How To Get Found Online By Aligned Clients

Want to know how to consistently get your dream clients in your coaching biz?

I understand that online marketing can sometimes feel confusing. You can’t always tell what’s going wrong, what adjustments to make, or where to apply your time and effort.

In the online marketing world, there are loads of contradictions and controversy about what to do. The end result is coaches running around in circles with too much to focus on… and too much useless information they’ve seen from a bunch of places online.

Here’s where I take a different approach. My intention is to always keep things simple and focused.

I’ve created a 5-step process to get found online by aligned clients so you can solve the biggest problems that are keeping you from attracting your ideal clients consistently.

In this video, I share…

  • How to get found online by the right-fit people
  • How to use ‘Elegant Influence’ to inspire people, and not in a salesy way
  • Characteristics of aligned clients to look out for
  • How to become the guide in your client’s ‘hero journey’
  • 5 action steps to take to get found online by your aligned clients

Here are some of the highlights of what I shared…

#1: Tidy your home – Makeover Your Facebook Personal Profile

You want your Facebook page to be inviting and clear, because you want visitors to know what your business is all about when they come to you.

So it’s important to tidy up your home online.

How do you do that?

1. Have a great cover photo

Show your credibility & personality

Ideally use a professional photo

Include and a clear, concise, compelling statement.

2. Utilise your introduction as a mini-bio

You have about 100 characters so use them wisely. Creatively include who you help and what you help them do.

Use a short link and direct them to your Facebook group or website.

3. Include your business page as your current workplace

I recommend using the words ‘Owner and Founder at [name of business page].

4. Utilise the links in the introduction

Use ’edit profile’ to create relevant links e.g. your website, Facebook group, and landing page to book a call or download your freebie.

5. Only include relevant information

Include only what your ideal client needs to know. This doesn’t include your school, hometown, college, or previous workplaces.

Facebook Business Page Tips

Include:

1. A great username

2. Have a professional cover photo

3. Put key details in the ‘About’ section – include URL

4. Choose the most effective top button – e.g. Facebook group

5. Reviews – ask your clients to add a review

2#: Create a Cool Gift

Create a cool gift that will help your ideal client solve their most pressing problem.

Post it in either your personal profile or your Facebook group. You can also post it on LinkedIn and Instagram.

I recommend the 80/20 rhythm – 80% giving, 20% asking – asking to come to an event or a strategy session, not selling your program.

#3: Visit Your Neighbours

If you don’t have a big following, visit your ‘neighbours’ online – other people’s Facebook groups.

Share valuable posts. You can do it yourself or get a VA (Virtual Assistant) to do it.

Connect with potential IFC’s (Ideal Future Clients) who engaged with your gift. Aim for around 15 mins in the morning and 15 mins before you log off at night.

Don’t slide into DM’s and try and have conversations with people you don’t know. Use Facebook’s algorithm. The more targeted friends we have, the better.

#4: Invite Them Over

Ask them if they’d like your gift (permission-based marketing), then you can share your link which is basically inviting them to your home.

Your home is your email, your chat, and your Facebook group.

People love good quality communities.

We want to give them a virtual ‘hug’ (nurture and connection) in 3 ways:

* Your group

* Your email list

* You chat with them

#5: Make Them Feel Welcome

You want them to feel at home… no matter what stage they are at or how different to you they are.

Continue to add value and give them more great content.

3 Influential Hacks To Convert Your Content Into Clients

Want to know how to create content that leads to you getting clients?

There are 3 cool hacks that are great to have up your sleeve, to help you get more engagement in your content. And most importantly, take the next step towards working with you.

These hacks are simple, and have zero sleaze factor and pure elegance.

They’re templates that are pre-written ready to put into your content to save you lots of time.

They can help you get new clients fast, even if you’re not a good writer, have a small list, and suck at tech!

You Can Use These 3 Hacks In Your…

  • Emails
  • Email nurture sequences
  • Social media posts
  • Live videos
  • DM’s
  • Articles

In this video, I share…

  • 3 Influential Content Hacks that can transform your business
  • How to ‘bust beliefs’ to help people move forward in their life
  • How to use the power of “If… then”
  • The ‘essential element’ that is needed for your ideal client

Here are some of the highlights of what I shared…

#1: Bust Their Beliefs

Think of your top 3 clients and what are they struggling with.

Here are some questions to ask…

1. Beliefs: About Themselves

What’s one false belief your ideal clients might have about themselves as to why it won’t work?

2. Beliefs About You Or Others

What’s a false belief they might have about you or others as to why it won’t work?

3. Beliefs About Your Method

What’s a false belief they have about your method – why it won’t work for them?

#2: Use The Power of ‘If…Then…’

Saying “You need to” or “You should” can sometimes bring up resistance in your audience’s mind if there’s not enough rapport yet.

Instead, you can use ‘if…then…’ statements.

Examples…

  • If you want to be (identity) then you need (your method)
  • If you want to have (result) then you need (your method)
  • If things aren’t working for you in (area of life), then it’s probably because (crucial ingredient) is missing.⠀
#3: The Essential Element

If you want to increase someone’s desire for your method, you can position it as an essential element.

This is also a great way to elegantly influence someone to see things a different way, without being salesy.

The Essential Element Template #1

“People who (have achieved result) have (actions/mindset)“
  • People who lose weight and keep it off have something specific in common. They have taken a personalised approach
  • People who are achieving incredible growth in their business have somewhere along their journey invested in a mentor
  • People who have overcome anxiety have been willing to be brave and look below the surface to the root cause

    The template…
“To (achieve result) … (your method) is essential“
  • If you want to have a profitable business, having a proven plan is essential
  • In order to have an incredible relationship, understanding each other’s love languages is essential
  • If you want to be a healthy size and feel great about yourself, understanding macronutrients is essential

P.S Whenever you’re ready… here are 3 other ways I can help you grow your business:

3. Work with me privately

The Simple Tweak That Makes Your Content More Engaging

Do you ever wonder how to make your content more engaging?⠀

Do you get discouraged when you go to a lot of effort to craft a post and it hardly gets noticed?

I’m with you. It can feel so disheartening and such a waste of time.

There are lots of reasons why your content may not be engaging people.

Sometimes it’s because it’s not relevant to them. Or we posted at a time when not many people were online.

But often it’s because there’s a major piece missing that makes a MASSIVE difference in engagement.

It’s a simple tweak you can make that breaks down resistance in people’s minds and changes the way they perceive you. It’s an easy fix, but so many people miss it.

In this video, I share…

  • The key ingredient that can INSTANTLY make your content so much more engaging
  • The consequences of not having this ingredient in your content
  • How to lower your audience’s filters, so that they can see and accept the value that you are sharing
  • Tools to transform your content from hardly being seen, to consistently attracting your ideal clients
  • How to create content that stops the scroll and makes all the effort you put into your creating your content worthwhile.

Here are some of the highlights of what I shared…

#1. Think About What Engages You

What engages you is similar to what engages your audience.

It’s the golden rule – do unto others what you’d have them do unto you.

If you don’t like seeing content that’s preachy or pushy or content that’s irrelevant and you don’t get any gold nuggets out of it…

…it’s a good clue about what your ideal client would respond to.

Something that really helps you to infuse rapport in your content is to have a clear picture in your mind of your ideal client while you’re creating it.

Imagine you’re writing it to ONE person. Just one. And imagine them receiving it. This helps it come across less like a ‘broadcast’.

The other thing that really helps is to read it out loud.

When most of us speak things out, they usually sound more conversational than when we write them. Make tweaks if it doesn’t sound natural.

#2. Wrap Empathy Around Change

Without rapport, it doesn’t matter how valuable your content is because it’s ONLY when they accept the value, that they SEE it as value.

If you miss this, your audience will close off.

The challenge is, how do we share a piece of content that inspires change, or shifts a belief, without coming across as preachy?

The key is empathy.

Show that you understand it’s not always easy to change.

Show that you relate to them as a human.

Show that you get their frustrations and you’ve walked through them and have created a path that will help them navigate them.

Thinking about how people will feel when they’re consuming your content is crucial.

#3. Be a Trusted Advisor, Not Just a Teacher

There’s a great quote from a powerful business leader, the late Mack McCormack: who said…

“All things being equal, people will do business with a friend; all things being unequal, people will still do business with a friend.”

When someone feels like a friend, we’re far more likely to engage in business with them, regardless of whether it’s even the best option.

It’s a delicate dance between professionalism AND warmth.

You want to be casual and warm enough to build rapport, but professional enough to build trust.

Want to know more about how to create truly compelling content so you can get engagement in your content online?

When you know how to create compelling content, your marketing becomes easier, faster, and more enjoyable, and you show up with more confidence.

And this is why I created a 1-day online course called ‘How To Attract Clients With Compelling Content.’⠀

3 Sneaky Content Mistakes That Could Be Tripping You Up

Ever feel like you hit the content jackpot with a killer post so you share it, and it only get a few likes from your old faithfuls (aka, your best friends)?

Yeah, that sux.

Content is a powerful tool that can spark emotion. It can build connection. It can inspire new ways of thinking and invite action. Content creation is an important part of a trust-building marketing strategy.

So why is it so hard to get your content to consistently engage people?

It usually comes down to some sneaky content mistakes that a lot of people don’t realise they’re making. ⠀

And it’s really hurting their brand. In a lot of ways, it’s having the opposite effect they want and actually putting people off.

If you don’t have an effective content strategy and you’re posting randomly, it can actually add to people’s overwhelm and confusion.

We want to speak directly to our dream, soul-connected clients and elegantly communicate our value to them.

There are people out there haaaaanging for the help you provide, but without a great content strategy, most of them currently can’t find you.

People, with problems you can solve, are wading through Facebook right now… and if you’re not jumping out to them with your content, it’s probably because your words aren’t crafted to be as compelling as they could be.

It’s not because you’re not awesome, it’s because your content isn’t grabbing and keeping their attention.

Your word choice has the ability to produce a flick of the finger or a pause and consume.

Tiny tweaks make big leaps.

If you want to attract new clients fast, learning how to create compelling content is a priority. If you’re using online events as a lead generation strategy, which is what I recommend for most coaches and experts, it’s really hard to get people to those events without compelling content that invites them to it.

Compelling content strategically grows your audience, it attracts your ideal clients and inspires the right people to buy from you and you can do it in a way that FEELS good to you.

So here are the 3 biggest mistakes that could be tripping you up.

1. You don’t have a well-thought-out content strategy

A lot of people are fumbling around in the dark, posting all sorts of things on social media without a content strategy. And it’s really hurting their brand and in a lot of ways, putting people off.

If you don’t have a strategy, it can actually add to people’s overwhelm and confusion. It can be a disservice to your followers. When you have a strategy, it’s like having a map that shows you the journey that people go on.

Here is an example.

Carl likes to go for a walk around his block every day. He does the exact same journey – turns left out of his block, then right until the next street, then left, etc. He remains safe and within close distance to his home.

Sally, on the other hand, is spontaneous. Sally loves stepping out of her house with no plan, no direction, and just follows her nose. She loves finding new places and often gets lost but, she loves the thrill of it.

Neither of these are right or wrong.

So, are you more of a Cautious Carl or Spontaneous Sally?

If you’re like Cautious Carl in your content, you’re probably staying safe and predictable. You probably aren’t ever rocking the boat. You’re probably not trying new things and are sticking to just one type of content… it could be becoming a bit boring and you’re probably blending in.

If you are a Carl type, the more you continuously walk around the block, the more you can become blind to the things around you. The walk can become monotonous and you’re no longer as bright-eyed and alert. Instead, it can become boring and repetitive.

If you’re a Sally type you may lack some structure. You want to discover new places but without any sense of direction, you might not reach your desired destination.

If you’re like Spontaneous Sally in your content, you’re probably trying different types of content and sharing lots of different topics. You might be using the latest trends eg. TikTok, reels, Clubhouse, or Instagram Stories.

You probably post when you’re inspired but have gaps in content consistency. You might be fun to watch but your audience can’t fully rely on you to deliver consistent and reliable value.

You don’t want your content marketing strategy to become monotonous (like Carl) and, if you have no strategy in place like Sally, you’ll probably be overwhelmed and frustrated without direction.

But what if Carl and Sally each used a map? A map allows you to see where you are, where you want to go, and the best way to get there.

A map allows you to see where you are, where you want to go, and the best way to get there.

And, that’s why you need a solid content strategy.

2. You’re Not Creating Enough Curiosity

I say this all the time because a lot of people miss it, and it will never stop being true…

The main job of your marketing content is to create curiosity. If you’re not creating a feeling of curiosity for your reader or viewer, they will scroll away.

Giving away valuable content for free is the name of the game, but you can’t “give away the farm” and leave nothing to be desired.

So what do we do instead? We need to give value, AND open a void – a door that shows them what else they need to know.

I call it the ‘Void-Value Dance’.

This is where you highlight a void – you tell them all about a problem they have, showing them that you understand that problem completely and intimately – because you used to have the same problem. Then you give them value to solve it.

But there’s a second important step. You then open up a NEW void.

Give value, open a void –-> Give value, open a void –-> Give value, open a void

It’s like opening a new door to a new problem. It’s also known as ‘tension-relief’.

Most people don’t know how to give value, but not give away too much. If you give people a false sense of their problem being solved, you’re actually doing them a disservice.

I give a lot of value away for free but there’s so much I DON’T share for free. There’s a whole roadmap people get when we work together.

People pay for a path.

People need to work closely with you in order to have a transformation. We very rarely transform just from information.

3. You’re Not Inspiring Action

A lot of people struggle to inspire their followers to take action.

I used to find this really hard too. I loved sharing helpful advice, but I rarely asked people to take the next step.

When I realised this was hurting my business, I got more strategic.

It’s not about selling, it’s about inviting people to take the next best action towards you. That’s how you can best help them solve their problem!

Maybe it’s sharing about a free resource or event, or inviting them to have a strategy session with you. Make sure you add the benefits of taking the action.

I call this being ‘elegantly influential’.

A lot of people don’t add the right kind of CTA – ‘Call To Action’.

The CTA is where the magic happens. However, your CTA’s won’t work if you don’t understand the right type and placement that’s needed, according to your client journey.

You need the right kind of CTA –
‘Call To Action’.

An effective CTA provides your reader or viewer with the next best logical step.

A lot of people try to rush the process from cold to hot (getting someone from a Facebook ad into a call with them) and they don’t think about where someone is in their client journey. They make a high-commitment ask and they haven’t developed enough trust yet.

You also want to avoid using the passive voice (e.g. “Let us know”, “If you want”) in your CTAs. Use verbs that compel people to take action — “Click here”, “Read now”, etc.

So let’s do a review.

If we did an audit on your business…

1. Do you have a well-thought-out content strategy that’s predictable and profitable?

2. Is your content creating enough curiosity?

3. Are you inspiring people to take action?

Without your content leading to action that involves taking the next step towards you, it’s very hard to build a profitable business that helps people.

How To Get More Clients Using The Art Of Elegant Influence

In a world where trust is harder to find, and our ability to tune out messages is greater than ever…

…it’s important we have a more effective way to stand out, cut through the noise, and be noticed, for the right reasons.

There’s a lot of distrust online with fake news, pushiness, saturation, and interruptions. The amount of information that is being thrown at you is huge and this can sometimes become overwhelming.

It’s also really hard to know what is true and what isn’t – the genuine from the fake.

As a child, I used to play the game “Masterpiece” with my family. It’s a game about art and you take a card, which is a painting, and you match it together with a price.

What you see is an elegant front, but it’s really about what’s underneath.

The cards are then shuffled, a player takes a card and then tries to sell it by persuading the others that it is worth a great deal of money. It could be worth millions or not much at all, depending on if it is genuine or a fake.

What I learned from this game is what we see is an elegant front, but it’s really about what’s underneath. The cards are revealed and what’s fake and what’s genuine becomes known.

A forgery looks beautiful but ultimately, it didn’t come from the original painter.

It’s the same with content. Anyone can paint a pretty picture. Anyone can put out a blog post with other people’s intellectual property and claim it as their own.

It can look and sound really beautiful but is there a solid foundation underneath? You can come across really elegant … but is it just style are you sharing solid substance too?

The strength of true value needs to be underneath all that you do. You’re not copying what other people do but are presenting your original content, your genuine, authentic self.

You can have conviction and be confident in what you are sharing when it is your own brilliance. Drawing people to your foundation of authenticity makes the biggest difference when it comes to influence.

So let’s look at what elegant influence is NOT.

  • It’s NOT trying to use persuasion tactics
  • It’s NOT the words that you say

It’s NOT just about learning business skills

Now let’s look at what elegant influence IS.

  • It IS how people feel when they are listening to you, watching your videos.
  • It IS about personal character.
  • It IS about who you’re being, who you are.
  • It IS about working on yourself and not just about working on acquiring outward skills.

Have you ever met someone who has amazing business skills but not great people skills? They can be really smart and have a profitable business but you don’t sense any warmth from them at all.

Working on yourself and your own mindset is incredibly important to step into elegant influence.

Jim Rohn talks about having an “until mindset”. You keep going UNTIL it works.

When you make the decision to never give up on your dream, you are able to push through the disappointments and hardships and keep going.

You are able to see the money that you are spending on your own education as an investment in yourself, even before you see any of the money coming back.

I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t have regular coaching. My coaches call me higher and push me further with direction and clarity.

They help me work on my mindset so that I can be more of my authentic self and show up with elegant influence for you.

So how exactly do we use influence elegantly to attract clients and accelerate our business growth?

Here are 5 of the most powerful ways:

1. Be original

Others will know that you are not being original and not working in elegant influence.

So many people are copying other people.

They will know it’s not genuine because you may not be able to talk about it in a confident, certain, convicted way like you would if you came up with it yourself.

I’m not referring to ‘modeling’ – which is one of the fastest ways to grow your business.

Modeling is watching other businesses that are similar to yours and taking ideas, not content, and implementing them with your own voice.

Use your own voice by coming up with your own way of saying things.

Begin developing a method that is really unique to you. This is so incredibly powerful.

It does take a lot more work and it can be hard, but stepping out and doing the ‘hard things’ is an opportunity for big growth and productivity in your business.

When it comes to being original, I recommend having a “Cave Day” or a “Cave Hour”. What this looks like for me is walking in nature listening to audiobooks. As I get ideas, I write them down in my phone.

Being original means that you can use other people to inspire you and then come up with your own ways of expressing these ideas.

Some ideas for “Cave Time” are:

  • Putting ear phones in for 30 mins a day
  • Going to local cafe by yourself
  • Reading a book for 30 mins a day
  • Sitting in a quiet place for 30 mins a day and just allowing your mind to think and come up with creative ideas

The idea is to have a ‘blank piece of paper moment’ where you are pouring out all of your ideas onto the piece of paper, like a brainstorming session.

A great idea is to do this away from your laptop so you are not easily distracted. Ideally, be in a quiet place, without distractions, allows your mind to get creative and invites ideas to flow freely to you.

Often when something is hard, your competitors aren’t doing it.

2. Be Professional

Many people don’t set themselves up to win by not looking professional or speaking professionally.

It’s not about perfectionism – it’s about professionalism.

I don’t strive for perfectionism, I strive for excellence. I strive to be outstanding. I strive to be polished and do the best job I can at communicating my value.

This doesn’t mean that I haven’t made massive mistakes. If I wasn’t willing to fail, to show up and do things badly, and launch so many products and services, I wouldn’t keep showing up consistently now.

Showing up, no matter what is having an entrepreneurial mindset.

It’s so important to get out there BEFORE you feel ready. You can make the commitment to do the best that you possibly can

Some ways to do this are:

  • By having a great Zoom background
  • Always looking your best
  • Taking the time to craft a great post instead of rushing to get ‘something’ out there – quality is so important

This is a gift to your community when you’re engaging with them and you’re not distracted by your surroundings or what you look like when you’re presenting.

3. Be Soulful

Being soulful is about connecting to things that are outside of status, power, and money. This means tapping into something that is bigger than yourself.

Think about why it is so important to you to get that message out to your community, beyond making money.

Create content from a place of wanting to serve, being influential, being a thought leader… to challenge the status quo and not just talk from a practical level.

When you can show up and speak from your heart, and not be self-conscious but share your soulful message, people will pick up on that and it’s very attractive.

It’s like the Masterpiece game – it’s not just a beautiful painting, it’s not style without substance … it’s soulful.

It’s being professional and being elegant, but it’s also about having that deeper mission, that deeper ‘why’.

4. Be Specific

I look at some content and at times it can be quite vague. Clarity is very important.

Clarity very rarely comes upfront. Clarity comes along the journey.

Great impact isn’t made when you’re not being really specific. There is such a saturation online now so if you want to gain and hold people’s attention, you have to be specific.

Think about your website, your social media profiles, your comments that you’re putting online.

Are you speaking very specifically and directly to your dream client? Or are you trying to be everything to everyone?

When your dream client comes to you, it’s so important that they know exactly what you do and know why you’re unique.

They want you to know that you ‘get them’ and you do this by speaking to them very specifically. This is how you gain connection and influence.

We’re all hungry for people who speak our language. To be an effective influencer, you want to be an interpreter of your dream client’s journey.

You have already been through the journey with its road bumps and obstacles, and you successfully navigated that terrain so now you’re their guide.

You’re there to interpret a very specific journey for other people.

5. Be Brave

It’s important to stand FOR something and stand AGAINST something if you want to be influential.

Influence is motivating and inspiring someone to take a new action to improve their life.

In order for them to move on that new action, they need to change their thinking, their perspective on their situation, and about themselves.

To help them create a new perspective, a new belief, you can inspire them and not be wishy-washy.

Your message needs to be bold and brave … and not everyone is going to like it. And that’s totally OK.

Marketing is about attracting some people and repelling others.

You are to be really firm in who you are, in what you believe and what you don’t believe, and then you get your dream people into your community … and life is super exciting.

These are the 5 things I recommend you focus on to get more clients using the art of elegant influence

They will help you to connect better with your ideal clients and you’ll be able to attract more of the right people into your business.

What this ultimately means for you is that you can help more people, make a bigger difference in the world, create the impact that you’re here to make, have a profitable business doing what you love …

… and have greater fulfillment in your life.
