3 Universal Laws That Peak Performers Use To Get Powerful Results

A lot of people struggle to progress in their business.

They want to get more clients, get events happening and get the business success they know they’re capable of.

But not a lot of people actually do what it takes to take the right consistent action to go to the next level in contributing and succeeding.

I hear people say things like, “How has another week gone past and I still haven’t achieved X?”, or “How has another week gone by and I didn’t finish Y?”

When we don’t align what we’re doing on a day-to-day basis with our bigger goals and vision, we don’t have consistent progress. This causes us incredible frustration.

If you’ve noticed yourself in a pattern of putting hard things off, procrastinating or not following through on things you told yourself you’d do, this blog and video will help you.

What I love helping people in business with is not only WHAT to do, but WHY they are NOT doing things.

If you can ‘unplug’ the blockages, the flow starts to move again. It feels amazing!

It’s easy to get our head in our laptop and get stuck into actions and not think about whether they are the BEST actions to be doing right now.

Whenever I’m feeling like this, I love revisiting universal laws, because they are solid truth. Universal laws don’t change.

So, if want to perform at a higher level and improve your results – it helps to come back to universal laws.

Understanding universal laws can provide us with a compass to see where we’re currently at, and a roadmap for how we can move forward.

What I like to do is look at universal laws and truths through the lens of an entrepreneur and how to use them to grow in business.

There are many different universal laws, however, in this blog I’m going to talk about 3 of them.

1 – The Law of Vibration

The Law of Vibration states that “Everything in the universe has a frequency and a vibration,” “Nothing ever stands still, as everything is always either being pushed away from you or pulled towards you.”

Items of similar vibration are attracted to each other. So, to use this law to manifest what you want in business, you need to match your vibration with that of what you want.

Whatever you believe with feeling becomes your reality. You feel positive about yourself to the degree of your vibration. You feel negative about yourself to the degree of your vibration.

If you’re low, flat and annoyed, resentful and disappointed, you’ll attract more of those feelings. And we attract more of those things into our business and life.

If you’re feeling inspired, determined, confident and amazing, you attract more of that. You attract people who are also feeling like that way.

Have you noticed this in action?

Failure breeds failure. Success breeds success.

A client of mine recently said she’d never had a flat tyre in her life, and then she had 4 in 1 month.  I locked myself out of my apartment 3 times in one week.

When you’re putting out positive vibes, positive things start to flow around you. I’ve seen this so many times in my life and the lives of people around me.

For me personally, when I get on a roll and things are going wrong like if I get angry, kick my toe, or smash a plate, this law is triggered.  You attract that grumpy person at the post office or you find that everyone is driving slow when you’re in a big hurry.

What are you expecting to happen in your business? What are you actually expecting?

If you expect that you’re meant to be a great success in life, you’ll press through to your goals. Nothing will stop you.

But if you believe it’s just luck or a fluke, or it doesn’t really matter what you do today because nothing works, then you won’t push forward and you will be disappointed.

Happy people attract other happy people. A person with an abundant mindset attracts other people with abundant mindsets.

Everything you do and have in your life is because of who you are and who you have been.  You can have and do more because you can change who you are being.

You can keep your thoughts on what you want and refuse to think about what you don’t want.

The more you think of yourself and your life as uniquely brilliant and important, the more you attract the resources, ideas, opportunities and people to help you become the person you see in your future.

You’re surrounded by the outcome of decisions you’ve made in the past. You are also fully capable of making other decisions and attracting a different set of circumstances.

If you’re in the vibration of consistency, you’ll keep showing up and being consistent and writing content and doing those FB Lives and running those webinars that are going to lead you to success.

The more you believe it, the more likely it will happen. If you keep telling yourself that webinars don’t work, or Facebook ads don’t work, you are creating your own self-fulfilling prophecy.

Your beliefs become your reality. You have to believe in your success and practice believing it. It takes work to raise your vibration.

Whatever you expect with confidence becomes your own self-fulfilling prophecy. What you get is not necessarily what you want in life, but what you expect.

Successful people expect to be happy, fulfilled, liked, and successful. People who show up at their events expecting to get clients are seldom disappointed.

Unsuccessful people have an attitude of pessimism, cynicism and negativity that causes situations to work out the exact way they are expecting.

The Law of Attraction and Vibration work in parallel with each other. You apply the law of Attraction and Vibration in your business by confidently expecting to gain something worthwhile from everything that’s happening to you in your life.

Instead of going down the path of negative thoughts that say it’s too hard, I can’t do this or things have gone terribly.  Choose to confidently expect that things are going to work out for you.

Imagine if you lived your life absolutely convinced that everything was conspiring to make you happy and successful? I have an action prompt for each of these 3 universal laws.

The first one is – What is a question I could ask myself every day to prompt a positive vibration?

The questions we ask ourselves before we get up and before we go to sleep are the most important questions we can ask ourselves.

If we want to produce more, at a higher level and achieve more progress and productivity, we want to wrap our day with powerful questions.

This is one way to raise your vibration.Your unconscious mind goes to work on the question throughout the day or the night.

Morning Questions to Raise Positive Vibrations

  1. How can I best be of service today?
  2. Who needs me to be at my A-game?
  3. How can I be my most powerful and confident self today?
  4. How can I use my time most effectively today?
  5. How can I show kindness today?

I think to myself that I have a community of people watching my life  (and so do you). You have a community of people watching your life and you have influence over them. I don’t take that responsibility lightly.

You can change someone’s mood with your vibration and positivity. The way that I show up affects other people.

Coaches know how much this is true. If you jump on a coaching call and you’re struggling, you can’t fake your vibration. It’s important that you start each day making powerful, positive choices that increase your positive vibration.

Evening Questions to Raise Positive Vibrations

  1. How many ways can I continue to become an even more effective coach?
  2. How many ways can I continue to become an even more wealthy business owner?
  3. How many ways can I trust more?

Using the law of vibration to our advantage is so motivating because it’s about our BFS – our Best Future Self. So it’s not just about having more money or more clients, it’s about the IDENTITY of WHO we want to be and see ourselves being in our future.

2 The Law of Correspondence

The Law of Correspondence states that your outer world is a reflection of your inner world. This is your true self. Your outer world of health corresponds to your inner world of beliefs about your health. Your outer world of finances corresponds to your inner world of beliefs about money.

When you work on your inner world, you start to reflect and produce the result in the outer world.

Our lives are created by the subconscious patterns we repeat every single day, and these patterns either serve us or hold us back. And most of our patterns are unconscious, in fact around 90% are on auto-pilot.

Any thought or idea that you accept as true in your conscious mind will be accepted in your subconscious mind. It’s really important what we put into our conscious mind what we want and not what we don’t want.

This is because your unconscious mind will immediately go to work to bring it into your reality, making all your words, feelings, actions and even body language fit a pattern that’s consistent with your dominant thoughts and goals.

If you look at someone who is hunched over and really small in their body, no doubt their dominant thoughts are negative about themselves.

We can activate this law by becoming aware of your own patterns, and then consciously taking action steps to break them. We need to be intentional about this.

We need to take time each day to soak your mind in positive and uplifting thoughts. Whatever you dwell on long enough and hard enough, will eventually materialise in the world around you.

The more you think about something, the more it comes towards you. This is where coaching is so powerful. We can’t see our own blind spots.

Coaches reflect our unconscious mind back to us. They reflect back what’s really going on in our inner world. If your business, or your health, your relationships, your finances are not thriving, you need to clean up your thinking.

So I have a simple challenge. Give yourself one word to focus on every week. It could be brave, joyful, inspiring, grateful, organised, flow, consistent, abundant, focus, calm, resilient.

Repeat these words and write them down somewhere you can see it a lot and when you see it, speak it out over yourself. Doing this sets your sail in the right direction.

Words change how we feel. If we have worry, confusion, doubt and overwhelm playing around in our mind, our outer world will reflect it.

3. The Law Of Cause And Effect

The Law of Cause and Effect states that any action causes a reaction. Whatever you put out, whether it be good or bad, you are going to get right back at you.

There are specific actions for being successful and for being unsuccessful. Most people think that life is just happening to them and they are just an effect of what’s happening.

They don’t realise that they have the choice to be the cause. When you’re a cause, you take full responsibility for your results.

It’s not always easy to admit this. It’s a bit of a wakeup call. When you realise that everything you have or don’t have, is because of you, it can be confronting.

A lot of people are looking externally at other people or things instead of being present to themselves and the opportunities that they can create.

We’re thinking thousands of thoughts every day. When we’re at the effect side of the equation, the thoughts are usually about what is happening TO us, not what we are creating.

When we live at cause, not effect, we realise that if we want to attract something into our business or into our life, WE have to take ownership. We need to realise I’M the cause of what’s happening.

If you want incredible clients, you need to be an incredible client. If you want incredible wealth, you need to invest time energy and money into your wealth.

When you realise that everything that is happening in your life is because of you, you start to become present to opportunities, clients and creativity.

A lot of people are deleting and rejecting opportunities constantly because they’re living in effect and not taking productive quality outputs that really matter. If you want to attract something into your business, you have to be it!

I want clients who don’t get stuck in hesitation, so I don’t allow myself to get stuck in hesitation. I want clients who are happy and committed, so I am happy and committed first. I want clients who give referrals, so I work at being a coach who is worthy of referrals.

Whatever you are reaping today is the result of what you sowed in the past.  If you wish to reap a different result, you need to plant different seeds today.

Sometimes reaping the seed you’ve sown takes patience. If you have planted seeds in the ground, keep watering them with positive thoughts, positive words and actions. One day they are going to come up fast like bamboo. But it requires trust.

There’s sometimes a lag time between sowing and reaping. It’s almost like a test. Your life is not a sprint, it’s more like an ultra-long marathon.

This law shows you that we will be compensated for our work as long as we’re open to receiving in all the many ways that results can be delivered to us.

5 Habits Of High Performing Entrepreneurs

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about what makes entrepreneurs successful.

I’ve been deep-diving into the work of Brendon Burchard, Brooke Castillo, Brian Tracy, Tony Robbins, and others to see what separates successful people from the rest.

Today I’m going to be talking about the habits of high performing entrepreneurs and specifically 5 habits that I think are the most important habits to develop.

Before I get into that…Some of you may not know that in 2006, I started competing in bodybuilding competitions.

I wanted to see what was possible for me.

And I didn’t just want to do compete, I wanted to win.

In the lead up to my first competition, I immersed myself in learning about the champion mindset. I wanted to know what thinking makes people champions.

I hired a world master champion bodybuilding coach, Jo Stewart.

I said to her “Jo, I want to win” and told her that I don’t want to do this for just the fun of it.

Ok don’t laugh… this is me in 2006…. I obviously wanted my hair to be bigger than my muscles 😉

To win, I had to start developing the mindset of a champion. So I started listening to CD’s of people who were champions and the mindset they had.

Over time I ended up doing 10 different competitions… (it became a bit addictive!)

I wanted to keep improving my time or improve my score and get better. And so I ended up competing every year for 7 years.

Throughout those years, I really started to learn the principles of champions.

Successful athletes, like all successful people make choices every day that lead them to becoming winners. These are often the choices they make when no one else is watching.

So what are some of the top habits of high performing entrepreneurs? Here are five…

1 –  Think About Your Best Future Self

High performing entrepreneurs think about their best future self. I like calling it my ‘future self’. Successful people take themselves out into the future, and they think about who they want to become.

And when you can see that dream and you believe it, it becomes your reality. You start acting like that person that you want to be, before you become it.

If you believe you’re meant to be great and be successful, you will press through to your goals, and nothing will stop you. If you believe that success is luck or a fluke, then you will be disappointed. And you will just keep stuck in a cycle that will become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Successful people start acting successfully now in the present time. They are their BFS – their Best Future Self.

What are 3 words that describe your best future self?

Maybe you want to be brave, maybe it’s courageous, aspirational, ambitious, confident, playful or organised?

I often go out into my future self. I’m constantly thinking about future Kat and what she’s doing and what she’s like.

I’ve got to really be intentional about it. Take for example; my future self is being super organised, as I don’t feel like it’s a natural gift for me.  But I train myself to be organised.

You want to choose the words that make you feel something where you actually really believe it. If you haven’t stopped lately to envisage your best future self and who that person is out in the future, then I encourage you to do that today and make a practice of it.

The person you are today is a result of everything you’ve done up to this point. All the seeds that you’ve planted in your life, everything that you’ve done is a result of your past choices.

If you look at your health right now,  it is a reflection of how you used to view yourself. If you look at your bank account, the finances sitting in your bank account are a reflection of who you used to think you were so it’s all related to self-worth.

If you look at your relationships. Are they thriving, or is there conflict?  It’s all related to how you see yourself and your identity.

Ask yourself, how you’ve been in your business in the past couple of months. Do you want to be this person in the future? Are you being your best future self in your business right now?

If you haven’t been operating as your best future self. Ask yourself, if you were, how would you behave in the future? And then start acting like that now!

High performers are not on autopilot, they’re intentional. They think about their character and their legacy. They’re looking out of today into the future and bringing the future to themselves.

2 –  Study And Develop Skills Within Your Primary Field Of Interest

If you’re not an entrepreneur just yet, but you want to be, this is for you also. It’s actually for all humans at any stage of their lives!

High performers study and develop skills within their primary field of interest. What three skills are you working on developing and practicing at the moment?

Are you developing your sales or marketing skills? Are you doing a course on making Facebook ads? Or are you working on learning copywriting?

Entrepreneurs should always be working on increasing at least 3 skills. This is not a scattergun approach. It’s deliberately choosing skills to push you and your business forward.

Each quarter I have 3 skills that I choose to grow in. I deliberately block out my calendar and put aside time for learning.

I find time to up-skill while I’m doing other things. I like listening to books while I’m cooking, driving or walking. I listen to the people who are living their best self and who are successful, people like Tony Robbins, Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy and others.

I deliberately learn other skills each quarter so I’m constantly up-skilling. I learn what I need to go to the next level.

When we get stuck and stop, we are then not attracting clients.  High-performance people schedule time in to become masterful in the areas they desire.

3 – Be Solution Minded, Not Problem Minded

High performing entrepreneurs focus on the solution and not the problem. Instead of focusing on what they don’t want, they get super clear on what they do want.

Think thoughts linked to your future self.  When you focus on solutions, when something bad happens, you don’t get stuck in disappointment.

Choosing a solution and growth mindset can become a habit. When problems come their way, entrepreneurs switch on. When COVID hit, successful entrepreneurs switched on and found solutions.

In times of trouble, successful entrepreneurs become resourceful and come up with creative solutions. We need to allow ourselves to really think on purpose, to be creative and to trust our unconscious mind.

Something that I do every morning and night, is I write out my vision. I say things like; I’m so happy and grateful now that I’m a highly successful, wealthy entrepreneur who has built my business on courage and effort.

In doing this, I’m re-wiring my subconscious brain. Because then my unconscious mind will go to work and come up with solutions to match this identity. In writing things down it drops from your conscious to your subconscious.

4 – Be Intentional About Your Daily Habits

There are habits in your life that are intentional, but that you almost do subconsciously, like brushing your teeth. Then there are habits in your life that you develop intentionally, based on your future self.

Every day you’re planting the seeds and you’re watering the seeds of your future self and you can trust that they are going to bloom into a beautiful tree. Your business will be like a beautiful tree with a solid foundation and deep roots.

Every Wednesday I don’t take on coaching clients. I block off my calendar and I up-level my business. I sit there and I upgrade things like I tweak my website wording or my LinkedIn profile. If I am intentional at doing this weekly, then it doesn’t become a big thing.

Everything is increasing and improving because of my consistent, little habits that I’ve developed.

A good example is me turning up on Facebook Live every Wednesday night. It’s a choice for me to be consistent.  I choose it because I know there are people out there who I can help.

It’s the little habits that don’t seem like a big deal but when you add them up they end up being habits that produce high-performance entrepreneurs.

5 – Be Intentional About How You Serve Others

A rich fulfilling life is a life that benefits others.

Every day I ask myself how I can serve my clients with excellence and make an extraordinary contribution in their lives today.

Instead of asking what do I want and how can I get it,  I ask myself; How can I bring more value to my tribe?  High-performance entrepreneurs are outwardly focussed, not inwardly focussed.

They don’t blame others. They realise that every result they have in their life is a result of what they have done. They don’t make excuses or live in denial.

Instead of getting stuck in their fears, they go to work and deal with their fears and doubts, because they want to be of service to other people.

5 Mindset Hacks for Facebook Live Videos

Paragraph

If you’re like most people that I speak to, you find the idea of going live on a video rather scary…

When I first got introduced to the idea of Facebook Live videos, I was terrified. I was used to editing my videos and I wanted them to be professional and polished.

But I realised Facebook Live videos are such a powerful way to connect with people. Plus, they are here to stay and if I didn’t jump on board, then I’d be left behind.

If you haven’t been getting the engagement that you want, the reach, connection or sales conversations booked in and you’re wondering why not, then you’re in the right place.

Facebook Live videos are so effective, because they build trust and rapport a lot faster than written posts.

As you get better at using this skill, you can grow your business fast using Facebook Live videos.

I heard an interesting statistic recently, that using companies who use videos in their marketing enjoy a 27% click through rate and 34% higher web conversions than those who don’t.

Mark Zuckerberg says:

“I see video as a mega trend, same order as mobile. That’s why I’m going to keep putting video first across our family of apps.”

You can make or break your business by avoiding videos altogether or by creating poor videos.

People remember about…

* 20% of what they hear

* 30% of what they see

* And 70% of what they see and hear

Video content is so much more memorable than written or audio.

Videos also enable you to help more people at one time. Instead of having one-on-one coaching conversations all day, you can jump on live on video and impart a message very fast to your community.

Whether people show up live, or whether they show up to the replay, you’re building your content library that’s hosted in Facebook. You can download the videos as well afterward and post them to YouTube.

If you want to be an influencer and inspire people to take action, the best way to build your community is through Facebook Lives.

They also open a lot of doors of opportunity for you. I constantly get asked to speak in other people’s Facebook groups and speak in online summits and events because I show up consistently on video.

To do Facebook Live videos well, the right mindset is key.

What we say is super important, but it’s only a small part of our communication. If you’re showing up without the right mindset, it can totally affect your Facebook Live video.

Today I’m going to share with you some powerful mindset tricks and tips so that you can show up more confidently, engage, build more trust and rapport with your followers, tribe and community.

There are the three main problems that I’ve discovered that people come up against when it comes to video:

1 – Fear of Judgment

Fear of judgment is a very common human fear. Something that helped me overcome that fear is only speaking to my people, my tribe. The people who aren’t my people will not watch this, they will be repelled by this.

Marketing is all about repelling the wrong people and attracting the right people.  It’s actually good for some people to judge you because that means you’re being bold and confident in your message.

You’re not watering it down and trying to be all things to all people. That’s the worst thing you can do as you miss your whole market.

People want to know that you understand them, value them and speak their language. It’s very hard to do that through the written word because all we see is typing and we can all look the same in typing.

We don’t all look the same on video, right? So accept the fact that there are going to be people who are judging you, but don’t worry about that.

I was so fearful of people judging me because I was judging me. And we attract what we project onto the world with our own limiting beliefs. I’m not judging myself anymore.

I see judgment as a good thing, as you know you’re in the success club when you have people judging you.

2 –  Imposter Syndrome

Imposter syndrome is a big one as a lot of people feel like they don’t know enough. We think if we’re going to talk on a topic, we need to know everything on that topic and if we don’t, then we’re a fraud.

Imposter syndrome is killing people’s dreams.

There are always going to be people who know more than you. And there’s always going to be people who know less than you. You don’t want to rob the people who can benefit from your message, teaching and inspiring stories.

No one else has your stories and your way of sharing things. There’s nothing new under the sun, but there’s different ways of teaching and applying different stories and experience, so your delivery is unique.

I used to have impostor syndrome because I was scared of those people that had Master’s degrees or PhDs in business.

But I’ve learned so much from running my own business for so many years, having hundreds of clients and spending thousands on education.

I used to think ‘Who am I?’, but I changed that mindset to ‘Why not me?’

3 –  Fear of Rejection

People often face the fear of rejection. Do you worry if friends may see your video and think, ’Who do they think they are?’

Or maybe you fear that you won’t be liked or you may be misunderstood?

Perhaps you fear that people may find out you don’t know everything about the subject and you therefore fear you will be rejected.

The problem with this fear is that it stops us from taking action and helping the people who really need and want it.

Is it time for you to stop fear robbing you from creating the success you want and helping more people?

So here are 5 mindset hacks for doing Facebook Lives:
1 – Identify the Fear

Most people have fear when it comes to doing Facebook Lives. You’re not alone. You’re in good company!

So the first step is to identify the specific fear. Call it out, tell it as it is. What is your fear?

For me, I feared that I would come across as silly. I feared that I would forget what I was going to say. I would fear that I was going to stumble across my words.

We need to step out in boldness and vulnerability. We need to shine a light on our fear.

Putting the light on is like at night and there’s cockroaches. They scurry into the dark. Similarly, when you put a light on your fear, it loses its power.

2 –  Remember Your Why

Love is a more powerful force than fear. Fear and love cannot exist together. You can’t feel loving towards yourself and fearful at the same time, because they are polar emotions.

It’s the same as with your passion. When you remember your passion and why it is so important for you to share your message, your why becomes bigger than your fear.

Remembering your why brings you back to gratitude. We get to put on a video and talk about something that we’re passionate about. I never want to take that for granted.

I’m so grateful that I get to show up on Facebook live videos. I don’t have to. I don’t think I should. I want to show up. My passion is strong enough to take me through fear.

My why stops me focussing on my fear. Humans do incredible things when they understand their why.  Your why is so powerful. When you understand your why, your fear will become insignificant.

3 –  Choose What to Believe

You get to choose what you believe. You can believe lies and limiting beliefs or you can choose healthy beliefs.

I believe it’s a privilege and honour to show up on Facebook Live. This is the mindset that I choose to believe.

I choose to believe people want to hear what I have to say. I choose to believe that what I have to say is valuable. If you focus on how hard it is or how scary it is, then you’re just going to spin your wheels and not move forward.

Facebook Live videos always bring me clients. People often private message me and say they want a free session after my Facebook Live.

I do what I do to help people, but one of the benefits of showing up and helping people on video is that those I help often become my clients.

4 –  Focus on Your Message

By focusing on your message, you take your eyes and focus off yourself.  If you’re really self-conscious about how you’re looking or how you’re sounding, then you won’t be focussing on your message.

I’m focusing on what I want to say and how I can best communicate this to you, so that you not only hear the information, but you take action.

When you focus on your message, your focus is turned off of you and onto those who you are serving.

5 –  Decide to Take Uncomfortable Action

You get to decide to take uncomfortable action. This is a powerful choice.

Doing a Facebook Live is uncomfortable especially at first. Your heart will probably race, you might sweat, stumble, find it hard to swallow. Your body will probably react because you’re stepping out of your comfort zone.

If things go wrong, it’s not a big deal. Worst case scenario, the internet doesn’t work and who cares? None of that matters!

We’ve got to show our brain that we can do things. That’s what entrepreneurs do. We don’t shy away from challenges. We show up. We take uncomfortable action and we take lots and lots and lots of action.

Your community wants to see you being consistent so that they trust you. It’s not about doing a Facebook Live every month or two. You need to consistently show up.

You don’t have to use notes, just talk about something that you know. Preparation is good, but sometimes I don’t have time to prepare.

I speak about what I know and because of that, it flows out of me. You’ve got to trust yourself, and that’s part of choosing what you believe.

If you don’t develop these skills, you will get left behind.

5 Ways to Future-Proof Your Business

We’re in interesting times and things are changing day-by-day. More than ever we need to be investing in our businesses by keeping up with trends, the current technology that’s available to us as business owners, and making sure that we’re not getting left behind.

If you’ve ever had thoughts about whether you want to go into business full time, part-time or have a side hustle for yourself, then you’ve probably thought about the fact that the world is changing a lot at the moment.

You may have questioned what this means for business owners? We’ve always got to be up-skilling and keeping current, so here are 5 ways that you can make sure that you future-proof your business.

Number 1 – Be Tech Savvy

Technology is evolving at a rapid rate, and if we want to future-proof our business, we’ve got to be able to keep up with it. As a business owner, here are 3 things I recommend you’re on top of regarding technology.

1. Video

Doing videos is important, especially at the moment as we can’t run live events. It’s so important that you get your skills up to speed with video software, Facebook Lives, plus online platforms like Zoom, where you can have group chats and conversations online.

There are so many amazing functionalities with Zoom. I was crewing and assisting in a coaching certification course over the last six days, where there were about 70 participants on the Zoom call. The International Coaching Federation changed their rules during the COVID-19 season, to be able to qualify coaches online.

We are now in a world where people can coach each other in an online platform, and I was able to jump into the different breakout rooms and assist and help people by observing their 1-1 coaching. It went from 10 am to 6:30 pm for six days.

At the end, they did a poll and 79% of people said that they enjoyed doing the event online, more than they did the live event, which I found fascinating.

It’s so important that you stay up to speed with technology and you don’t have to be a total tech whiz either. There are so many programs that are really user friendly, but you’ve got to learn it.

2. A C.R.M System

I also recommend that you make sure that you have a C.R.M (a customer relationship management system). It’s so essential to being able to email your clients in a professional and effective way.

Using a platform like Mail Chimp, you can separate out your audiences, segment your email list and target different people for different needs.

You can automate your emails and link it all to your other platforms.

And you CAN have a really automated business that runs smoothly and streamlined without losing a quality client experience.

3. Funnels

You also want to make sure you have landing page software. I love using ClickFunnels, it’s by far is the one that I find most user friendly, and it has most functionality for what I want to do.

I host my webinars, online course, and landing pages for 1-1 sessions, freebies, and events on ClickFunnels and it’s all automated and synced to auto-responders.

Funnels are life-changing! They allow simple automation and save LOADS of time.

I never thought that I would be the kind of person that would sit down and learn how to create marketing funnels, but I’m so grateful that I have because now I’ll get an idea, create the landing page in the funnel and everything is all set up.

I can do it in about 45 minutes now from start to finish. From an idea that I have in my head, all the way through to having the funnel set up in less than an hour.

4. Online Calendar

Automation is key with business. You want to make sure that you’ve got an online calendar that people can easily book in with you and also change appointments. I use Calendly and really like the functionality of it.

It saves loads of time going back and forth with people, and means people are more likely to book in because they’re doing it on the spot, rather than waiting for you to get back to them. It’s a game-changer.

5. Online Payment Processing

Having an effective online payment system is something you need when looking at automation, so you can take payments from people – and not end up being a bank! You don’t want to chase people for money. You want that system to be seamless.

You want to be able to send invoices to people, and it’s all done in an automated way rather than manually, so you save loads of time.

I promise you the technology is there, you can do it, but you do need to up-skill in that area.

Automation is an important key for how we future-proof our business. There can be a lot to learn, but if we don’t we’re just going to be left behind.

Number 2 – Build Your Personal Brand

Building your personal brand is so important.

A brand isn’t a logo, it’s not your pretty colours. That’s part of your branding. The most important thing in branding is that you’re showing up that you are giving value, and that you are helping people.

You are providing value with your content, your videos and through your writing.  It takes intentionality.

You always need to be visible, out there and talking to your people. There’s a tribe of people that you are here to serve.

You need to grow and develop your community and be a community leader. Step up as a thought leader. You have skills, knowledge, experience, stories, hard work and personality that makes up who you are and your brand.

No one is like you, as no one can do it the way you do it. No one has got your unique D.N.A, your unique mission here on this planet.

People are struggling and you can help them. You help people by showing up to your Facebook group and to your communities online, jumping onto video so that people can connect with you, giving value to your community – it’s all part of building your personal brand.

Number 3 – Extend Your Network

At the moment, we’re not going to in-person business breakfasts, seminars, workshops or conferences, but we’ve got an incredible opportunity to network in the online space.

What I recommend that you do in order to position yourself as someone who is a thought leader, has influence and adds value, is to start running your own online events.

There are a whole lot of things you can do – like a webinar, summit, Facebook challenge or one-day online workshops.

This helps you raise your positioning which can open up opportunities for you to be a guest speaker in other people’s spaces.

I’ve done about seven of these during this pandemic season. People have asked me to come on their podcasts, and I’ve done a range of summits and talks.

Put yourself out there by showing up online with value, so that you’re more likely get invited to be a guest speaker about your expertise.

It really gives you exposure and expands your reach. It puts you in touch with other audiences and networks. If you don’t have a big email database, then you want to tap into other people’s communities.

The reason I get invited is that people have gotten to know me, because I’ve built a Facebook group and a YouTube channel and I’ve consistently put out content. That’s when you start to really extend your networks and people start inviting you to speak and introducing you to their networks.

Number 4 –  Develop Your Key Skills

There are five main skills that I recommend that you develop if you want to future-proof your business.

1. Marketing Skills

Marketing skills are so important and investing in these skills will only help your business.

Be honest and rate yourself on a scale of 1-10 regarding how good you are at marketing, how good you are at attracting clients and running Facebook adverts. If your skills are on the lower end of the scale, then invest in some marketing training.

2. Sales Skills

How good are you at having sales conversations and being able to connect, engage and influence people? How good are you at getting money into your bank account by these conversations? If this is an area you are lacking in, then up-skill in sales.

3. Copywriting Skills

Having the ability to write in a way that draws people in is a key skill. How good are you at writing landing pages, sales letters, emails, captioning your social media posts? Rate yourself on a scale of 1-10. If you are on the lower end, then up-skill in copywriting.

4. Your Ability to Present

Your ability to speak on camera is key. Being engaging, building rapport and connection is important for future-proofing your business.

Being able to stand up in front of a group and present is a skill that if you can do it, you will easily be able to get clients  and you will also position yourself as an expert authority.

5. Technology Skills

Developing your tech skills is so important. Learning how to create funnels, put together landing pages, set up Zoom, synch your emails and calendars are important tech skills that are needed in business at this time.

I recommend that if things aren’t working for you, if you know that you’re not making as much money as you want to and don’t have as many client’s as you want, then commit to up-skilling to future-proof your business.

5 –  Build a Growth Mindset

A growth mindset embraces challenges. It loves a good challenge! That’s the entrepreneurial mindset. When problems come along, you don’t get dramatic, you don’t get emotional, you don’t get stuck in the problem, you don’t blame others and you don’t make excuses.

You are on! You’re switched and when the challenge comes, you know you’ve got this! This is a growth mindset. There are a lot of people that start in business and don’t make it, because they’ve got a nine-to-five mentality. They’ve got a fixed mindset.

It’s so important that we keep up-skilling and investing in our businesses, because businesses are an asset.

If we continue to invest time, energy and money, we will continue to future-proof our business.Want to know how to apply these strategies to your own business, so you can attract new paying clients?

How To Overcome Your Own Objections To Selling

This week I’ve been having lots of conversations with people about sales and the beliefs people have about selling.

With the current economic climate, the topic of whether people should be selling, discounting or holding back and retreating is in a lot of people’s minds.

People are wondering “Is it appropriate to sell during these times?”

There are a host of limiting beliefs coming to the surface during this coronavirus season.

This is highlighting the difference between people who truly believe they have something valuable to offer

I don’t know your unique business situation, but I wanted to offer some ways of thinking about it to help you out.

If you’re a business owner and your service genuinely helps and serves people and improves their life, sales is key.

Sales is the ONE THING that will improve your financial position and give you more of what you love.

Sales are the key to bringing you freedom in your business and in your life.

Marketing, copywriting and presenting are all things we need to do well, but ultimately if we can’t get people to put money into our bank accounts, we will never be truly free. We will always be working for someone else.

I’m talking to all leaders, coaches, consultants, educators, thought leaders and subject matter experts. If you are a heart-based business owner, this is for you.

I want to ask you a question: what comes to your mind when I say the words ‘selling is…’? What’s literally the first things that come to mind?

If you hold the belief that selling is in any way negative, such as scary of difficult, that’s going to affect your ability to sell. If you feel like sales is hard, why would you do it?  You’ll avoid it at all costs. And then your business will suffer.

Your very first reaction to the words ‘selling is’ and the definition you give the word ‘sales’ is going to determine your success in business.

The number one asset that you have when you’re selling is confidence. If you’re not confident in how your product or service will help someone, no one will buy from you.

There IS a way of selling, that is enjoyable for BOTH parties; it’s authentic and exciting. It gives both parties more of what they want. But first, you need to sell YOURSELF on selling.

Here are 5 ways to overcome your own objections to selling:

1 – Write Down all the Beliefs you Have About Selling

Be honest about your current beliefs around sales and write them down. Do you hold beliefs that sales are difficult? Do sales equate to fear of rejection for you?

Two of the most important needs that we have as human beings is to belong and the other need is to be accepted and not rejected. The truth is that in doing business, you will meet people who don’t like you or what your business stands for.

If you’re not willing to be hated by at least one person, then you’re not cut-out for business.

If you are trying to be all things to all people and avoid rejection, you won’t take risks and being in business takes being willing to take risks. I challenge you, be honest with yourself about your core beliefs around sales. The first step to change is being honest about where you are truly at.

2 – Identify Limiting Beliefs and Objections to Sales

Number 2 is to write down any limiting beliefs or objections you have about sales. Some of these would have come into your list in Number 1.

Do you believe selling is hard or awkward? Or do you have definitions of sales that are positive and empowering? What objections to selling and limiting beliefs around sales do you have?

Now circle all the beliefs that are empowering and cross out any beliefs that disempower and limit you.

Consider reframing these beliefs. Where you feel selling is scary, write down what you want to believe that is empowering, like selling is exciting. Write down what the opposite is of the negative and limiting belief.

If you want to start seeing sales as enjoyable, write down all the reasons why selling is fun and exciting. It means you are helping people and you are also making money from helping people.

3 – Sell Yourself on Selling

Sell yourself on all the reasons that selling is a positive and not a negative. Selling is caring for others and helping people which brings meaning to sales.

The number one thing that you can do to increase your financial position is to get brilliant at sales. Where you’re at right now is directly in proportion to your ability to sell.

There’s many other skills we need in business such as copywriting, marketing and presenting skills, but selling is the one thing that directly brings money into your bank account.

If you don’t have money in your bank account it’s because of your mindset around selling and it’s because of your mindset around your worth and your value. If you truly value yourself and what you do then why wouldn’t you sell it?

This is why I love selling because I genuinely help people improve their lives every single day. I coach and encourage people and they improve their lives. This is the power of what I offer, so I will never stop selling because it helps people change their lives completely. It’s a win-win.

We’ve been programmed to believe that selling is a bad thing and we need to break that conditioning, People assume selling is about greed and money-grabbing.  If you’re offering something to someone who doesn’t need it, then you’re not really selling, you’re manipulating.

When you overcome your fear of rejection in sales, it can become fun. Reframe your beliefs around selling to understand that you are enhancing people’s lives. The money follows when you really want to help people.

4 – Write Down Why Selling Will Give You More of What You Want

You’re improving someone’s life by selling them your product or service. You’re helping others and in return, you are also helped. You are going to get so much satisfaction and joy if you can sell during a difficult period.

The financial crisis has not peaked yet. In fact, maybe in five or six months time, the government will take away its help and banks will stop putting pauses on loans. This is the time when there is government and bank assistance so it’s a great time to sell.

Think of all the people that you can help through the lows. There is so much opportunity for freedom at this time. And sales gives you the freedom to enjoy in life what you want to enjoy.

If I didn’t know how to sell I wouldn’t have freedom.  I wouldn’t be able to work full time in my business and be an entrepreneur.

Without sales, I’d be stuck in a job that I didn’t enjoy. I’ve been there and I hated life. I was miserable, depressed, moody and tired all the time. I don’t want to go back there.

I made friends with sales and I’m so glad I did as it keeps me living my purpose.

One of the best things you can do for yourself and for your business is to make selling your friend.

5 – Give Your Brain Evidence That Sales is Enjoyable

Prove to your brain that selling is enjoyable. Rather than just saying affirmations and trying to believe them, prove it by taking action.

People are always asking me how to find clients. I tell them that their clients are already out there, on their  laptop or on the phone. You need to reach out and tell them that you can help them. You need to risk rejection and risk someone saying no.

Just ask questions.

For example “Are you still looking for help with growing your business or with improving your home or losing weight?”

Ask people how they are going during this time and if they need help with whatever it is you do.

You can offer a free session, and just use it to give back to people.  About 90% of the sales conversations I have with people is them talking to me and me listening, coaching and helping them.

I don’t even think of these conversations as sales conversations, as I genuinely know I can help people.

It’s amazing the number of business owners that I talked to who are struggling to make money and they can’t afford to pay for Facebook ads. This is most likely because they are not having enough sales conversations.

If you want to know the best way to sell during these current times, I recently ran a FREE 90-minute masterclass called ‘Selling Equals Service’

It was a powerful session and I received lots of great feedback afterwards.

I talked through 5 keys to effective selling and shared a 6-step VALUES based selling framework that I personally use and share with my clients.

In case you missed it, I’ve created a replay which is now available for the next 48 hours. ?
