How I Overcame My Biggest Fears About Running Online Events

Do you struggle with procrastination when it comes to running online events?

Fear is often the main reason holding us back from reaching our next level of presenting.

Overcoming these fears is crucial for becoming a confident and impactful leader in your field. I’ve personally experienced this and wasted a lot of time due to a lack of confidence.

However, I learned strategies to conquer my presentation fears and want to share them with you.

Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, there is always a next level for you to achieve.

If fear is stopping you from taking that step or presenting consistently, it’s important to address and overcome it.

Let me help you understand and overcome your fears so that you can show up powerfully, connect with your community, and attract more ideal clients.

Watch the video here…
Here are the 3 strategies to help you overcome fear…
1. Focus on the person who needs you

Overcome the fear of rejection by imagining you’re speaking to one person who needs your help. Connect with their struggles and offer your valuable insights to improve their life.

Avoid letting fear hinder your ability to reach out and connect with others.

2. Take courageous action consistently

Challenge your beliefs and stop choosing to believe thoughts that hold you back.

Act despite feeling fear, as confidence and progress is linked to taking brave actions.

Overcome overthinking and perfectionism by practising and publicly presenting. Don’t wait for feelings to change; take action now to avoid staying stuck in fear.

3. Follow a Formula

Address the specific concerns that arise when presenting, such as not knowing what to say or how to structure your presentation.

Seek the right tools, skills, and support to overcome these fears and allow your business to thrive.

Having a proven formula or strategy can yield proven results and guide you towards success.

By implementing these three strategies—focusing on your audience, taking consistent action, and following a formula—you can overcome fear and confidently shine in online presentations and events.

The 5 Most Costly Presentation Mistakes To Avoid

Do you want to shine in your online presentations?

But do you ever find yourself on camera, feeling like your authentic self is hidden beneath a bundle of nerves?

Or perhaps your audience just isn’t as engaged and responsive as you had hoped.

After delivering thousands of presentations, I’ve discovered 5 critical mistakes that can make or break your presentations, which impacts your engagement and trust.

In this video, I share these mistakes and provide practical solutions to make your presentations a powerful client-converting asset…

Watch the video here…
Here are the 5 strategies…
1. Focusing too much on yourself

When you’re presenting, the more you think about yourself, the more you’ll feel fear because you’re thinking about looking good and avoiding looking bad.

Every day that you’re stuck in fear and avoiding helping people, someone is suffering.

The key to reducing your fear and feeling confident is focusing on the audience.

2. Neglecting Influence Skills

A lot of people put too much focus on what they want to teach – rather than on influential content – which is content that inspires action.

Are the facts you’re presenting inspiring and educating enough to inspire people to take action?

If not, then it’s not just information that blends in with the noice.

3. Losing the audience with extremes

It’s essential to find the right balance in the way you deliver your presentation.

When a presentation is underwhelming, it means that it hasn’t been crafted to provide the audience with shifts in perspective and new inspiration. This can result in a disengaged and uninterested audience.

Being too overwhelming is presenting excessive information, utilising complex visuals, or diving into a high level of technicality that may overwhelm and confuse your audience.

4. Being unprofessional

Being professional involves rehearsing, optimising your environment for clear audio, using good lighting, setting up your device properly, starting on time, using professional PowerPoints, and taking time to craft a highly valuable presentation.

Professionalism is not perfectionism, however. You can still be personable.

It’s about giving the most value while still being yourself and it really helps to add your personality and flavour to it.

5. Speaking without structure

You don’t want to just give people a whole heap of content or information and leave people to have to figure out what to do with it.

People want organised knowledge.

You want to make it digestible and palatable for them, by breaking it down into steps or pillars using an effective structure.

If you want more help with this, just message me and let’s chat.

The Little-Known Secrets for Structuring a High-Converting Presentation

I’m sharing some powerful strategies for structuring a high-converting presentation based on my extensive experience of running over 350 events in the past decade.

Hosting online events is a fantastic way to reach a wider audience, establish credibility, and attract new clients.

It allows you to showcase your expertise and provide valuable content without the pressure of one-on-one sales calls.

Additionally, running events simplifies program launches, enabling you to help more people, earn more money, and make a bigger impact.

In this video, I share 3 proven steps to launching your first or next online event with some of my top tips and tricks so you’ll be well-set up for success.

Watch the video here…
Here are the three steps that every presentation should have…
1. The Intro

The intro is crucial for making a strong first impression and building rapport with your audience.

To achieve this, focus on the following key pillars of an ideal intro:

  • Position yourself as the expert and the best person to help your audience achieve their desired outcomes.
  • Show your audience why they can succeed and why your method is the most effective.
  • Establish expert positioning through a title slide and an MC intro that highlight your skills and experience.
2. The Content

When delivering your content, it’s important to cater to different learning styles and engage both the logical and creative aspects of your audience’s thinking.

Avoid overwhelming them by selecting 3 or 4 key points and supporting them with stories and data.

Each key point should challenge a belief to drive meaningful change.

3. The Offer

After providing valuable content, it’s time to present your offer.

Clearly communicate the specific action you want your audience to take, as the purpose of education is to inspire new action.

Emphasise that applying the information is essential for true benefits. Make sure your offer is aligned with your audience’s needs and clearly explain the next steps for working with you.

If you want more help with this, just message me and let’s chat.

Launch Your Online Event With Success Using 3 Proven Steps

Want to grow your coaching business using a reliable, predictable method?

Online events are my #1 recommendation for attracting clients fast and consistently.

If you’re willing to learn how to do it, you can create an incredibly valuable asset that you can use for the rest of your life.

The people who tell me that they have been afraid of it and push through the fear and do it anyway often say to me “I wish I did it sooner”

… if you’re willing to not only learn how to do it but actually do it consistently so you get better at it and develop the skill, you will have an incredible asset that you can use for the rest of your life.

A lot of people tell me they have no idea how to consistently grow their coaching business in a way that leverages their time.

They’re either doing endless posting of content or constantly on sales calls. Being busy with their one-on-one clients, admin, finances, website, and social media – all the things that go with running a business.

Switching from sharing 1-to-1 to 1-to-many is something that can really solve that for you.

In this video, I share 3 proven steps to launching your first or next online event with some of my top tips and tricks so you’ll be well-set up for success.

Watch the video here…
Launch your online event with success using 3 proven steps
Here are the 3 proven steps to consider…
1. Warm up

The warm up phase is where you warm up your audience and followers to develop trust and connection and increase the likelihood that people will sign up for your event.

Let’s say you suddenly announce that you have an event coming up and you haven’t been posting regularly before that.

You haven’t been sharing content and you haven’t been going on video. You haven’t been educating your audience.

Without warming up those people you’re not giving yourself the best possible chance of having people sign up and show up.

The number one reason why people don’t sign up for your event is that they think they’re not going to get a return on investment. A return on their time and on their energy.

I always recommend that you have a pre-event marketing campaign in place before you launch your online event.

This is designed to build a connection with your audience. People want to know that you’re relatable. They want to feel they know you. They want to like and trust you.

2. Sign up

In order for people to sign up for your online event there are certain important things that you need to have on your landing page.

Here are the most essential ones.

I call them the 5 magic Ps:

  • Problem – what problem is your event going to solve?
  • Prescription – what are the learning outcomes that you’re going to teach to help overcome their problem
  • Promise – make sure that you have a clear and specific promise
  • Pathway – what is the step-by-step pathway?
  • Process – what’s the process of joining, the logistics, date and time etc.
3. Show up

The show-up phase is all about getting people to show up to your event.

We do this through emails, a social media campaign, SMS, and by video.

We also keep posting content that is overcoming their biggest objections.

They’re seeing it in an email. They’re seeing it on Facebook ads. They’re seeing it come through on stories.

There are constant reminders of why they should come.

It’s not just “come, come, come” – it’s strategic content.

If you’re willing to run online events…
You can sell out your offers and get booked out fast

Making an offer to multiple people is like a clean sweep you don’t have all these sales calls booked knowing that a certain percentage are going to sign up. It happens really quickly.

I remember doing a workshop once and completely filled up my program and for three months I didn’t have to do any marketing because my program was full from this one event.

You start to attract and sign up ongoing, quality clients on ‘repeat’

You have the system you roll it out every month or every quarter, however long you want to do it and you can trust the system. It rapidly delivers certainty.

You massively leverage your time

You have an asset that sets you up for future success. You don’t have to get stuck doing 1-on-1 sales calls or endlessly posting content.

If you’re willing to do it – even if you don’t know how, even if you’re scared – you’ll have an incredibly valuable asset.

It will help you be seen as an expert and develops massive connection and trust.

Over the last decade, I’ve run over 350 events, and I’ve created a proven system that’s predictable and helps you master the skill of running awesome events that people love and it signs up clients.

Hope this has been helpful.

Big love,

Kat xo
