The Real Reason Why Content Creation Takes You So Long

Are you tired of spending hours and hour creating content?

Do you find yourself caught in an editing loop, overthinking and rewriting every second word?

You second-guess if it’s good enough to share, but you’ve spent so long on it, and you don’t want that effort to go to waste.

Do you want to speed up your content creation process, without compromising on quality?

In my latest content I identified some real and raw reasons why creating content often takes so long, and how to fix it!

Watch the video here…

The Real Reason Why Content Creation Takes You So Long

I firstly want to explain 4 key concepts when it comes to creating effective content that doesn’t take forever.

I created a Quadrant to explain this, called the The Content Efficiency Matrix.

Efficiency is the ability to produce something with the least amount of wasted resources, such as time. It’s maximising output while minimising input.

Effectiveness, when it comes to content, is response, i.e., engagement: people reaching out to you on social media, replying to your emails, booking in to your calendar for strategy sessions, buying your coaching or program.

So, using efficiency on one axis and effectiveness on the other we get a quadrant with the following elements:

Ineffective and slow – Takes ages, and doesn’t work. Poor response. We want to eliminate this.

Ineffective but fast – Doesn’t work, but is fast. We want to eliminate this also. If you’re just pumping out any random content, it doesn’t matter whether you do it fast if it doesn’t work.

Effective but slow – Takes ages, but works. People respond. But you can’t produce much content because it takes so long that you put out a very low volume, meaning your results are very slow also. We want to reduce this.

Effective and fast – This is the goal. To get quicker at creating content WHILE not compromising on the quality of your work that leads to results – i.e., people moving along your client journey towards working with you.

To get faster at creating content and have time to create more content, it helps to understand why it’s taking so long in the first place.

If you keep repeating the same behaviour of overthinking and second-guessing, there could be something deeper happening.

Which means that no matter how much you try it probably won’t get better.

But when you know the reason, you can decide what to do about it.

The reason you don’t do it often goes deeper than most people realise.

Here are the top 5 things I see that lead to coaches spending too long on their content creation.

1. Not being clear on your message

Creating content for too many people who are not your ideal client. Messaging is a big issue for a lot of coaches. When you’re not clear on your message, you try to please everyone and you stand out to no one.

2. Avoiding other tasks

Content can be our comfort zone. And in my experience, in 95% or more of cases, the reason that we’re avoiding other tasks is because we’re not good at them. It’s a skill issue.

We spend a lot of time creating content because it’s more fun than facing other things in our business, like learning tech, setting up a marketing funnel, or booking people into sales calls.

It’s similar to its equally costly twin, procrasti-learning.

This is where we learn, learn, learn instead of do, do, do because it’s easier and more fun to consume than to create.

The challenge is to realise that we mistake consumption for transformation.

3. Fear of judgement

This is about not feeling good enough, caring too much what people think, imposter syndrome, fearing silence and little engagement (making it mean it must be not good).

A BIG reason why so many people fear judgement, is because they don’t have a compelling content strategy or skills. Which brings me to the next two…

4. You don’t have a plan

Without a clear strategy, you waste time thinking about what to post about. You do it when you’re distracted, instead of having pre-thought and pre-planned it.

With an effective strategy, you work backwards from your call to action.

5. You don’t know what to say and how to say it

This refers to the skills and structure of creating compelling content. Whether that’s speaking on video or writing, being able to influence and move people and engage people’s attention through the words you choose.

The more you develop your skills, the more money you’ll have in your bank account, and the more people you can help.

When you know how to create compelling content, your marketing becomes easier, faster, and more enjoyable, and – most importantly – it works.

You attract more of the right clients into your business.

The good news is, it’s a skill that anyone can develop.

If you want to get more clients quickly and set yourself up for success, with money in your bank account and new clients onboard, DM me the word ‘clients’ and I’ll send you information about how I can help you.

Big love

Get Your Content To Convert Higher By Appealing To These 7 Motivational Drivers

Ready to create content that DEEPLY resonates with your ideal clients?

If you’ve ever poured your heart into content only to feel like it’s not connecting with your audience, you’re not alone.

One common stumbling block? Not understanding the different motivations that drive people.

Most of us have been taught to speak to ONE specific person, one avatar.

But the reality is – we are rarely just communicating with one person.

Our content reaches a diverse audience with MULTIPLE people consuming it.

And each person has their own unique motivational drivers.

These drivers are the underlying psychological forces that compel people to engage with our content and services.

I’ve identified 7 different drivers that motivate behaviour, and when you understand each one, you can adjust your approach to increase your content’s conversion rate.

By the way, you can still create content as your true authentic self, AND cater to the various motivations of different people.

This video is perfect for you if you want to grow your audience, reach more people with your message and make a bigger impact.

Access the video here…

This is for you if you want to know how to inspire people to buy using your content, without coming across as forceful, aggressive, or salesy.

And it works for beginners, intermediate and advanced coaches looking to sign up more clients from their content, so if that’s you, you’re in the perfect place.

This is for you if you’re ready to create content that DEEPLY resonates with your ideal clients.

And if you’ve ever poured your heart into content only to feel like it’s not connecting with your audience.

One common stumbling block is not understanding the different motivations that drive people.

Each person has their own unique motivational drivers.

These drivers are the underlying psychological forces that compel people to engage with our content and services.

When it comes to creating compelling content specifically as female coaches, I’ve identified 7 key motivational drivers.

When you understand each one, you can adjust your approach to increase the likelihood of your content converting into clients.

There are lots of different reasons why people take action, but in my 19 years of being in business, these are the 7 most common that I see on a day-to-day basis in the coaching world.

By the way, you can still create content as your true authentic self, AND cater to the various motivations of different people.

This is perfect for you if you want to grow your audience, reach more people with your message and make a bigger impact.

Using your content to inspire action is a smart way to get more clients.

The better you do this in your content, the less you have to ‘sell’ because your content does a lot of the heavy-lifting for you.

It makes your sales calls easier and more enjoyable, and attracts more right-fit clients to you.

If you’re a coach, it also helps you to provide more value and results for your clients when you understand this.

When you’re strategic with your content, you can use it to motivate people to overcome the reasons why they’re not taking the next step towards working with you.

It’s important that when we share content, we don’t just share information, but use our content to overcome the limiting beliefs holding people back.

This is about turning strangers into clients, using elegant influence.

It’s about creating quality, not having to pump out endless content, or be on endless, long and hard sales calls.

When you understand influence and you’re able to do it elegantly and authentically, you can make money forever.

It replaces having to do all the old-school marketing techniques – like endless networking, chasing people, cold outreach, relying on word of mouth.

When you have this skill,

This is the new way of marketing that works online now that doesn’t involve cold DM’s or shouting.

So how do we do it?

We learn elegant influence. And one aspect of this is understanding motivational drivers.

Our subconscious mind is working on the answer to this question:

“How can I get away from pain and towards pleasure?”

The key to influencing people elegantly is tied to the likelihood of success and against the risk of failure and the cost of that failure if they do what you’re suggesting.

What stops people from taking action on what you’re offering is often fear of more pain and less pleasure.

Your job as an expert is to load up the elevated status side of the pleasure and decrease the risk of pain.

So here are the 7 key motivational drivers

Achievement: Recognition, accomplishment, success, or mastery. Intelligence. Feeling smart and capable. Setting and achieving goals. This driver is motivated by a passion for expertise and competence.

Belonging: The desire for social connection, a sense of belonging and trust in relationships. People with this driver are motivated by a sense of community and camaraderie.

Growth: The desire to learn new things, improve your abilities and overcome challenges, achieve progress. The aspiration to continue to become more highly skilled or knowledgeable in a particular area.

Impact: The desire to influence positive change. To lead others. People with this driver are motivated to help others transform. It’s the motivation to serve others, often driven by a sense of empathy and compassion.

Independence: The need for autonomy, freedom, and the ability to make our own choices. This driver is driven by a desire for self-determination.

Recognition: The need for acknowledgment, praise, or validation. This driver is fueled by a desire for approval and acknowledgment from others.

Security: The need for safety, stability, and predictability. People with this driver seek reassurance and a sense of protection.

When you know how to use these motivational drives to create compelling content, your marketing becomes easier, faster, and more enjoyable.

You connect better with your ideal clients and you attract more of the right clients.

The good news is, it’s a skill that anyone can develop.

If you want to get more clients quickly and set yourself up for success, with money in your bank account and new clients onboard, DM me the word ‘clients’ and I’ll send you information about how I can help you.

5 Types Of Content That Attract Consistent Leads

Want to know how to turn your content into clients?

You get that creating content is one of the most effective ways to attract qualified clients.

Yet you’re finding that your content isn’t consistently leading to clients.

It feels like you’re second-guessing what you’re doing, and if someone reaches out to you from your content, it can feel like a miracle…

The most frustrating part is not knowing how to address the issue if your content isn’t getting the response you hoped for.

A lot of times this happens when we post the same type of content, hoping that one day it will work.

For example, focusing solely on lead-generation content, without building the trust and connection needed for people to be inspired to reach out to you.

The challenge with this is that it overlooks essential elements crucial to the success of an effective content strategy.

There is a range of content types required to motivate action that most coaches don’t realise – and it’s hurting their business.

For someone to take action on your content, they need to trust you, feel a connection with you, and see you as the logical choice for solving their problem.

When we strategically include a variety of types and elements in our content, we can generate leads consistently every week.

In this video, I’m sharing the 5 types of content that myself and my clients rely on to consistently grow our audience with the right people.

Watch the video here…

link to video

Each type of content has a different purpose and I recommend rotating between them. Here are the 5:

There are 5 types of content that I use and my clients use to get clients.

Educate content

The purpose: Elevate your expertise, teach and coach your ideal client on a specific topic.

Examples: Share common mistakes, hot tips that will help them progress, answer commonly asked questions, and shift beliefs.

Engage content

The purpose: Build community and create engagement. Perfect for Facebook groups.

Examples: Invite your audience to discuss topics, answer fun questions, make recommendations, or offer a shout-out for them to share something.

Enlighten content

The purpose: Build trust and rapport, show and demonstrate.

Examples: Share glimpses behind the scenes of your life or business. Share case studies about a client, spotlight a member, celebrate wins – personal or people you know.

Edutain content

The purpose: Establish authority position, rapport, and connection.

Examples: Blend personal stories with a mixture of education and entertainment. Open up about your challenges and current life experiences, sprinkling in valuable insights. Express your opinion on something relevant to your audience.

Exchange content

The purpose: Invite action, to convert followers into clients.

Examples: Invite people to an event or strategy session, or make a direct offer to your program. Include who it’s for and the benefits and problems it solves.

A lot of content on social media, emails, or blog posts, exists as a disconnected collection rather than an active part of a client journey.

To get more leads, it’s beneficial to create your content pieces as part of your whole over-arching strategy in order to lead people along the journey from strangers to leads to clients.

It’s also important to know what to say in your content and how to structure it so that it inspires action and leads the right people working with you.

The way I do this is by using brain-based influence principles. It’s an elegant way to light up different parts of the brain used for decision-making.

When you know how to apply these principles in your content, you can experience a rapid increase in clients.

Which of course means more money, and transforming more lives.

If you want to get more clients quickly and set yourself up for success, with money in your bank account and new clients onboard, DM me the word ‘clients’ and I’ll send you information about how I can help you.

Love Coaching… But Don’t Enjoy Marketing? Here’s How To Get Clients In a Way You’ll LOVE

Are you passionate about coaching, but marketing feels like a chore?

Do you find yourself resisting writing content, recording videos or sending emails?

Maybe you keep putting off marketing until the last possible minute.

Maybe it intimidates you, feels like hard work, or is draining…

…yet you know that it’s essential to grow your coaching business.

But what if I told you it’s possible to not only tolerate marketing, but actually LOVE it?

What if marketing could feel as fulfilling as coaching?

And becomes something you look forward to doing, rather than something you just have to do.

If you want the secrets to attracting clients in a way that feels like a warm embrace, not a sales pitch…

Watch the video here…

Here are the 5 things…

1. Create an Irresistible Offer

Build a valuable asset for your audience – an irresistible offer that caters to your ideal clients’ needs.

Craft this offer thoughtfully, ensuring it aligns perfectly with what people want.

2. Share Passion with Ideal Clients Online

Engage your ideal clients on social media by discussing topics you’re passionate about.

Address only your ideal clients, avoiding general audiences, and focus on providing assistance in areas you can help them with.

3. Market Like You Coach

Embrace a coaching mindset in your marketing approach.

Use your marketing as a coaching session, guiding your audience’s beliefs and removing obstacles.

Educate and advise them, just like you would in a coaching or mentoring relationship.

4. Consistently Extend Elegant Invitations

Regularly invite your audience to take the next steps, such as downloading free resources or attending events.

Employ elegant and consistent invitations, gradually warming them up before proposing a working relationship.

5. Foster Strong Relationships

Maintain strong relationships with your audience.

Show care, encouragement, and belief in their potential, similar to the way a coach nurtures their clients.

Longevity in your coaching business comes from genuinely looking after your people.

P.S. Whenever you’re ready… here are 3 other ways I can help you grow your business:

1. Work with me to get more clients

If you’d like to work directly with me to get more clients… just send me a Message with the word “Clients”… tell me a little about your business and what you’d like to work on together, and I’ll get you all the details.

How To Get More Leads, Without Reaching Out To Strangers

Want to get more consistent leads, without reaching out to strangers?

Maybe your email list has stayed about the same size for the last 3 or 6 months.

Maybe the size of your Facebook group or your number of followers on Instagram isn’t growing consistently or as fast as you’d like.

And you want to see some tangible results for your effort.

If you want to help more people and make more money, there’s one thing you need more of – leads.

All else being equal, when you double your leads, you double your impact and income.

When leads flow, it’s hard to not make money.

If you want to get more quality leads in an elegant and enjoyable way, without cold outreach, my latest video is for you.

Watch the video here…

How to get consistent leads without reaching out to strangers

The only 4 ways that we can let anyone know about what we do are:

  • 1:1 to a warm audience – warm outreach
  • 1:many to a warm audience – sharing content
  • 1:1 to a cold audience – cold outreach
  • 1:many to a cold audience – paid ads

Most coaches that I work with don’t want to start with cold outreach.

Most of us want to get clients through word of mouth and referrals. It’s every business owner’s dream – getting clients without having to do anything except look after your current clients really well.

Referrals can be part of your business growth strategy, but I don’t view it in the same way as a lead-generation strategy, because it’s harder to control and almost impossible to solely rely on if you want to be successful long-term.

So how do I personally get leads consistently, without reaching out to strangers?

I share compelling content consistently.

One of the biggest mistakes I see coaches and experts making is that they’re not connecting with their audience in a compelling way.

When you develop your skill of content creation, you educate your audience, build trust with them, and show the right people that you’re the right person to help them.

If you do this, it’s like having a secret weapon that you can use whenever you need it.

Your email list and followers will grow daily.

When you turn your knowledge into compelling content that the right people just can’t ignore…

…it’s impossible not to get leads consistently into your business.

The purpose of content is to provide value. And if your content is valuable and people connect with you, they are often inspired to take a next step towards you.

Whether that’s…

  • Joining your Facebook group
  • Subscribing to your email list
  • Registering for your workshop
  • Booking in for a strategy session
  • Sending you a message and starting a conversation

The good news is that creating compelling content is a learned skill that anyone can develop. None of us were born knowing how to do this.

A lot of people say to me they’ve tried to get clients and it hasn’t worked. And when I ask them what they’ve done, it’s usually very little valuable content creation.

You might feel like you’re working really hard and long. But are you producing a high volume of valuable, compelling content consistently?

You might be wondering – What is compelling?

–> Compelling content is crafted to speak directly to your ideal clients’ frustrations, fears, dreams, and desires.

Compelling means that it moves people.

There’s a big difference between content that gets ‘likes’…

…and content that inspires people to want to continue to follow you and binge on your content.

As you develop this skill, you start to enjoy creating content more and reap the benefits of the right people responding to your content…

…and moving along your pathway to becoming a client.

If you have an effective content strategy:

  • You stop stressing about what to share and finally feel on top of your content
  • You have a simple system to follow, like a paint-by-numbers
  • You finally start getting clients from your content

There are 3 elements I make sure are in my content strategy – if you miss these you might find that:

  1. You miss out on reaching 75% of your audience who are wired differently to you
  2. Your content can get lost online
  3. Your content doesn’t resonate with your soulmate clients

The 3 elements of a good content strategy are:

1. Diversity

There are 20 different content types that my clients and I use and we rotate them to speak to different types of people because each piece of content has a different purpose.

Some posts are to attract and engage. Some posts are to build trust, nurture and invite more interaction. Some posts are to convert. Some posts are delivery posts for our clients.

There are 5 different categories of content I recommend:

  • Engage
  • Educate
  • Edutain
  • Enlighten
  • Exchange

When it comes to diversity, I also share both written content and video because people like consuming content in different ways.

Remember, your audience is made up of many different types of people.

I know we’ve been told for years in the marketing world: write to one person,  speak to one person.

I get why people teach this. But really, we’re never just speaking to one person. We are speaking to lots of different people. That’s the reality.

We want to make sure that we’re taking an audience-centric approach.

It’s not about us – it’s about our audience.

2. Consistency

You’ve probably heard this before. You probably know that it’s important. Are you doing it?

If you don’t have a strategy that you STICK to that includes sharing content consistently, you’ll probably find that you get to the end of the week and haven’t posted enough.

Or you have posted, but it’s not purposeful content that gets you leads.

You haven’t crafted it. It hasn’t been designed to lead people along that journey.

You might only be emailing your list every few weeks.

You might be posting when you’ve got a more quiet season and then maybe you disappear for a few months or a few weeks.

Then when you come back you’ve lost a lot of that traction and you don’t get the engagement.

When you have a consistent system, it takes a lot of the pressure away and it brings a lot of relief.

3. Intentionality

We need to make sure every piece of content has a purpose.

A lot of people post content without really thinking about why.

Think about the purpose of your last 3 posts.

Was it to…

  • Get more engagement?
  • Attract more people?
  • Overcome a belief?
  • Build more connection and trust?

If your content doesn’t have a purpose, it’s hard for it to achieve the goal of attracting the right clients.

There are so many things that you need to share with someone before they will invest money in you, and that’s why you need a strategy.

To make sure you’re covering all the points. You don’t overcome objections all in one post. You don’t tell all your stories in one post.

A content journey leads your audience from one step (say a social media post) to the next (maybe giving their email address).

A lot of posts on social media, emails or blog posts, exist as a disconnected function rather than an active part of a strategy.

In summary, the way I get consistent leads without reaching out to strangers is sharing valuable content consistently and strategically.

When you know how to create compelling content, your marketing becomes easier, faster, and more enjoyable.

You connect deeper with your ideal clients and you attract more of the right people into your business that you can help.

Hope this has been useful.

Big love
