3 Ways To Instantly Get More Eyes On Your Posts

There are 3 main things that make your social media posts instantly more attention-grabbing and they’re often not what people realise.

If you’d like to create more compelling posts that really catch people’s attention and stop them from scrolling past you, then you are in the right place.

People scroll so fast on social media that you are literally one scroll away from losing someone’s attention.

So, if you want to stop people scrolling and you want someone to stop and read your posts and absorb them, I’m going to share 3 things that you can do in your posts and these have been a game-changer for me.

These are three of nine things that I share in my full content on this topic, but in this video I’m going to be sharing the top three.

These are principles that you can use for social media posts, as well as  any type of content creation, including emails, blog posts, and videos etc. If you have these 3 things in your content, you will grab people’s attention and hook them in and they will give you their time.

1 – Curiosity

Curiosity is that thing that hooks people in. It’s the thing that gets people to open your emails and to stop the scroll.

It’s the reason that the news readers always open a loop by saying something like, “After the break a woman got stabbed while she was on the roof of a car and we’ll tell you why…”

This builds curiosity and it makes you stay to learn more (if you’re that way inclined). Curiosity is the thing that makes you want to reply to something on Facebook, because a loop has been opened in your brain.

Our brain is designed to close loops. So for example, if someone starts saying something and then they get distracted, they’ve opened a loop in your brain. Your brain needs the closed loop to finish the story, and if something is unfinished, your brain often holds onto it.

There’s some really cool research that was done on waiters who were given the orders, and they discovered that they would only remember the order until the person actually paid. As soon as the person had paid, it closed the loop and they stopped remembering the order.

Their brain kept that loop open, because they needed to remember that information, until the person actually paid. Then their brain deleted that information to free up more space in their brain.

This concept of opening a loop in someone’s mind is your first line of your social media post is designed to hook someone in, like a fishing rod.

Once you’ve got them in, then you’ve got to keep them on the hook. So essentially if we fish someone in, we’ve got to hold on to them before they run away.

When you create curiosity, people can’t help but want to read more. Our brain is designed to close loops. So if we see something that opens a loop in our mind, our brain seeks to close it.

We can open a loop by asking a thought-provoking question or making a bold statement.

A bold statement makes someone say, “Hang on, what do you mean?” And they read the second line.  The second line gets then to the third line and so on.

The subject line of an email, for example, is the most important part, because you need to grab attention with curiosity so that people actually come behind the door (so to speak) and read it.

When you speak your ideal clients language, they get curious. To do this, we’ve got to be super clear on what they want.

I recommend you create a quadrant of dreams, desires, fears and frustrations and have these in front of you when you’re creating content.

When we know these four things we can feed the curiosity. People only stop scrolling if they are curious and if the content is relevant to them.

You could use a bold statement like, I dunno “The Queen just ate a spider.”

That’s a bit of a bold statement, but if it’s not relevant to the person reading it, it will not grab their attention.

If you want to get someone reading your post, you have to speak their language – with things that matter to them.

You have to tap into the dreams, desires, fears and frustrations of your target market. So you might say something like, “Do you ever feel XYZ?”

Or you could state a bold statement like, “The ONE thing that I used to XYZ.”

This builds curiosity in a person so they think “I HAVE to know!”

2 – Contrast

Using contrast is all about showing the two different worlds – between someone’s current reality and future.

So, if you think about it this way – all of us have two different worlds that exist in our lives. You have your current reality and your future reality.

You want people to show people how they can come over to their new desired world, so you’ve got to really make it clear in the contrast between the two worlds.

For example, we all have a health bridge – where we are in our health right now, and then where we want our health to be.

We all have a financial bridge. A relationships bridge. We have it in every area of our lives. Where we’re at, and where we want to be.

The contrast is the two worlds and the bridge is the piece of content that we’re creating to bridge the two worlds.

So if you are someone who helps people manage their money for example, you’ve got to talk about the current reality, and you want to use visual and emotional language that is very specific and descriptive.

You could say something like, “When you open up your banking app, does your heart sink because you’re missing a couple of zeros at the end and you really need to pay rent?”

You are talking about their existing world and you’re building that picture of the current frustration.  Then you start talking about how good it would feel to open your bank account and know that everything is sorted and you don’t have any financial burdens.

You can use kinaesthetic language that people can relate, like that feeling of relaxing, dropping their shoulders and knowing that everything’s taken care of when then open their bank account.

We’re building out some feeling and emotion, and we’re painting a visual picture between the contrast of now and the contrast of what’s possible, and we are highlighting the gap in between. We have to show people where they are and where they want to be.

And if you want to engage people and hook them in, you want to be really clear on those two worlds.

An example of highlighting the gap is this. Right now you’re learning about how to create more eyes on your post.

But you also need to know what kind of calls to action are most effective, how to create a landing page, how to set up an automated booking system to book clients in online. How do you actually convert those leads into paying clients?

So what I’m doing now is I’m highlighting the gap. I’m teaching you some cool stuff, then showing your there’s a gap of all this other information you need to learn. You’re seeing it in action.

3 – Credibility + Connection

To attract the right people, you want to use a balance of credibility and connection.

When your content has a balance between credibility and connection, people are more likely to feel drawn to you.

What I mean by credibility, is your experience, skills and knowledge. You are giving evidence that someone can trust you.

To add credibility, talk about how many years you’ve been in business, how many years you’ve been helping these types of people, or researching and studying and diving deep into this topic.

Telling how many people you’ve worked with, and giving numbers and dates are really powerful. If you read through my Instagram posts, you’ll see some examples of this my posts.

Also talk about some areas of vulnerability, show humaneness, show that you’re relatable. This brings a connection with your target market, alongside your credibility.

There has to be balance. If you just talk about how great you are, you’re going to put people off. If you’re constantly talking about how great your life is and how great you are, you don’t give people a point of connection.

Being real and showing your human side shows that you also have struggled and you know what it’s like having to struggle alone. You want to make your clients feel as though you get them.

When you’ve got that really nice balance and credibility and connection, people like you and connect with you. And they can also see you are skilled, knowledgeable have experience, but you also are not putting yourself up on a pedestal.

You want to put your program on a pedestal not yourself.  Elevate your system. Elevate the thing that you’ve created, your signature system that gets people results.

Your experiences and learnings, have been absorbed into you like a sponge. You want to squeeze it out into your signature system. This is the system that you take people through which is a process that you take people from where they are currently, to where they want to be.

There is a great book called Compelling People which talks about the concept of strength and warmth. It talks about how people who are compelling and influential have a great balance between the two.

There was a whole lot of research on thousands of compelling people. And they found that they have this beautiful balance between being strong and warm.

We need to have a balance of being warm – compassionate and kind, but not going too far with it, as then we border on being fluffy and we don’t get taken seriously.

If we go too far on the strength side, we can come across as too authoritative; too direct and blunt. And we can put people off if we’re too far on the ends of those spectrums.

Compelling people sit in the middle, in the sweet spot.

The sweet spot is when you’ve got a beautiful balance of power and vulnerability. This is similar to the sweet spot in the middle of credibility and connection.

Think about how you show your authority and your expertise, but also balance it out with vulnerability and realness.

For example, I’ve shared about how I felt like an imposter, and I felt like I was ‘pretending’ to have a business and that I felt like I should be further along in my journey by now.

When we can have this realness of what life’s really like and that we not perfect, people feel more of a connection with us. So we’ve got the credibility plus the connection.

Curiosity, contrast, and credibility + connection – these are the 3 things that if you put those in your post, you can instantly grab people’s attention and have them reading your post.

These are three of nine methods I teach to create compelling content that engages people and makes an impact.

I’ll be sharing the other 6 methods which are based on psychology principles, in my upcoming, free online masterclass called the Client Attraction Accelerator.

3 Keys To Getting People To Take The Next Step Toward Working With You

If you want to be able to turn someone from a stranger, into a follower, into a paid client and eventually into a loyal, raving fan, there are 3 specific keys that you need to follow.

Your clients will move through a specific progression from discovering you & engaging with you, through to buying from you, and it’s important that you understand how it works.

Too many people rush things.

In dating. In networking events. In pushy DM’s & PM’s. In sales conversations.

Over the years I’ve worked with all sorts of business owners, from coaches, psychologists and consultants, to childcare centre owners, gym and studio owners and thought leaders.

The people who are most successful have nailed these 3 keys that I’m sharing with you today.

The 3 keys are Know —> Like —> Trust

This is the progression your clients will take from discovering you & engaging with you, through to buying from you.

You’ve probably heard of these factors before. But do you know how to use them?

It’s important to look at your whole marketing strategy when it comes to employing the know, like and trust factor.

A lot of people say that they are posting but not getting clients. They are sending out emails, but people aren’t clicking through and taking action on the next step.

If that sounds like you, one of these 3 ingredients is probably missing.

The good news is, once you identify it and fix it, you can get your client pipeline flowing again.

When you combine these three elements, magic happens.

You start to become more of an authority and you build a tribe of fiercely loyal clients.

So here are 3 keys to take people rapidly on the journey from not knowing you, through to knowing you, liking you and trusting you enough to become your client and also become a raving fan.

1 – The Know Factor

There are three different aspects under the ‘know’  factor that we need to take into consideration.

Visibility

When it comes to people knowing you, visibility is key. People need to know that you exist, so you’ve got to be visible and visible in multiple places.

This is stage is all about building awareness that you exist. This means you need to show up in multiple places online and you need to attend events as well.

Going to events are such an easy way to build trust and connection really fast.

I know it’s been challenging this year to get out there and attend actual physical, live events, but attending seminars, conventions, conferences and networking events, is the easiest way to get known quickly. Because we’ve had social distancing and so many live events have been mostly closed down, I suggest hanging out regularly online instead, such at Facebook groups.

Pick three of your favourites groups and make sure you’re not in there with the sole purpose of getting clients.

It’s so important to give value while you are there.

You can also build connections and collaborate with Facebook group owners and ask to be a guest speaker on a podcast or in the Facebook group.

It’s called relationship marketing or conversational marketing. So you want to be out there, being visible in order to build that ‘know’ factor.

Build Curiosity

Building curiosity is so key for building people to know and like you. People get curious about what you do by regularly seeing you and by you educating people on what you do.

It’s all about volume and putting things up multiple times. You can’t put one blog up and think that it’s going to get you clients. You need to educate people about what you do. Be really clear on what you do. This is why niching is so important.

You can’t just say you are a life coach or a business coach.  You’ve got to tell people the kinds of things you do with people.

To get people to move to the like factor, they need to know you. And we want to make sure people get to know you by you being yourself.

Marketing is about attracting and repelling, so if you think about it, would you rather have a bunch of people that love you because they know you, or a few people that just don’t like you?

If you want to be successful you don’t need everyone to like you. You just want people to know clearly who you are, what you do and you want to be able to be yourself.

A lot of people struggle with getting out and being visible. But the fact is, if you’re not willing to do it, you won’t even pass that first date. There are stages that you’ve got to move people through from knowing to like into trusting, so you have to get out there and be visible.

People won’t just know you exist. You need to make yourself known to your ideal clients.

2 – The Like Factor

Giving Value

How much do you generously and genuinely give value?  Back in the old days (like years ago) you could just put up an E-book and actually charge for it. But it’s not like that now in the market.

The world is getting more and more competitive so we’ve got to make sure that our free stuff is really valuable and consistent.

Be generous and give things that people really want, not some scrappy thing that you created years ago and want to use as a lure.

You want to make your freebies something of great worth and value, and something that someone can take away and apply it straight away. This way you are giving people a mini win and a result straight away.

Relatability

We like people because we relate to them. Think about how you can connect with people and build the bridge of trust through being relatable.

Being authentic and showing your human side makes you more relatable. We relate with people who aren’t formal or fake. No one likes fake people. We’ve got to be genuine and authentic.

How much are you being yourself and how much are you putting on a mask?  When you share your struggles and how you’ve overcome them, you’re showing your vulnerability.

This opens people up to you when you share from your heart, share your struggles and what you did to overcome them.

You’ve got to be nice. I’ve found myself to be successful because I’m nice. I genuinely care about people and I’m not pushy. I give value.

If you’re trying to choose between two coaches, you’re going to go with the one that you like the most. It’s not like you’re buying a commodity, like bread or a car. You’re buying time with a person. I’d prefer to spend time with someone I love to be with and I’m sure it’s the same with you.

Being Inspirational

Being inspiring is how you will move someone to actually want to take action. So if you’re thinking about how to get people to the next step towards working with you, there are many steps towards working with you.

Most people don’t want to rush it. But how do we move someone to the next level? You’ve got to be building that skill of being able to appeal and inspire people so they want to take the next step towards you.

I love Seth Godin. He’s one of the best marketers in the world. He’s got some incredible books and I encourage you to look him up. He says he doesn’t check his analytics or go into his website to check how many people have visited, he just commits to doing great work every single day.

He’s written a blog, every single day, for years.  He just shows up every day and gives and gives. He inspires people to take the next action by giving tangible nuggets.

You can’t be sloppy. You’ve got to really craft your words so that people are inspired to move towards you.

People need to be inspired. They need to know what your point of difference is, and how you can actually help them solve a genuine problem.

Ultimately we like people who we feel good around. We like people who inspire and help us. Ultimately we are sharing value and helping people with a specific problem.

3 – The Trust Factor

Trust is the most challenging part, but your client absolutely needs to trust you. You may spend a lot of time on this step, but it’s the most important step.

When we invest our time, our energy, our money, there must be trust. Without trust, there is no exchange.

If you think of any relationship, a friendship, a romantic partner or a family relationship, these all have to have trust.

Trust takes time to build, so take the time at the beginning stage to do this and don’t rush people along until trust is established.

Consistency

The first thing to building trust is consistency. People want to be able to rely on you. They want to know you’re not here one day and then gone the next.

I look at some business pages and they’ve not posted on their socials for over a year. When you’re not consistent you can’t build trust.

You’ve got to show people you’re serious. So focus on sharing with people what you do consistently.

The quickest way to build trust is through video. So you’ve got to make sure that you’re putting video in your marketing strategy. And there’s also a right and wrong way to do a video.

There are things you can do on video that actually put people off, so you definitely want to hone your skills if you’re going to be doing video.

You also want to think about a combination of written and video content consistently.

Imagine if you decided that every single day you’re going to share with three people what you do. You just keep showing up and you post and you share content and you commit.

It’s a decision you need to make and keep.

Credibility

There are a lot of people selling dodgy things on the internet. A lot of people sell things for cheap like online courses and they don’t know what they’re doing.

If you provide a service like coaching or consulting, often people are buying something that’s  invisible. So you need to put their mind at ease by showing our credibility.

To show your credibility, don’t be afraid to share your expertise. You can do it in a humble way that’s not bragging.

You can talk about how grateful you are to have worked with certain people and how long you have worked in a particular industry.

Do it with the tonality of gratitude and show how your expertise can help people get where they want to go faster.

You can do this through social proof, like sharing testimonials from people who’ve worked with you. It could be sharing stories of how you’ve successfully helped others achieve results.

It’s being transparent and letting people know who you are and who you’re not. Let people know what you stand for and what you stand against.

You can do things like offering some kind of results guarantee. This doesn’t work for every business. But having a guarantee like a 7-day or 14-day satisfaction guarantee on your signature program makes it a no-risk, no-brainer.

If you’re a service provider like a coach, consultant, personal trainer, psychologist or someone who sells a service, people are buying something invisible – something they can’t see or touch initially. So there has to be a lot of trust there, so if you can give something that takes away the risk, you’re taking away a major objection.

Also, be accessible. Put your contact details and offer phone calls for people who don’t have all their questions answered.

It’s really important that we build those trust factors, because we know that people need trust us, in order to take that next step with us.

Clarity

The third thing we need to build trust is to be clear. This is all about your ability to communicate clearly what you do and who you help.

You need to get clear on your ideal client, their dreams, desires, fears and frustrations and be able to provide content that educates and inspires them.

You also need to be clear on your vision and mission, what you stand for and against, your business values and have a clear pathway to help people solve their problems.

When you combine the elements of know, like, and trust to your content and actions, magic happens.

You start to become more of an authority and you build a tribe of fiercely loyal clients. But results like these take time and effort. You need to put the work in, keep growing and never give up.

5 Powerful Ways To Be Engaging And Effective On Video

Would you agree that it’s pretty important in this day and age to be effective and engaging on video?

Have you noticed that there are some people who are charismatic on camera, and there are some other people who are boring, and cause you to switch off straight away?

Have you seen people who have great knowledge to share, but don’t deliver the content well?

Right now so many people are online, more than ever before in history!

So it’s even more crucial that you have the ability to be able to show up on camera confidently and be able to connect with people, fast.

Do you want to be able to show up and be able to connect with people super effectively  on video?

Would you like to create a better connection with your audience so you can build rapport with them and influence and serve them better?

In this video and article, I share with you 5 powerful ways to be engaging and effective in your videos.

1 – Speak to Your Ideal Client

It’s so important that when you’re sharing on video, that you speak to your ideal client.

The reason that so many people get nervous, is because they try and talk to everyone. They’re talking to the masses.

Right now, for example, I’m not talking to the masses, I’m talking to my community. You have chosen to read this if you’re an entrepreneur or you want to be an entrepreneur.

So that means I don’t have to get nervous and fearful because I know that I’m speaking to you, one person at a time.

I know that you want to hear what I’m talking about otherwise, you wouldn’t be reading this!

So, it’s so important when you’re sharing a piece of content that you don’t get worried about what people might think and that you’re not trying to speak to everyone.

If you try to speak to everyone you miss everyone, and no one connects with you.

It’s so crucial that you use the right language that’s going to connect with that person so that they feel like you understand them, that you understand the problems and challenges they are facing.

Many people struggle to do Facebook Lives, so if that’s you, you’re not alone – you are among the many people who struggle.

I definitely struggled when I first started. I resisted doing them for some time because of fear. Our bodies do interesting things when we are nervous and fearful, but it’s the meaning we put to it that determines our body reactions.

Being nervous is a similar physiological effect to being excited.

So instead of saying to yourself “I’m scared” or “I’m nervous”, tell yourself that you’re expanding. You’re growing, you’re stepping out of your comfort zone – and this is exciting. It’s an amazing way of developing your self-worth.

Make sure that you keep showing up and proving to your brain that you’re fine. No one died and nothing dangerous happened!

2 –  Aim to Be Professional and Personable, Not Perfect

You want to be professional. By professional I mean, be organised, structure your knowledge, make sure that you have it set out in an organised way.

Have 3, 5 or 7 points. Our brain loves odd numbers and it’s been proven by research. If in doubt go with 3 points! The brain loves that number 3 as it feels like completion.

Make sure that you show up in a way that’s beneficial to your viewers and that’s what I mean by being professional. You do not need to be super polished and perfect. In fact, the time that you do a perfect Facebook Live, it may well be a boring one!

The things that go wrong last minute, make you human and real. Make sure that you’re personable, friendly, tell stories, and be humble. Don’t try and show that you’ve got it all together. People can relate to you not being perfect.

Make sure that your content is digestible for people, so it feels easy to apply. Don’t use a lot of jargon or confusing words. People want simple, real, authentic and they want it to be personable so they can relate.

3 – Maintain a Quality Connection

There are 3 main problems that I see that people come up against when doing a live video when it comes to maintaining a quality connection with their ideal clients.

1 – I notice people don’t use a formula or structure, so people are winging it and go off on tangents, losing their connection with the viewer.

2 – People focus on themselves and not on their message. People are concerned about how they look or are coming across instead of being present. Not being present when speaking to people is a big way to lose connection.

3 – People don’t know how to effectively maintain a quality connection with people on video. To maintain a connection, be sure that your camera is set up at eye level so you are looking eye-to-eye with your viewer. Make sure you look into the lens.

Finally, don’t use notes. Trust yourself that you know your content and stick to your genius zone.

4 – Speak Within Your Genius Zone

Make sure that you are speaking about topics that you understand and that you are an expert. This will help you with not needing to use notes. Always stick within your genius zone.

Don’t be researching, an hour before you’re about to go on Facebook Live and reading everyone else’s stuff. Stick to speaking about your real-world, tangible results and talk about the things that you’re the expert at.

Don’t just state facts and information. People can get information from Google. They are showing up to listen to you on video because you have personality. You have different ways of saying things, stories you can talk about and share with people what’s in it for them.

3 really powerful words you can use that are simple little words that make a huge difference is ‘so you can’.

If you add ‘so you can’ to the end of your content and insert the benefits your clients will achieve, suddenly your content comes to life.

An example of this is saying, ‘Do you want to show up effectively on video so you can be the trusted expert in your field?’ ‘So you can’ raises your level of positioning in your client’s mind.

I’m also clear on the benefits of what I do as a business coach. I’m not afraid to talk about those benefits, because I’ve worked with hundreds of people that have had life-changing results.

You’ve got to be confident in your benefits and don’t just talk about the features of your coaching program. Talk about what’s in it for them and why they should invest this money and time into your coaching program.

Finally, have fun, smile, and enjoy it.

How do you feel when someone’s super serious and rigid, like they’re giving a university lecture?

You lose interest right away, right?

So smiling, and having fun helps build and hold a connection with people.

5 –  Follow a Formula

Following a formula allows you to build a deeper connection because you won’t be going off on tangents, trying to think about what to say.

Instead, you’ll feel organised and structured, speaking with a framework. You can be intuitive within the framework, but you don’t want to just rock up and rely on your intuition to tell you what to say without any planning or organisation.

The best speakers in the world all follow a formula. They are not just winging it. If you think of the best speeches you’ve ever watched or some of your favourite speakers, they have practiced and rehearsed it following a structured formula.

When you’ve practiced, created a great structure, you’ve got your points and you really know your topic well, you can be more intuitive and it will come across natural and will flow.

If you don’t have that structure or formula, that’s where you get nervous and can ramble.

So it can help to have the values, benefits and plan in your mind when you’re delivering a piece of content.

Would you like to learn the full presenting formula that I use and teach, so you can grow your business?

I’m running a workshop on Saturday 4th July that will show you how to use online events to profit from presenting and make a bigger difference in the world.

In this workshop, you’ll pick up the tools that you can use to run effective online workshops….

…so you can not only be successful in your presentation, but get people to show up, engage and take action.

I’ll be going through all of the strategies that I’ve used to not only present effectively, but how to use online events to attract clients and build your business.

5 Ways to Future-Proof Your Business

We’re in interesting times and things are changing day-by-day. More than ever we need to be investing in our businesses by keeping up with trends, the current technology that’s available to us as business owners, and making sure that we’re not getting left behind.

If you’ve ever had thoughts about whether you want to go into business full time, part-time or have a side hustle for yourself, then you’ve probably thought about the fact that the world is changing a lot at the moment.

You may have questioned what this means for business owners? We’ve always got to be up-skilling and keeping current, so here are 5 ways that you can make sure that you future-proof your business.

Number 1 – Be Tech Savvy

Technology is evolving at a rapid rate, and if we want to future-proof our business, we’ve got to be able to keep up with it. As a business owner, here are 3 things I recommend you’re on top of regarding technology.

1. Video

Doing videos is important, especially at the moment as we can’t run live events. It’s so important that you get your skills up to speed with video software, Facebook Lives, plus online platforms like Zoom, where you can have group chats and conversations online.

There are so many amazing functionalities with Zoom. I was crewing and assisting in a coaching certification course over the last six days, where there were about 70 participants on the Zoom call. The International Coaching Federation changed their rules during the COVID-19 season, to be able to qualify coaches online.

We are now in a world where people can coach each other in an online platform, and I was able to jump into the different breakout rooms and assist and help people by observing their 1-1 coaching. It went from 10 am to 6:30 pm for six days.

At the end, they did a poll and 79% of people said that they enjoyed doing the event online, more than they did the live event, which I found fascinating.

It’s so important that you stay up to speed with technology and you don’t have to be a total tech whiz either. There are so many programs that are really user friendly, but you’ve got to learn it.

2. A C.R.M System

I also recommend that you make sure that you have a C.R.M (a customer relationship management system). It’s so essential to being able to email your clients in a professional and effective way.

Using a platform like Mail Chimp, you can separate out your audiences, segment your email list and target different people for different needs.

You can automate your emails and link it all to your other platforms.

And you CAN have a really automated business that runs smoothly and streamlined without losing a quality client experience.

3. Funnels

You also want to make sure you have landing page software. I love using ClickFunnels, it’s by far is the one that I find most user friendly, and it has most functionality for what I want to do.

I host my webinars, online course, and landing pages for 1-1 sessions, freebies, and events on ClickFunnels and it’s all automated and synced to auto-responders.

Funnels are life-changing! They allow simple automation and save LOADS of time.

I never thought that I would be the kind of person that would sit down and learn how to create marketing funnels, but I’m so grateful that I have because now I’ll get an idea, create the landing page in the funnel and everything is all set up.

I can do it in about 45 minutes now from start to finish. From an idea that I have in my head, all the way through to having the funnel set up in less than an hour.

4. Online Calendar

Automation is key with business. You want to make sure that you’ve got an online calendar that people can easily book in with you and also change appointments. I use Calendly and really like the functionality of it.

It saves loads of time going back and forth with people, and means people are more likely to book in because they’re doing it on the spot, rather than waiting for you to get back to them. It’s a game-changer.

5. Online Payment Processing

Having an effective online payment system is something you need when looking at automation, so you can take payments from people – and not end up being a bank! You don’t want to chase people for money. You want that system to be seamless.

You want to be able to send invoices to people, and it’s all done in an automated way rather than manually, so you save loads of time.

I promise you the technology is there, you can do it, but you do need to up-skill in that area.

Automation is an important key for how we future-proof our business. There can be a lot to learn, but if we don’t we’re just going to be left behind.

Number 2 – Build Your Personal Brand

Building your personal brand is so important.

A brand isn’t a logo, it’s not your pretty colours. That’s part of your branding. The most important thing in branding is that you’re showing up that you are giving value, and that you are helping people.

You are providing value with your content, your videos and through your writing.  It takes intentionality.

You always need to be visible, out there and talking to your people. There’s a tribe of people that you are here to serve.

You need to grow and develop your community and be a community leader. Step up as a thought leader. You have skills, knowledge, experience, stories, hard work and personality that makes up who you are and your brand.

No one is like you, as no one can do it the way you do it. No one has got your unique D.N.A, your unique mission here on this planet.

People are struggling and you can help them. You help people by showing up to your Facebook group and to your communities online, jumping onto video so that people can connect with you, giving value to your community – it’s all part of building your personal brand.

Number 3 – Extend Your Network

At the moment, we’re not going to in-person business breakfasts, seminars, workshops or conferences, but we’ve got an incredible opportunity to network in the online space.

What I recommend that you do in order to position yourself as someone who is a thought leader, has influence and adds value, is to start running your own online events.

There are a whole lot of things you can do – like a webinar, summit, Facebook challenge or one-day online workshops.

This helps you raise your positioning which can open up opportunities for you to be a guest speaker in other people’s spaces.

I’ve done about seven of these during this pandemic season. People have asked me to come on their podcasts, and I’ve done a range of summits and talks.

Put yourself out there by showing up online with value, so that you’re more likely get invited to be a guest speaker about your expertise.

It really gives you exposure and expands your reach. It puts you in touch with other audiences and networks. If you don’t have a big email database, then you want to tap into other people’s communities.

The reason I get invited is that people have gotten to know me, because I’ve built a Facebook group and a YouTube channel and I’ve consistently put out content. That’s when you start to really extend your networks and people start inviting you to speak and introducing you to their networks.

Number 4 –  Develop Your Key Skills

There are five main skills that I recommend that you develop if you want to future-proof your business.

1. Marketing Skills

Marketing skills are so important and investing in these skills will only help your business.

Be honest and rate yourself on a scale of 1-10 regarding how good you are at marketing, how good you are at attracting clients and running Facebook adverts. If your skills are on the lower end of the scale, then invest in some marketing training.

2. Sales Skills

How good are you at having sales conversations and being able to connect, engage and influence people? How good are you at getting money into your bank account by these conversations? If this is an area you are lacking in, then up-skill in sales.

3. Copywriting Skills

Having the ability to write in a way that draws people in is a key skill. How good are you at writing landing pages, sales letters, emails, captioning your social media posts? Rate yourself on a scale of 1-10. If you are on the lower end, then up-skill in copywriting.

4. Your Ability to Present

Your ability to speak on camera is key. Being engaging, building rapport and connection is important for future-proofing your business.

Being able to stand up in front of a group and present is a skill that if you can do it, you will easily be able to get clients  and you will also position yourself as an expert authority.

5. Technology Skills

Developing your tech skills is so important. Learning how to create funnels, put together landing pages, set up Zoom, synch your emails and calendars are important tech skills that are needed in business at this time.

I recommend that if things aren’t working for you, if you know that you’re not making as much money as you want to and don’t have as many client’s as you want, then commit to up-skilling to future-proof your business.

5 –  Build a Growth Mindset

A growth mindset embraces challenges. It loves a good challenge! That’s the entrepreneurial mindset. When problems come along, you don’t get dramatic, you don’t get emotional, you don’t get stuck in the problem, you don’t blame others and you don’t make excuses.

You are on! You’re switched and when the challenge comes, you know you’ve got this! This is a growth mindset. There are a lot of people that start in business and don’t make it, because they’ve got a nine-to-five mentality. They’ve got a fixed mindset.

It’s so important that we keep up-skilling and investing in our businesses, because businesses are an asset.

If we continue to invest time, energy and money, we will continue to future-proof our business.Want to know how to apply these strategies to your own business, so you can attract new paying clients?

5 Of The Best Ways To Market Your Services At The Moment

I think you would agree that the way we do business has changed dramatically for many of us recently!

Things are shifting and changing in the online world and the way we do our marketing.

When it comes to business, we need to be able to roll with change, be flexible and be adaptable in order to keep growing and succeeding in our goals.

It’s important to make sure that we keep up-to-date with what’s happening in business and in own individual industries so we don’t get left behind.

Here are 5 of the best ways to market your services online during these changing times:

Number 1 – Consistent Content

The first way that I recommend that you market your services at the moment is by doing consistent content. There are three main things that you’ve got to make sure with your content.

The first one, you’ve got to make sure that it’s original. So you don’t want to just be reposting other people’s posts you don’t want to just be putting up quotes.

You need to be making unique content that is in your unique voice, using your tonality  and stories of your experiences.

That’s why people will follow you as opposed to just downloading information from the internet, they want to get to know you, they want to know your skills, your experience, your knowledge, your unique combination of personality and style.

Make sure that your content is original, relevant and targeted to your ideal client and niche.

This is always one of the first steps that I take with all of my clients, to help them to make sure that they have nailed their niche – that their niche is really tight, because if you don’t have a tight niche, you’ll be competing with everyone.

If you’re a coach for example and you just call yourself a life coach, it is way too broad in general and it will be very hard for you to be a master, being an expert in one thing.

You also want to make sure that your content is consistent, regular and targeted to your ideal client.

If you stick to your ideal client, to your brilliance and genius zone, you’ll be able to post so much content because you know it and don’t have to research it.

Ideally you need to be getting on a camera. I know it can be scary but it’s a must in your business, especially in the age that we’re in, we cannot afford to hide anymore.

If you want your business to grow, if you want to get more pay clients, you need to be able to present yourself on video.

Number 2 – Client Attraction Funnels

A funnel is a process that leads someone from not knowing you at all, to nurturing them and them getting to know, like, and trust you, and for some people, eventually becoming a paid client.

If you want to automate your marketing and have a consistent stream of leads coming in, you need to make sure you’ve got a funnel that leads them through the process and we can do this in an automated way, while also providing an exceptional client experience.

Even though a lot of the steps are automated, you’ve got to make sure your client has an excellent experience.

I teach how to automate all of these steps in my accelerator program, so that you can start to remove yourself a bit from all the manual tasks and have more freedom.

Initially, it takes work to set up funnels where for example, you might set up a landing page and you offer people a great downloadable free guide, cheatsheet or checklist.

It’s something of value that takes your client from A to B. Your paid program is taking them from A to Z, but your free offer that goes into your funnel might take them from A to B.

Your ideal client opts in, they put their name and email in, and then you continue to nurture them and provide value.

This nurture process builds trust and establishes connection with your ideal client and as they move through the funnel, they become a paid client.

You give value to them through the process, through your emails, Facebook lives and other educational content that you create.

Social media activity has increased by 70%, according to one statistic that I read. There are SO many eyeballs that have migrated online.

And if you don’t have a funnel to capture people, you’re getting left behind. You’re literally leaving money on the table, and people that you can help have been left behind as well.

So that’s the client attraction funnel.

Number 3 – Crafted Webinars

With crafted webinars, there’s a whole specific way of doing it to get paid clients.

You need to create really valuable content and present it for free, but also it’s important that that you’re not over-teaching.  You show people a section of what you can help them with, but that’s just one piece of the puzzle.

In the webinars you show people how to get from A – B,  but you lead people from your webinar into making them an offer of your signature system or program which takes them from A – Z.

Make  sure that you’re really clear that if they want the support and accountability and if they want the online community,  it’s your signature program that they will get that in.

Webinars are so popular at the moment, and the people doing them are absolutely smashing it.

I did my first webinar in 2016 and it was one of the most scary things I’ve ever done. I actually found it harder than running live events because of my fear of technology.

But I pushed through and now I’ve done hundreds of them. I really love them and they are super effective.

If you’re willing to step up and learn you will be ahead of your competitors, because it requires you to face rejection, fear and self-doubt.

It’s not an easy path, but most of your competitors are taking the easy path, because it’s the path of least resistance..

Doing crafted webinars well can separate you from your competition and is a fast way to attract new clients.

Number 4 –  Create Community Online

If you’re a leader or a business owner don’t just hang around in other people’s Facebook groups. Have your own Facebook or LinkedIn group and build your own community.

Having your own group means you are building your authority and expertise. You’re positioning yourself as a thought leader and as a subject matter expert. And it’s also a way for you to find out what people are struggling with, what problems people have and what common goals and visions  people have.

These communities  become a really supportive, beautiful space. It’s not the easy road and you have to be consistent with your content and that means you have to show up, whether you feel like it or not.

It’s about making a commitment. When you do that, everything changes in your business. That’s when things started to change for me, when I got committed to showing up consistently.

Most of my clients now didn’t sign up straight away. (I’ve got 29 clients at the moment). Most of those clients consumed my content they watched me over time.

Only 3% of people are active buyers at any one time. 7% are interested and know that they need to solve a problem.

Which means that around 90% of people that see your online posts are not ready to buy. So having an online community allows you to provide value, nurture people and build trust and rapport over time for when people are ready to buy.

Number 5 – Create Facebook Ads

The price of Facebook ads is declining. According to the new New York Times,  Facebook ad prices have declined by about 50%.

According to some other studies I’ve read recently, Facebook ads are the cheapest they’ve been in six years.

Predominately because so many industries have removed themselves from Facebook advertising, like travel, entertainment, hospitality etc.

I also heard recently of a guy who used to invest $1,000 and would get about 40,000 views on a video.

Now he’ll invest half of that, about $500 in Facebook ads and get about 80,000 video views.

So that’s about four times bigger.

You have a unique opportunity right now to maximise this at the moment.

You can build your email list, capture a whole lot of leads for a lot cheaper.

But soon the restrictions are going to be lifted and things are going to change, so there is quite a unique small window that we have right now, before prices start going back up.

The important thing is to make sure that you get your message clear, influential and that it lands to the right people.

So if you want to get more clients, I highly recommend that you pick at least one of these strategies and get going on it straight away.

Do you want to learn the best way to apply these strategies and attract new paying clients?

I’m running a FREE ½ day online workshop on Saturday 23rd May, ‘Attract New Clients With Ease’.
