to be a subject matter expert for your niche market.

Marketing is about attracting and repelling. Don’t be scared to repel people, as those you repel will not be your ideal client. Your ideal client will be attracted to you. Take the risk to micro-niche!

Stage Number 3 – Courage to Write Your Truth

Writing your truth is a big step in the courage stages. Writing your truth includes putting out a website, finding your buyers or clients on social media, writing your social media posts and writing blogs.

It takes courage to become visible. People will see you. People might judge you. And it’s a risk we all need to take. People procrastinate and create excuses like, ‘I’m not good at technology’ or ‘I’m not a good writer.’

It takes emotion to write. It takes courage to write your truth. Be courageous! The payoff is worth it!

Stage Number 4 – Courage to Go to Your Next Level

So you’ve done your website and blogs, but now it’s time to step up further. If you have become comfortable with writing your truth, now you need to go to the next level and speak your truth on a wider scale.

If you’ve not gotten in front of a camera, then you need to take the next step and get in front of a camera!

If you’re already comfortable in front of a camera, then your next stage of courage is to host a webinar or get out and do a live event, like running a free workshop. There is always a next level of courage awaiting you that you can attain.

Stage Number 5 – Courage to Include a Call To Action

Believe it or not, including a call to action within your material takes courage. Inviting people to opt-in to a freebie requires courage. Adding a call to action on your video or a link to opt-in takes great courage!

Adding a call to action is like putting your hand out to help someone. It is your offer to nurture and provide value for your future clients. There is a possibility that someone won’t take your offer, but you have at least taken the courage to offer!

Stage Number 6 – Courage to Ask for Payment

Believing you are worth your time and believing someone should pay you for your time takes big courage! It means truly believing you and your time are valuable enough to have someone pay you for them.

You may have been posting live videos or providing free downloads for potential clients. You’ve been giving your future clients value. It’s now time to bring your client further on the journey with you by asking them to pay you for your time and insight.

Remember people are not just paying you for your one-hour of time, they are also paying for your years of experience, education and training, that have led you to where you are now.

It has cost you to gain your knowledge. It is fair and right for you to ask people to invest in what you have already invested in – your education, experience and knowledge!

Stage Number 7 – Courage to Be Consistent

You’ve achieved all the above stages and you now have a fantastic client base. You’re booked well into the future and you have excellent cash flow. This is fantastic and you deserve your hard work to be rewarded.

This is the time where complacency can kick in. Summoning your courage to be consistent is vital in this season. It takes courage to keep being consistent, courage to continually show up and provide value for your clients. It’s about honouring your client and also honouring yourself.

5 Essentials of Influential Social Media Content

Creating consistent content is so important in growing your business.

But to attract your ideal clients, it’s not about just posting any content; it’s about posting influential content.

It’s SO important that your content on social media is influential. You can spend so much time in your content, and if it’s not influential, that time can be wasted.

You could have been investing and doing something more important in your business that was actually going to get you a result.

If you post influential content, you’ll be way more likely to help people to move along with the journey towards you, and have them take that step closer to becoming a paying client.

You want to think about what the purpose of your content is, (rather than just posting for posting sake).

You want to ensure your content is really helpful, relevant and influential, meaning you’re helping people to actually take action to change their life, not just to entertain them.

Recently one of my clients said to me; “Kat, I’m thinking I need to post more funny stuff on my Facebook business page, because the funny stuff gets the most likes.”

I’m not sure if you’ve fallen into that trap before, but likes are not the goal. Getting people to take the next step towards you is the goal – the step towards becoming a paid client.

Be careful not to just chase engagement – in terms of likes, but actually encourage a relationship with that person, inspire that person to become someone to change, and to take action for themselves.

Really the test is: Are people coming through your funnel? Are you getting people off social media and onto your website, onto your landing page and onto your online domain?

Ask yourself; ‘What is going to get people over the line?’ ‘What is actually going to make people want to sign up for you?’

People will sign up with you because you inspired them to want to take action. It’s because you educated them on the importance of taking action, of the cost if they don’t take action and why you’re different. Entertaining them is important. I’m not saying don’t post funny stuff. Use funny stuff as a break from your day, but it doesn’t lead to paid clients.

Paid clients purchase premium products that inform, inspire and educate. The purpose of social media is for potential clients to get to know, like and trust you, so they want to take the journey with you.

We need to make influential social media content that brings our clients across the line.

Here are 5 Essentials of Influential Social Media Content:

1) Design the Purpose of Your Post First

Decide prior to commencing your post what the purpose of your post is. Use strategy and intentionality when developing your social media posts. Think through what will lead to bringing money into your bank account.

Remember as a business owner if money is not going into your bank account consistently to cover your lifestyle and bills, you will always be stuck in a job, working for someone else.

If you really want to be an entrepreneur and get money into your bank account from working with people, you’ve got to think about the journey your potential clients will take to get there.

Usually, a future client’s journey starts with interacting with your social media post. That post leads them along the journey to become a paid client.

Be helpful, relevant and have a purpose and reason for your post. Building rapport, connection and trust with your future client is the beginning of their journey with you. A piece of content might be made to overcome a specific objection a client had. It might be to show a little bit more about your story, so they relate to you a little bit more.

It might be to showcase how you can help them by telling an example of a great story that you’ve had with a client, a case study or something that happened to you that week that was an excellent lesson. The lesson should help them to take more action towards you. Be strategic and ensure your posts all have a purpose.

2) Speak Directly to Your Ideal Clients’ Desires and Challenges

A lot of people don’t have goals, but they know what they want. A lot of people have dreams, but they might not even think that they can achieve their dreams. Many people may have goals, but how many are actually realising them?

If you were to ask a person, ‘What do you want?’,  most people know what they want. Ask a person, ‘What are you struggling with?’ and they will be able to articulate their struggles to you.

Speak directly to your ideal client, not broadly as thought talking to friends or family. Speak directly to the person that you want to work with, to your target market or avatar. Speak to their desires. Speak to their challenges. The deeper you go, the better for your potential future client.

It’s not all about demographics. It’s about psychographics. What are their thoughts, their feelings and beliefs? What are they thinking about themselves? What are they thinking about you?

Go deeper. WHY do they need to change? WHY do they want that goal? WHY do they need help with it? Start talking about that. Be really specific about their desires and their challenges.

3) Help Them Overcome Barriers to Action

‘How To’ videos are abounding on the internet. It’s the most searched term on Google. But we’ve got to remember, that it’s not just about people learning, it’s about people doing. It’s about people taking action on what you’re teaching them.

When you’re thinking about your content for your social media, ask yourself; ‘How can I help them overcome their resistance to changing?’ ‘How can I have them overcome their biggest objections to investing in themselves?’

You can address these questions through your social media content. So when you’re thinking about money in your bank account and your potential client becoming your paid client, you must work your way back to this regarding content. What is going to stop them from getting to this point?

And it’s not just about getting a paid client. It’s about transforming someone’s life. It’s about helping them become who they want to be. It’s about helping them out of their pain and helping them get relief.

You’re helping them to avoid, become or create something in their life and to be the person they want to be.

4) Show Them How Else You Can Help Them

Build into your pre-planned strategy, a way to incorporate further development for your future client. Show them how else you can help them. It might look like: Giving them one thing that they could go away and do. One small result so that you’re showing them that you actually have seven. ‘This is one part of my ‘7-step strategy’.

Or it’s one recipe that you’ve got, out of your 50 recipes. Or it’s one technique to overcome a limiting belief, out of all the 50 interventions that you do with people.

You’re not just giving them enough that they feel satisfied. You’re giving them a little taste, so they go, ‘Oh it tastes good’ and they want more. You’re showing them how else you can help them.

You’re not just giving them this false illusion that their problem is solved. We know that no one is going to change their life from one piece of social media content. It’s a layered journey. So build that layering within your strategy document.

People often know what to do but they don’t know how to apply it to them and that’s where you can come in and help. It’s about planting seeds in their mind so they think, ‘Ah, when I need to work on that, I will go to the go-to person’. Planning your strategy is key.

5) Have a Call To Action or Engagement

Your call to action is your next connection and interaction with a future client. It could be, ‘Jump onto the call with me’ or ‘Come to my free webinar’ or ‘Join my five-day challenge’. It could be, ‘Download my freebie’, or ‘Drop a comment or put a yes in the comment box’.

Your call to action is asking your potential client to do something with you and it also works to build engagement. The reason that asking for ‘comments’, ‘likes’ or ‘shares’ works on Facebook, is that Facebook sees these actions, and then pushes your content out to more people in the community.

To recap my 5 tips;
  1. Decide the purpose of your post first
  2. Speak directly to your ideal clients’ desires and challenges
  3. Help them to overcome barriers to action
  4. Show them how else you can help them
  5. Have a call to action or engagement

Applying these 5 tips will help you lead your potential client on a journey towards being a paid client.
