How to fall more in love with your business in 2023

Do you want to have a business you LOVE in 2023?

Getting back into work mode after a holiday is not always easy. But what helps is having a business that you LOVE!

Why is it SO important to YOU that you LOVE your business?

For me, it’s important because

  1. I show up better for people
  2. I experience more joy
  3. I’m more inspired and creative
  4. I create better work
  5. It keeps me in this for the long-game

Are you building a business that you actually love?

Many people waste a lot of time in business because they are fighting so much resistance. They’re not motivated because they’re not in love with their business. There’s a lot of wasted energy and they end up exhausted.

When we’re in the swing of the year we can just get caught up in what we’re doing, but this is a perfect time to check in with what we actually want and need to have a business we love.

I am currently in a season of feeling completely loved up.

I’ve met a special someone that I feel is absolutely my person and I feel waves of joy, warmth, and fuzzy all over. I am absolutely melting and excited and grateful and so happy.

You know what I’m talking about right? We’ve all experienced it.

So – in your business, are you madly in love? Are you steady and strong? Are you feeling excited? Or have you fallen out of love with each other?

In this video, I shared:

1. 3 key essentials that make you fall in love with your business

2. The #1 activity I use to motivate myself into action

3. How to run your business in 2023 by design – not default, so you LOVE IT!

You can check out the video here…
How to fall more in love with your business in 2023.
The 3 key essentials that make you fall in love with your business
1. Focus on how you want to feel

Human beings are feeling machines. Everything we do, we do for a feeling.

So instead of starting with goals, start with feelings.

That means – you focus on how you want to feel – you don’t focus on what you don’t want to feel.

It’s so important to TUNE OUT ANY COMPARISON with what other people are doing – unless it’s to inspire you.

There’s absolutely NO reason to think that you should have done anything more over the holidays than you do – or in any way think that you’re behind. You’re not behind.

Forget what everyone else is doing. Who cares if there are other coaches who have been posting consistently over the holidays, and who already have put offers out.

Just tune it out.

What you have to offer right now is valuable.

The time you’ve taken off was needed.

There’s no reason to look back.

Your power to create and deliver awesomeness is still there and there is no need to compare yourself to anyone else right now.

Exactly where you are at is perfect.

Focusing on the past can bring up negative feelings.

Good feelings often come when we focus on our why.

My challenge to you is to remind yourself why you love your business so much.

As you do this, you might realise there are aspects of your business you don’t love that you’re not willing to do and you want to break up with them.

It could be an offer or a program or a system or a way of doing things that doesn’t bring you joy anymore.

If what you decided last year for this year doesn’t make sense anymore, feel free to let it go.

You were doing your best then, and now you can see more clearly.

If you have been doing something for years that is boring you to tears, think of something new or a way to tweak it to bring you more excitement again.

Nothing good comes out of continuing to flog a dead horse.

Maybe you need to:

  • Outsource tasks that you find monotonous or aren’t in your skillset to someone else
  • Streamline your processes to make things run more smoothly
  • Join a community with high-energy, enthusiastic members
  • Look for new opportunities
  • Learn a new skillset
  • Stay true to what matters most to you.

What words do you want to feel this year?

Here are some ideas.

Joyful. Easeful. Powerful. Peaceful. Stress-free. Lit-up. On fire. Excited. Energised. On track. Abundant. In flow. Supported.

Choose your words. I recommend you choose 3.

2. Write down what brings you those feelings

So what is it that you want this year in order to feel those feelings? What do you want your business to be like?

Write some notes. Some actions or statements or mantras. Whatever will help you. You might like to write down what you need to believe in order to feel these words.

Here’s what I wrote:

This year…

  • I allow myself plenty of time, margins and spaciousness
  • I say no to stress
  • I let go of anything that doesn’t feel alive or light me up any more
  • I refuse to judge myself harshly
  • I refuse to compare myself to others
  • I only consume content that inspires me
  • I regularly get out in fresh air and nature
  • I prioritise quality relationships and fun

The 3 words I chose was peaceful, energised and abundant.

3. Take action according to your values

Now write down the actions you need to take to make it happen.

For example:

Peaceful – I tend my temple – looking after my body, soul and spirit. I exercise daily, I set timers to stretch and move throughout the day, and I eat nourishing food 90% of the time.

I have a new workshop coming up called ‘How To Get Coaching Clients With Meaningful Marketing.’

It’s all about how to get clients fast and consistently using a marketing strategy that you will love.

Here are 2 dates for your diary – write these down – Tuesday 7th February and Saturday 10th February.

If you’re interested, drop the word WORKSHOP in the comments now and I’ll send you the details as soon as they’re released.

I’m cheering you on in 2023. I believe in you.

Keep showing up, keep sharing and keep shining, because the world is waiting for your words. They matter. No one can replace you. Your voice and gifts are needed.

Love Kat xo

How To Get Found Online By Aligned Clients

Want to know how to consistently get your dream clients in your coaching biz?

I understand that online marketing can sometimes feel confusing. You can’t always tell what’s going wrong, what adjustments to make, or where to apply your time and effort.

In the online marketing world, there are loads of contradictions and controversy about what to do. The end result is coaches running around in circles with too much to focus on… and too much useless information they’ve seen from a bunch of places online.

Here’s where I take a different approach. My intention is to always keep things simple and focused.

I’ve created a 5-step process to get found online by aligned clients so you can solve the biggest problems that are keeping you from attracting your ideal clients consistently.

In this video, I share…

  • How to get found online by the right-fit people
  • How to use ‘Elegant Influence’ to inspire people, and not in a salesy way
  • Characteristics of aligned clients to look out for
  • How to become the guide in your client’s ‘hero journey’
  • 5 action steps to take to get found online by your aligned clients

Here are some of the highlights of what I shared…

#1: Tidy your home – Makeover Your Facebook Personal Profile

You want your Facebook page to be inviting and clear, because you want visitors to know what your business is all about when they come to you.

So it’s important to tidy up your home online.

How do you do that?

1. Have a great cover photo

Show your credibility & personality

Ideally use a professional photo

Include and a clear, concise, compelling statement.

2. Utilise your introduction as a mini-bio

You have about 100 characters so use them wisely. Creatively include who you help and what you help them do.

Use a short link and direct them to your Facebook group or website.

3. Include your business page as your current workplace

I recommend using the words ‘Owner and Founder at [name of business page].

4. Utilise the links in the introduction

Use ’edit profile’ to create relevant links e.g. your website, Facebook group, and landing page to book a call or download your freebie.

5. Only include relevant information

Include only what your ideal client needs to know. This doesn’t include your school, hometown, college, or previous workplaces.

Facebook Business Page Tips

Include:

1. A great username

2. Have a professional cover photo

3. Put key details in the ‘About’ section – include URL

4. Choose the most effective top button – e.g. Facebook group

5. Reviews – ask your clients to add a review

2#: Create a Cool Gift

Create a cool gift that will help your ideal client solve their most pressing problem.

Post it in either your personal profile or your Facebook group. You can also post it on LinkedIn and Instagram.

I recommend the 80/20 rhythm – 80% giving, 20% asking – asking to come to an event or a strategy session, not selling your program.

#3: Visit Your Neighbours

If you don’t have a big following, visit your ‘neighbours’ online – other people’s Facebook groups.

Share valuable posts. You can do it yourself or get a VA (Virtual Assistant) to do it.

Connect with potential IFC’s (Ideal Future Clients) who engaged with your gift. Aim for around 15 mins in the morning and 15 mins before you log off at night.

Don’t slide into DM’s and try and have conversations with people you don’t know. Use Facebook’s algorithm. The more targeted friends we have, the better.

#4: Invite Them Over

Ask them if they’d like your gift (permission-based marketing), then you can share your link which is basically inviting them to your home.

Your home is your email, your chat, and your Facebook group.

People love good quality communities.

We want to give them a virtual ‘hug’ (nurture and connection) in 3 ways:

* Your group

* Your email list

* You chat with them

#5: Make Them Feel Welcome

You want them to feel at home… no matter what stage they are at or how different to you they are.

Continue to add value and give them more great content.

3 Influential Hacks To Convert Your Content Into Clients

Want to know how to create content that leads to you getting clients?

There are 3 cool hacks that are great to have up your sleeve, to help you get more engagement in your content. And most importantly, take the next step towards working with you.

These hacks are simple, and have zero sleaze factor and pure elegance.

They’re templates that are pre-written ready to put into your content to save you lots of time.

They can help you get new clients fast, even if you’re not a good writer, have a small list, and suck at tech!

You Can Use These 3 Hacks In Your…

  • Emails
  • Email nurture sequences
  • Social media posts
  • Live videos
  • DM’s
  • Articles

In this video, I share…

  • 3 Influential Content Hacks that can transform your business
  • How to ‘bust beliefs’ to help people move forward in their life
  • How to use the power of “If… then”
  • The ‘essential element’ that is needed for your ideal client

Here are some of the highlights of what I shared…

#1: Bust Their Beliefs

Think of your top 3 clients and what are they struggling with.

Here are some questions to ask…

1. Beliefs: About Themselves

What’s one false belief your ideal clients might have about themselves as to why it won’t work?

2. Beliefs About You Or Others

What’s a false belief they might have about you or others as to why it won’t work?

3. Beliefs About Your Method

What’s a false belief they have about your method – why it won’t work for them?

#2: Use The Power of ‘If…Then…’

Saying “You need to” or “You should” can sometimes bring up resistance in your audience’s mind if there’s not enough rapport yet.

Instead, you can use ‘if…then…’ statements.

Examples…

  • If you want to be (identity) then you need (your method)
  • If you want to have (result) then you need (your method)
  • If things aren’t working for you in (area of life), then it’s probably because (crucial ingredient) is missing.⠀
#3: The Essential Element

If you want to increase someone’s desire for your method, you can position it as an essential element.

This is also a great way to elegantly influence someone to see things a different way, without being salesy.

The Essential Element Template #1

“People who (have achieved result) have (actions/mindset)“
  • People who lose weight and keep it off have something specific in common. They have taken a personalised approach
  • People who are achieving incredible growth in their business have somewhere along their journey invested in a mentor
  • People who have overcome anxiety have been willing to be brave and look below the surface to the root cause

    The template…
“To (achieve result) … (your method) is essential“
  • If you want to have a profitable business, having a proven plan is essential
  • In order to have an incredible relationship, understanding each other’s love languages is essential
  • If you want to be a healthy size and feel great about yourself, understanding macronutrients is essential

P.S Whenever you’re ready… here are 3 other ways I can help you grow your business:

3. Work with me privately

The Simple Tweak That Makes Your Content More Engaging

Do you ever wonder how to make your content more engaging?⠀

Do you get discouraged when you go to a lot of effort to craft a post and it hardly gets noticed?

I’m with you. It can feel so disheartening and such a waste of time.

There are lots of reasons why your content may not be engaging people.

Sometimes it’s because it’s not relevant to them. Or we posted at a time when not many people were online.

But often it’s because there’s a major piece missing that makes a MASSIVE difference in engagement.

It’s a simple tweak you can make that breaks down resistance in people’s minds and changes the way they perceive you. It’s an easy fix, but so many people miss it.

In this video, I share…

  • The key ingredient that can INSTANTLY make your content so much more engaging
  • The consequences of not having this ingredient in your content
  • How to lower your audience’s filters, so that they can see and accept the value that you are sharing
  • Tools to transform your content from hardly being seen, to consistently attracting your ideal clients
  • How to create content that stops the scroll and makes all the effort you put into your creating your content worthwhile.

Here are some of the highlights of what I shared…

#1. Think About What Engages You

What engages you is similar to what engages your audience.

It’s the golden rule – do unto others what you’d have them do unto you.

If you don’t like seeing content that’s preachy or pushy or content that’s irrelevant and you don’t get any gold nuggets out of it…

…it’s a good clue about what your ideal client would respond to.

Something that really helps you to infuse rapport in your content is to have a clear picture in your mind of your ideal client while you’re creating it.

Imagine you’re writing it to ONE person. Just one. And imagine them receiving it. This helps it come across less like a ‘broadcast’.

The other thing that really helps is to read it out loud.

When most of us speak things out, they usually sound more conversational than when we write them. Make tweaks if it doesn’t sound natural.

#2. Wrap Empathy Around Change

Without rapport, it doesn’t matter how valuable your content is because it’s ONLY when they accept the value, that they SEE it as value.

If you miss this, your audience will close off.

The challenge is, how do we share a piece of content that inspires change, or shifts a belief, without coming across as preachy?

The key is empathy.

Show that you understand it’s not always easy to change.

Show that you relate to them as a human.

Show that you get their frustrations and you’ve walked through them and have created a path that will help them navigate them.

Thinking about how people will feel when they’re consuming your content is crucial.

#3. Be a Trusted Advisor, Not Just a Teacher

There’s a great quote from a powerful business leader, the late Mack McCormack: who said…

“All things being equal, people will do business with a friend; all things being unequal, people will still do business with a friend.”

When someone feels like a friend, we’re far more likely to engage in business with them, regardless of whether it’s even the best option.

It’s a delicate dance between professionalism AND warmth.

You want to be casual and warm enough to build rapport, but professional enough to build trust.

Want to know more about how to create truly compelling content so you can get engagement in your content online?

When you know how to create compelling content, your marketing becomes easier, faster, and more enjoyable, and you show up with more confidence.

And this is why I created a 1-day online course called ‘How To Attract Clients With Compelling Content.’⠀
⠀
This event is for Coaches and Experts who want help to capture the hearts and minds of their audience, so they can attract aligned clients consistently. It’s a free event happening on Saturday 27th November.

This is your FINAL chance for the year to join me LIVE online via Zoom!

So if you want a content strategy you can use to attract more of your ideal clients, reliably…

Remember… the world needs your words!

Hope to see you there 🙂

Are You Winging It With Your Content And What To Do Instead

Are you winging it with your content?

If you’re putting out content and you’re not getting consistent clients from it, there are probably a few things missing that I want to share with you.

Without compelling content your emails don’t get opened, your posts get lost in the newsfeed and you don’t get your unique brilliance in front of your ideal clients, which ultimately means you don’t get clients.

If you want to get clients consistently, it’s crucial that you know how to connect with your ideal clients to stop the scroll, get people to open your emails, and provide value that helps people.

Your content can so easily be flicked on past if you are not writing content that’s engaging and compelling.

Clients are everywhere. The only thing between you and them is the words you use to capture their attention.  To attract amazing clients, you need to learn the language that connects with them.

80% of what brings you success in your marketing is the words you choose in your content. to There are 3 things I recommend you need in order to attract clients through your content.

1 – Plan

The first thing you need is a content plan.

You need an overarching strategy, which you use to plan out all your content. A lot of business owners don’t have a content plan.

A content plan is a map knowing how many times you’re posting, what you’re posting (blog, email, etc), and what topics you’re posting about. These all have to clearly be aimed at your ideal clients.

There are some necessary pieces that need to go in your plan to make it work. If you don’t have these pieces in place, your content is not going to be effective.

There are 7 elements I recommend to put into your content plan:

1. Knowing your offer: What is your main paid offer that you’re creating content to lead to?

This is so important because all your content needs to lead to your signature offer. Each piece of content will have some form of action that you are asking someone to do. The action might be small or large.

The action could be to ask people to post below what your favourite tip was, or to jump into your Facebook Live, or to grab your free resource. Each piece of content has to inspire action in some way.

Inspiring action is getting people to take one step closer towards you. Not every single post is asking people to buy your product or service. But every post needs to move the buyers along in their buying journey towards you.

Inspiring action is getting people to take one step closer towards you….every post needs to move the buyers along in their buying journey towards you.

Some people won’t buy from you and that’s okay. Just keep providing value and showing up for your community. But eventually, people are going to either get on a sales page or get on a sales call, and you’re going to invite them to work with you if they’re the right fit.

And so you need to know what your main paid offer is, so you can reverse engineer your content to lead them to this. So you ask: What is the purpose of each content post? How is it leading people along the buyers’ journey?

This is critical and it’s something that a lot of business owners don’t take the time to map out. And they wonder why they’re not getting clients.

2 –  Know where you will consistently share your content

You also want to decide where you’re going to consistently post your content. You don’t need to post everywhere.

I do recommend though that you consistently post on Facebook, and then you choose one or two other platforms like LinkedIn, or Instagram depending on your niche. Utilise your posts and stories also.

3 – What topics you will share content about

Consider the topics that you’re going to share content about. You want to have one overarching topic that you share about and that should fall into a certain bucket or a category. The categories are separated into four buckets.

1 – Business – small business, corporate, wealth, finances, investing, property etc
2 – Relationships – parenting, divorce coaching, dating coaching, relationship therapy etc
3 – Health – physical training, weight loss coaching, helping people through chronic illness, mental health, emotional health etc
4 – Personal Development – a hobby, a creative project, personal skills, purpose etc

5 – The beliefs you will shift with your content

The next thing you need to think about is what beliefs are you going to shift with your content? Ask yourself, what does your potential client currently believe and what do you want them to believe after reading or watching your content?

You have to list each of these. You need to know what beliefs are not serving them and what beliefs are keeping them stuck. You need to target your content to help your potential clients to change their beliefs.

I’m running a masterclass that will cover exactly how to shift beliefs through your content in just over a week. Find out more details at the end of this blog.

6 – When you will create your content

Taking time to create your content is really important so you need to block out some time each week for when you will create your content.

I have cave days. Every Wednesday I turn off my phone and internet and I create.  You need to be diligent to block this time out and not book people in during this time.

7 – When you will deliver your content

I really resisted delivering content consistently when I first was in business. I didn’t like that feeling of commitment. I used to be hesitant to commit to showing up every single week at the same time.

I do my Facebook Lives every week at 8 pm on a Wednesday. I’ve been showing up every week for about the last two years. I’ve only had a couple of times off because of illness, but most of the time I show up, whether I feel like it or not.

There are people who know I’m sharing in this timeslot and they know I’m showing up, and I don’t want to let people down. It’s helped me so much as a content creator to organise my knowledge and to communicate my value also.

When you’ve got a container to pour your ideas into, the ideas can keep flowing more freely.

When you’ve got a container to pour your ideas into, the ideas just keep flowing.

I’m constantly investing in business courses, coaches and personal development, and learning and reading, so I’m constantly inspired to share the knowledge I’m learning.

You can always leverage your content also. No one’s going to remember something that you posted six months ago, if you just rework it and change it slightly.

If you’re concerned about repeating yourself, think about this. Do you remember what you ate for dinner five days ago? Let alone what someone posted on their social media 3 months ago, right?!

It’s the same with posting. It’s unlikely that you’re going to remember what other people post, so you can cycle your content and leverage it if you feel like you’re going to run out of ideas.

8 – How often you will share content each week

Finally, decide how often you will share your content.

Will you share your content a couple of times a week? What I’d recommend as a strategy is that you share at least three content posts a week.

Share from your personal profile in Facebook groups, because this is where Facebook shows it to the most people.

You’ll notice that you hardly get any engagement and reach in your Facebook business page. 99% of people on your Facebook page aren’t going to see your posts because Facebook knows it’s a business page.

But Facebook rewards you when you are always posting on Facebook because it keeps people on there, especially if you’re posting things that a lot of people are engaging in.

2 – Formula

The second thing you need to think about when creating content is you need a formula. A formula is a structure for your post so that you’re planting seeds in that person’s mind.

You’re opening loops and you’re doing the most important thing that is needed with content, which is inspiring action.

Crafting compelling content is a skill. Copywriting is a skill and a profession. People spend a long time studying it and reading about it. It’s not something that you’re going to be perfect at straight away. It’s something that you need to practice.

But the good news is, there’s a formula to it. There’s a formula to influencing and using ethical influence principles that inspire people to improve the quality of their lives.  Anyone can learn the formula.

If you don’t have an effective formula, your posts don’t get you new clients, which is what most people want from their content.

If you don’t have an effective formula, your posts don’t get you new clients…

I’ve got an upcoming masterclass where I share the structure, formula, and ingredients to use in your content, no matter where and how you’re showing up online. There are ingredients that you can put into your content to instantly transform your content, so you can get clients reliably and consistently.

Even if you put in one of these ingredients, you can notice a shift in your content straight away.

When you have these ingredients as opposed to just showing up and throwing up (as the saying goes in marketing), with practice you will develop the craft of it.

Every time I need clients, you can use these skills to craft your posts. It does take more thinking and some extra time, but it’s worth it. You can trust it to draw you in more clients.

3 – Consistent Action

The third thing you need is to take consistent action.

It’s one thing to have a plan and one thing to have a formula. But if you’re not taking consistent action, it’s not going to work.

You have to take consistent action and that means showing up imperfectly. When I look back on my content, there are always things I wish I did better. There’s always more planning and perfection that you can add to your content, but it’s the consistency that gets you clients consistently.

Because I have kept posting regularly posting and people get used to seeing me. They see me in my emails, on my Facebook Lives, on podcasts, on LinkedIn, on Instagram stories and other social media.

You come into people’s world in all different ways, and you’re not just doing it when you need a client and when you’re desperate, or when you have an event coming up, you’re doing content consistently, and it takes a shift in your mindset to do this.

Having an abundance mindset enables you to keep showing up for your community and your people, even if they never buy from you.

You have to say to yourself that you are doing it for your community and for your people, even if they never buy from you. You just need to keep showing up and giving value. That’s the mindset that we need to have.

People begin to trust you. When you have an abundance mentality the right people will reach out to you.

People can book into my calendar easily. I’ve got lots of links, everywhere and I’ve got lots of landing pages, free resources – my website is full of links that lead people to Click Funnels, which I use for my landing pages.

People can download cheat sheets and guides, and then they come into my email list. I nurture them and provide value. And I see a lot of people open my emails and consume the content that have never bought from me, and that’s okay.

When you’ve got an abundant mindset, the right people are going to book into your calendar for a strategy session with you. And if they’re the right fit they will work with you.

I work together with people in the following areas:

1) Creating compelling content that converts

I help you craft the right language to attract your ideal client, so the right people can immediately see what you’re all about and that your program is right for them. We also makeover your existing marketing and online presence and make sure your offer is irresistible.

2) Creating automated marketing funnels

I help you create a 24/7 marketing machine that you can rely on and also massively frees up your time. You don’t need to be a tech expert, I hold your hand and walk through it every step of the way with you.

3) Creating profitable presentations

We use my proven process to craft the right language that signs ups truly ideal, quality clients from your presentations.

In order to be the best candidate to get results, you must have experience serving clients in your area of expertise and getting results, and already have a pretty clear idea of what problem you solve and who you enjoy helping the most.

If you’re not sure if you meet this qualification, message me on Facebook or email me at info@katmillar.com and we’ll discuss it.

You need to be willing to create content consistently, either writing and/or being on video and sharing your thoughts about the topics you’re an expert in.

If you’re interested, get in touch and we will have a chat and see if you are a good fit.

I look forward to chatting with you!
