The Annual Business Success Planner

A lot of people start dreaming about what they want for the following year.

But so many times it ends there. They don’t plan how to make it happen.

Without a plan, many dreams die.

With the planning I do with my clients, we turn dreams into tangible actions so we actually achieve them.

If you want your business to grow month after month next year…we’ve got some planning to do.

If you’re thinking…“Kat, I’m not good at planning.”

I get it. Neither was I.

My sister Vicki (the most future-focused person I know) once said to me “What do you imagine for next year?”

I was embarrassed to admit it.

I hadn’t imagined anything.

Let alone planned for it.

I realised I didn’t have a process for planning.

So what did we do? We started planning my next year.

It CHANGED my year. And my life!

Being able to dream and plan your year out in one go…

…then spending the next year just doing what you planned… it’s very freeing.

You feel in FULL control over your year.

But it took a change of mindset.

A mindset of planning how to achieve what I want and being intentional to create it.

Rather than “seeing what happens”

And it was worth it.

Now, I want to help you do the same.

Because planning is like laying out a pathway for 2023.

The moment you come back from your holiday break, you just get back on the path and keep going.

You don’t lose momentum.

Talking about this gets me so EXCITED for next year!

If planning feels like an overwhelming task to you… I’ve got you.

In this video I share:

The Annual Success Planner

It’s a 5 step framework to help you map out your business dreams, goals, and actions.

You can check out the video here…
The annual business success planner

Here’s the Annual Success Planner Framework:

1. Dream

This is a ‘WHAT you want’ list, not HOW you’re going to get it. Consider what you want to achieve, be, do, have, eliminate, reduce, and improve.

Include personal dreams in this list that affect your business – YOU are the most important asset in your business!

Here are 3 great questions that can help you with this process:

  • What would I do in my business if I knew I could not fail?
  • What would I do if I had all the time and resources I needed?

What would I do if I had all the courage and self-belief I needed?

2. Goals

Turn your dreams into goals. There are no rules on how many goals you set.

Choose what feels both inspiring and doable for you.

Some of the things you want don’t have a time frame, because they are habits. These goals don’t have an end time frame.

Results goals typically are achievements and have an end date (like publishing a book.)

For each goal, write down why it’s important to you. This will strengthen your desire to achieve the goal when the going gets tough.

Having compelling reasons why you want to achieve your goals helps you pursue them, and it’s a good way to check they’re aligned with your values.

3. How

These are the things you need to do specifically to make your goals happen.

Here are a few examples:

  • Be consistent in my content creation
  • Create a new lead magnet every quarter
  • Have daily conversations with ideal clients
  • Run a workshop every quarter

4. Action Plan

Now it’s time to create milestones and single action steps so you know exactly what to do next!

Things to consider:

  • What are the resources you need to achieve the goal?
  • What systems will support the goals?
  • Am I covering all areas of business?
For example content creation, community, website, email, video, social media, finances, processes & systems, team, skill development and so on.

Example Action Plan

1. What is your #1 desired outcome for the next 30-90 days?

Get 10 new coaching clients

2. What is 1 goal to achieve this outcome?

Run a workshop

5. Review

It’s unlikely your plan is going to be perfect the first time you write it, so block out time in your calendar to REGULARLY revisit your goals and plan.

Make sure your calendar includes actions that lead to your goals.

Read through this planner and make any notes and changes to your goal list and action plan and adjust any times in your calendar to do the actions.

Progression is the goal, not perfection.

You will experience setbacks and that’s ok. Relax, smile, and keep going.

I hope this has been super helpful for you.

The Content Sweet Spot That Appeals To All Buying Types

Do you want to know how to create content that deeply resonates with your soul-mate clients?

When you’re creating content and it’s not leading to clients, it can feel disheartening.

One reason people don’t convert their content into clients is because they’re only creating content ONE way.

They aren’t appealing to multiple buying types.

Most of us have been told to focus on ONE person – one avatar.

I understand why this is taught, and it can have its benefits.

However, the reality is – we are never just speaking to one person.

MULTIPLE people read your content and watch your videos.

Meaning, there are…

  • Multiple personality types
  • Multiple learning styles
  • Multiple delivery preferences
  • Multiple buying types

Yes – it’s important to be your true authentic self.

It’s also important to remember that there are multiple ways of people absorbing what you share.

You can be YOU and also share YOU in different ways.

And that you can serve MANY different people who are wired differently to you.

This is about being adaptable and flexible to the people who can benefit from our content. It’s being client-centric in our approach.

If you want to get more clients, you need to make sure you are appealing to a range of different people’s preferences.

This means you need to FORGET about just having ONE avatar…

…and appeal to multiple buying-types, so that you don’t miss out on reaching 75% of your audience.

In this video I share:

The Content Sweet Spot That Appeals To All Buying Types

It’s a simple, powerful tool you can use to identify where you’re sitting in the ‘Content Spectrum.‘

…and which of the 10 dials you need to turn up or down in order to attract more of your right-fit clients.

You can check out the video here…

The Content Sweet Spot

StrongWarm
ProfessionalPersonal
LogicalEmotional
CredibilityHumility
PainPleasure
Which side does your content sit more on?

Are there ways you’d like your content sit more in the middle sweet spot?

When you know how to use elegant influence to create compelling content…

…your marketing becomes easier, faster, and more enjoyable, and you show up with more confidence.

You connect better with your ideal clients and you attract more of the right clients into your business that you can help.

Take care my friends and remember – Keep showing up. Keep sharing.

The world is waiting for your words. They matter…

3 Surprising Ways To Be A More Confident Presenter.

If you have your business online, we know that we need to be showing up regularly and presenting on video.

If you’re like a lot of business owners that I speak to, it can be really challenging to show up confidently as a presenter, because this skill is not natural.

A lot of people say to me, “You just seem so natural.”

This is a trained skill to be able to stare at a lens and engage people. There’s lots going on behind the scenes.

If you imagined an iceberg, there’s a surface of what you’re seeing.

There’s a lot underneath that makes a presentation engaging. That makes someone come across as confident, as trustworthy, as influential as someone that they want to follow.

It’s a trained skill.

We’re all born not being able to talk yet we learn how to speak. Most of us can easily get out 1000s and 1000s of words a day.

When it comes to public speaking, a lot of people freeze even if they’re sitting in the safety of their lounge room at home.

If you’re not confident when you share on video, whether that’s on a Zoom event, or a Facebook Live, or in your prerecorded videos where you’re showing up on camera.

If you don’t show up confident people don’t trust you as much.

There’s a lot of research that shows that women generally aren’t as confident when it comes to showing up and presenting as men.

I was talking to a mentor of mine, David Blustery recently, and he was saying, you know, a bloke will watch a TED Talk and go, Yep, I’m an expert.

A woman will do a diploma and think she has to do another diploma, to feel good enough.

It was interesting that he said that because I’ve noticed working with hundreds of women and men I’ve observed that.

I believe women tend to be a bit tougher on ourselves. We need to develop our confidence and be able to step into our power as business women.

I think there’s a fear that we will come across as too masculine, too direct, too pushy.

Too much in our masculine if we want to come across as powerful.

True Confidence is being our authentic self. Being in our genius zone.

True Power is when we are able to show up elegantly and authentically be ourselves but also  to show up with confidence.

  • Imagine that you had absolutely unlimited confidence.
  • Imagine what would you do differently?

If you had unlimited confidence…

If you just had no fear of what anybody thought…

…no fear, no doubt no comparison.

How would you show up differently in business?

What would you do differently?

If confidence is something you want to improve on as a presenter, and also if you’re serious about enjoying the incredible benefits this video will help you.

At yesterday’s workshop “How To Get Clients With Online Workshops” I asked the ladies what they found challenging about presenting.

The five most common things shared were:
  • Fear of looking stupid or incompetent
  • I talk myself out of it by thinking others are more experienced and ahead of the game than me
  • Feeling like I look like I don’t know what I’m doing/talking about
  • Wondering if people really want what I have
  • Feeling like there’s too many people out there who do what I do and no one will ever see me

These are blocks that hinder us from showing up in our fullness, and sharing our message with the world.

There were three light bulb moments I had that allowed me to overcome my fear of presenting…

I had a massive fear of presenting…

I would always be so nervous, really fearful…

…not just like, “Oh, I feel a bit nervous,”…

…butterflies.

…full on bright red, anxious, heart racing the works.

If confidence is something that you want to improve focus on these three things.

1. Make your purpose bigger than your fears

Many people fear speaking to a group, because at a primal level, we want to be part of a tribe to feel safe.

If we go right back to our ancestors, sitting around a campfire, and people are looking at us. If they see something in us that causes us to be exposed and expelled from the tribe.

In our ‘hind’ brain or reptilian brain, we feel at an unconscious level that if we speak up – we could die!

But I believe that this fear is one reason public speaking is so powerful. It’s scarce to find people who are actually good at it.

I think that the reason not many people are good at it is – is because we are wired to be afraid of it.

It’s not until we override that fear with our big WHY that we can move through the fear to get our message out.

2. Overcome nervous with service

It’s not about you – it’s about your message.

When you’re speaking to people, the more you think about yourself, the more you’ll feel fear because you’re thinking about looking good and avoiding looking bad.

If you’re speaking and you’re constantly thinking about how you’re looking, how you’re sounding, what people are thinking, wondering if people are judging you etc. – you’re going to increase your fear.

When you focus on the audience and your message, you get downloads come to you and new insights come out of you because you’re PRESENT.

It’s about your message coming through you. THAT can reduce the fear.

I believe we all have a message to bring forth and a mission to fulfill on this planet to fulfill. If you don’t do it, no one else is going to do it.

So focus on the change you can help someone make in their life.

3. Focus on your genius zone and bring unbelievable value

I always think – if you focus on value, your price doesn’t usually become an issue. People who want to argue with your price, usually aren’t ready for the value you bring.

If you focus on price, you’re always trying to justify the value.

If you don’t work in your genius zone, you will keep having to justify the price

Remember to prize Yourself

Entrepreneurs aren’t charities

When you’re passionate about your niche…

…and you have really specialised knowledge.

You have the right to bring confidence.

If confidence is something you want to improve on as a presenter, and also if you’re serious about enjoying the incredible benefits of…

  • Exponentially building your business
  • Becoming someone that more people listen to
  • Sharing your message in a greater way
  • Helping more people
  • Being an inspiring role model

…the key is to upskill yourself as a presenter.

How To Attract More Clients Using Facebook Live Videos

Want to know the fastest way to build more trust, offer more value, and attract more leads online?

Going live on video is one of the best ways to grow your audience, connect with your community, and powerfully position yourself as an expert.

If you’re like most people that I speak to, you might find going live on a video pretty scary.

When I first got introduced to the idea of Facebook Live videos, I was terrified.

But I realised I needed to get over that because Facebook Live videos are so effective. They build trust and rapport a lot faster than written posts.

Research also shows that people who use videos in their marketing on average get a 27% higher click-through rate and 34% higher conversion than those who don’t.

Videos can open a lot of doors of opportunity for you.

A lot of people find that when they consistently go live on video, they are much more likely to get asked to speak in other people’s Facebook groups, speak in online summits, and be seen as an authority on your topic.

In this video, I share…

  • A simple, yet powerful 5-step process that you can use to show up more confidently in your Facebook live videos
  • How to guarantee your Facebook Live videos get more engagement
  • How to build more trust and rapport with your audience
  • How to use live videos to have people regularly reaching out to you, so you never again how to worry where your clients are coming from

Here are some highlights from the video…

1. ATTENTION

We all have an internal subconscious ‘gate-keeper’ that helps us decide which videos to watch…and which ones to scroll past.

A Harvard study showed that over 90% of our decisions are made subconsciously.

So with our videos, if we don’t speak directly to the subconscious mind, it rarely gets attention.  To get someone’s attention, we need to understand the values of our ideal clients.

2. WHY

To maintain attention, it’s important to talk about ‘why’ the topic is important before you go into teaching anything.

People switch off if they don’t realise the importance of what you’re sharing.

3. CREDIBILITY

This is where you want to share why you’re qualified to speak on the topic.

Before you teach anyone anything, I recommend you always pre-frame it by sharing why they can trust you and why you’re the person to listen to.

4. TEACH

When you teach, you want to make sure you have organised your knowledge clearly, so you don’t waffle on.

When you’re thinking about what content to teach – think of the coolest possible things you’ve learned about the topic.

5. CALL TO ACTION

The whole purpose of your video is for the people watching it to take a new action.

So make sure you always have a call to action at the end of your live videos.

The action could be a new behaviour, join your course, jump on a discovery call with you, come to your event – whatever the next best step is.

So that’s the 5-step formula for attracting clients using live video.

Hope this is helpful.

This is one small piece out of my entire client attraction formula. It’s one piece of what I call the client attraction bridge.

It’s one thing to do a video, it’s another thing to be able to convert that video to leads and to paying clients, which is a whole different skill.

So if you haven’t had your client attraction strategy session with me, I’d like to invite you into one of these free sessions.

If you’d like to have a personalised marketing strategy send me a DM on Facebook and we’ll chat over Messenger to make sure it’s a great fit for you.

Literally thousands of people have been through one of these strategy sessions, and realised they were wasting an incredible amount of time. After the session, they shifted what they’re doing and moved forward rapidly.

By applying the strategy of an expert, rather than trying to piece together everything by themselves, they were able to double, triple, and in some cases 5x their results in half the time.

If it is, I’ll give you all the details to get you started. It will be a very exclusive small group so that everyone gets personal coaching with me about how to use your content to attract the right clients.

In the strategy, I’ll be able to identify and show you the exact reason you’re not attracting more clients consistently, and exactly what to change to be able to attract clients 3-5x faster.

So if you haven’t had your strategy session with me yet, send me a DM on Facebook now.

Until next time…

Keep shining, keep sharing. The world is waiting for your words.

Kat

3 Sneaky Content Mistakes That Could Be Tripping You Up

Ever feel like you hit the content jackpot with a killer post so you share it, and it only get a few likes from your old faithfuls (aka, your best friends)?

Yeah, that sux.

Content is a powerful tool that can spark emotion. It can build connection. It can inspire new ways of thinking and invite action. Content creation is an important part of a trust-building marketing strategy.

So why is it so hard to get your content to consistently engage people?

It usually comes down to some sneaky content mistakes that a lot of people don’t realise they’re making. ⠀

And it’s really hurting their brand. In a lot of ways, it’s having the opposite effect they want and actually putting people off.

If you don’t have an effective content strategy and you’re posting randomly, it can actually add to people’s overwhelm and confusion.

We want to speak directly to our dream, soul-connected clients and elegantly communicate our value to them.

There are people out there haaaaanging for the help you provide, but without a great content strategy, most of them currently can’t find you.

People, with problems you can solve, are wading through Facebook right now… and if you’re not jumping out to them with your content, it’s probably because your words aren’t crafted to be as compelling as they could be.

It’s not because you’re not awesome, it’s because your content isn’t grabbing and keeping their attention.

Your word choice has the ability to produce a flick of the finger or a pause and consume.

Tiny tweaks make big leaps.

If you want to attract new clients fast, learning how to create compelling content is a priority. If you’re using online events as a lead generation strategy, which is what I recommend for most coaches and experts, it’s really hard to get people to those events without compelling content that invites them to it.

Compelling content strategically grows your audience, it attracts your ideal clients and inspires the right people to buy from you and you can do it in a way that FEELS good to you.

So here are the 3 biggest mistakes that could be tripping you up.

1. You don’t have a well-thought-out content strategy

A lot of people are fumbling around in the dark, posting all sorts of things on social media without a content strategy. And it’s really hurting their brand and in a lot of ways, putting people off.

If you don’t have a strategy, it can actually add to people’s overwhelm and confusion. It can be a disservice to your followers. When you have a strategy, it’s like having a map that shows you the journey that people go on.

Here is an example.

Carl likes to go for a walk around his block every day. He does the exact same journey – turns left out of his block, then right until the next street, then left, etc. He remains safe and within close distance to his home.

Sally, on the other hand, is spontaneous. Sally loves stepping out of her house with no plan, no direction, and just follows her nose. She loves finding new places and often gets lost but, she loves the thrill of it.

Neither of these are right or wrong.

So, are you more of a Cautious Carl or Spontaneous Sally?

If you’re like Cautious Carl in your content, you’re probably staying safe and predictable. You probably aren’t ever rocking the boat. You’re probably not trying new things and are sticking to just one type of content… it could be becoming a bit boring and you’re probably blending in.

If you are a Carl type, the more you continuously walk around the block, the more you can become blind to the things around you. The walk can become monotonous and you’re no longer as bright-eyed and alert. Instead, it can become boring and repetitive.

If you’re a Sally type you may lack some structure. You want to discover new places but without any sense of direction, you might not reach your desired destination.

If you’re like Spontaneous Sally in your content, you’re probably trying different types of content and sharing lots of different topics. You might be using the latest trends eg. TikTok, reels, Clubhouse, or Instagram Stories.

You probably post when you’re inspired but have gaps in content consistency. You might be fun to watch but your audience can’t fully rely on you to deliver consistent and reliable value.

You don’t want your content marketing strategy to become monotonous (like Carl) and, if you have no strategy in place like Sally, you’ll probably be overwhelmed and frustrated without direction.

But what if Carl and Sally each used a map? A map allows you to see where you are, where you want to go, and the best way to get there.

A map allows you to see where you are, where you want to go, and the best way to get there.

And, that’s why you need a solid content strategy.

2. You’re Not Creating Enough Curiosity

I say this all the time because a lot of people miss it, and it will never stop being true…

The main job of your marketing content is to create curiosity. If you’re not creating a feeling of curiosity for your reader or viewer, they will scroll away.

Giving away valuable content for free is the name of the game, but you can’t “give away the farm” and leave nothing to be desired.

So what do we do instead? We need to give value, AND open a void – a door that shows them what else they need to know.

I call it the ‘Void-Value Dance’.

This is where you highlight a void – you tell them all about a problem they have, showing them that you understand that problem completely and intimately – because you used to have the same problem. Then you give them value to solve it.

But there’s a second important step. You then open up a NEW void.

Give value, open a void –-> Give value, open a void –-> Give value, open a void

It’s like opening a new door to a new problem. It’s also known as ‘tension-relief’.

Most people don’t know how to give value, but not give away too much. If you give people a false sense of their problem being solved, you’re actually doing them a disservice.

I give a lot of value away for free but there’s so much I DON’T share for free. There’s a whole roadmap people get when we work together.

People pay for a path.

People need to work closely with you in order to have a transformation. We very rarely transform just from information.

3. You’re Not Inspiring Action

A lot of people struggle to inspire their followers to take action.

I used to find this really hard too. I loved sharing helpful advice, but I rarely asked people to take the next step.

When I realised this was hurting my business, I got more strategic.

It’s not about selling, it’s about inviting people to take the next best action towards you. That’s how you can best help them solve their problem!

Maybe it’s sharing about a free resource or event, or inviting them to have a strategy session with you. Make sure you add the benefits of taking the action.

I call this being ‘elegantly influential’.

A lot of people don’t add the right kind of CTA – ‘Call To Action’.

The CTA is where the magic happens. However, your CTA’s won’t work if you don’t understand the right type and placement that’s needed, according to your client journey.

You need the right kind of CTA –
‘Call To Action’.

An effective CTA provides your reader or viewer with the next best logical step.

A lot of people try to rush the process from cold to hot (getting someone from a Facebook ad into a call with them) and they don’t think about where someone is in their client journey. They make a high-commitment ask and they haven’t developed enough trust yet.

You also want to avoid using the passive voice (e.g. “Let us know”, “If you want”) in your CTAs. Use verbs that compel people to take action — “Click here”, “Read now”, etc.

So let’s do a review.

If we did an audit on your business…

1. Do you have a well-thought-out content strategy that’s predictable and profitable?

2. Is your content creating enough curiosity?

3. Are you inspiring people to take action?

Without your content leading to action that involves taking the next step towards you, it’s very hard to build a profitable business that helps people.
