How I Create Content That Attracts My Ideal Clients & Sells Out My Launches

“How do I find my ideal clients online?”

I get this question a lot from coaches.

Here’s the answer: They are around you right now.

They’re already on your friend list and following you. The problem isn’t finding them; it’s that your content is not compelling them.

So, instead of asking, “Where can I find clients?” ask, “How can I engage the potential clients in my audience?”

Adding more people to your friend list or group won’t help if your content is not compelling the people you already have.

If your content isn’t resonating, the problem is not that people don’t want what you offer.

It’s likely because your content is not communicating in a way that makes people see you as someone who can solve their problem.

Or you’re not communicating in a way that compels your ideal clients to take action.

Are you spending hours on content creation, and feeling overwhelmed or frustrated by it not leading to clients?

In this video, I’ll show you exactly how to shift from struggling with content to consistently generating new leads.

Here are 3 ways to create content that attracts your ideal clients and sells out your launches.

1. Master the art of compelling language

Compelling language makes people stop and look.

Repelling language makes people scroll past.

There are certain words and phrases that compel your ideal clients and certain words and phrases that repel them.

What makes language compelling?

It appeals to the subconscious desires that your audience has.

A Harvard study showed that 95% of our buying decisions are made subconsciously.

There are loads of subconscious desires that already exist in the minds of our ideal clients.

There are words and phrases you can use that trigger an emotional response.

So, what I do, is have a messaging document, all my clients do as well, and it has them all in one place. So that’s our go-to when it comes to creating content.

There are 4 driving forces that compel people to take action

  • Frustrations
  • Fears
  • Desires
  • Dreams

A lot of people think they know their ideal clients, but when I look at their content and ask them: “Do they actually say those words to you?”, in a lot of cases, they don’t.

A lot of people are getting their language from AI now, not from the actual humans in the way the say things.

And this can be tricky to do if you’ve been working in your industry for a while because we can forget the actual language that we used before we learned everything we know now.

To make content more compelling, add curiosity, surprise, and specificity. Make it tangible so people can imagine it.

Here are a few simple examples of content that I’ve made some tweaks to, to make it more compelling.

BEFORE – ‘3 Ideas For Healthy Lunches’. You might make some content like this is you are a health coach. It does the job, but it’s a bit bland.

AFTER – ‘3 Instant Cures For Boring Healthy Lunches.’

It’s a very simple tweak, but makes a big difference.

This is a simple example that shows you just how easily you can take some words and just make a headline pop.

BEFORE – ‘How To Be More Effective At Content Creation.’  This is fine. It does the job. But just adding a fine tweak we can make it stand out.

AFTER – ‘5 Surprising Ways To Make Your Content 3x More Engaging

Our brains love surprise. our brain loves novelty. The brain also loves curiosity, so using the word ‘surprise’ hooks people in.

BEFORE – ‘I’ll show you how to set goals for your relationship, and make sure they happen.’

AFTER – ‘You’ll pick up my unique relationship reset roadmap so you can finally achieve the deep connection you want to have with your partner.

When you name things and make them a formula, a roadmap, a blueprint, a method or pillars, you’re organising your knowledge and you’re putting a framework around it.

This adds curiosity and also appeals to the need we have for organised, structured knowledge.

When you structure and name your resources, they are no longer just tips, they become a tangible tool.

BEFORE – ‘I’ll show you how to create a successful bedtime routine’

AFTER –  ‘Learn my proven strategies for a successful bedtime routine, so you can finally enjoy tear-free story time every night.’

Little tweaks can make a huge difference.

2. Share pain killers not vitamins

A vitamin is something that’s good for you. We take them for a future health benefit.

Often we forget to take them

We think we should

We don’t notice if we miss it

It’s preventive

Vitamin content is missed. It makes people tune out.

If you have an extremely debilitating headache, you don’t need reminding or convinced or advertised to – you go looking for a pain killer.

What is the pain your people are in?

What is the pain killer that your clients are looking for?

And how can you provide that for them?

That’s when people stop on your content.

To create pain-killer content that people consume, share in a way that shows people why they need something they currently don’t have.

3. Help People Overcome Barriers to Action

One of my clients said to me once; “Kat, I’m thinking I need to post more funny stuff on my Facebook business page, because the funny stuff gets the most likes.”

I’m not sure if you’ve fallen into that trap before, but engagement is not the goal.

Engagement (while it helps some) isn’t everything. The most important question is whether you’re getting actual CLIENTS from your content.

Attention does not mean sales. The more attention you have, is there a greater possibility that it makes sense we have more eyeballs on you? Absolutely.

Some of my clients have referenced content of mine as the reason why they signed up with me. And some of that content that got very little engagement (and that they themselves didn’t engage with)

So, the first step is to get more eyeballs on us, but then we have to keep them there.

You want to ensure your content helps people to actually take action to change their life, not just to entertain them.

‘How To’ videos are everywhere on the internet. It’s the most searched term on Google. But we’ve got to remember, that it’s not just about people learning, it’s about people doing. It’s about people taking action on what you’re teaching them.

When you’re thinking about your content, ask yourself;

‘How can I help people overcome their resistance to making a change?’

‘How can I have them overcome their biggest objections to taking action on what I’m sharing?’

Creating compelling content is a skill use your content to overcome them. And it’s a skill that anyone can develop.

Over the last 8 years, I’ve been helping coaches all over the world using my signature formula to create compelling content that gets clients.

When you know how to create compelling content, your marketing becomes easier, faster, and more enjoyable, and you show up with more confidence.

You connect better with your ideal clients and you attract more of the right clients into your business that you can help.

And this is why I created a 1-day workshop called ‘How To Get Clients With Compelling Content.’

This workshop takes the best of what I’ve learned from using content to attract clients online over the last 8+ years…⠀

…and lays it all out in a simple formula that ANYONE can follow.

During the event, you’ll pick up the tools you can use to attract more amazing clients consistently.

You’ll get content that’s immediately actionable to save you valuable time, energy, & money.

I’m sharing how to…

  • Create a personalised, powerful and content strategy using my fill-in-the blanks 4-week Content Builder
  • Develop your skills using my unique brain-based client attraction content methods, so you can attract and enrol the right clients
  • Craft your content using my proven compelling content structure
  • Build trust and connection, so that the right people respond
  • Communicate the value of what you do, so when people are ready to buy, they’ll come to you

…so you can turn your content into a reliable client attraction machine to consistently attract hot leads & clients you love to work with.

Ultimately, so you’ll have confidence that you can turn on the tap of clients when you need them.

I am only running this event once this year, so if you’d like to know exactly how to get more quality clients consistently,

How To Keep Showing Up In Your Business When Things Don’t Work Out As Planned

This has been a topic of a lot of my conversations with my friends and clients lately.

Whether it was…

… a failed launch

… an event where not many (if any!) people registered or showed up

… or anything you feel disappointed about in your business…

How do we bounce back? How do we get motivated again to get back up and keep going?

I unpack this in this video:

If you have been in business for a while, you’ve probably experienced some things not going as you planned.

You put in a whole heap of effort, and you didn’t get the result you wanted, and it feels like a total disappointment.

If you’re feeling like this, you’re not alone.

Here are 3 ways to keep showing up in your business when things don’t work out as planned:
1. Think like a great leader

We are so quick to criticise what went wrong and slip into blame mode – blaming ourselves, blaming others, blaming tech, blaming the algorithm – but blaming doesn’t grow us or get us what we want. It keeps us in victim mode.

The hardest truth that I learned about this, but the most empowering, is that when something doesn’t work, there’s always something I can change.

And it’s my job to figure it out.

It’s not the algorithm’s job. It’s not my audience’s job. It’s my job.

This is good news. It means we can do something about it. It means we can switch on. We can get determined. We can pick ourselves back up.

Because we got into our business to have freedom – not to be trapped and miserable.

My word for the year is leadership and at the start of the year I wrote a list of the traits of great leaders:

  • Leaders ask hard questions
  • Leaders endure the hardships
  • Leaders are willing to show up no matter how they feel
  • Leaders celebrate success and honour effort
  • Leaders take high level responsibility

This is the harder way. And that’s why so few people do it.

But if you are the type of person that keeps going UNTIL she finds a way – you’ll find a way.

A leader says – I’ll find a way. I’ll make a way.

“Everything is up to me” is not easy – but it’s super empowering.

2. Reframe fast

If you’ve had a disappointment like a launch or event not giving you the results you wanted, it’s easy to slip into ‘poor me’ victim mode.

If you stay stuck dwelling on how disappointed you are, how hard business is, how bad the economy is or how saturated the market is, you’ll just feel bad.

And like attracts like – you’ll attract more of that energy to you.

But here’s the truth about entrepreneurship: not everything has to work the first time. Or even the fifth or tenth time.

The mentality “Everything I do has to work perfectly or I’m not going to do it” puts way too much pressure on yourself.

Here is an example of reframing fast. This is a conversation I had with a client recently about her event.

She messaged me –

“First event is done, only one person came but left. Actually, one other person I didn’t know popped in for less than a minute, and left straight away. Probably saw only one other person there and freaked out. I just treated it like a practice run. Was really helpful! I’m journaling now to process it xx

I replied with –

“WELL DONE!!! Proud of you! Great mindset! It’s all about the meaning we give it! This will be a story you will tell. You’ve created an incredibly valuable asset!!! It’s going to make you a lot of money and help a lot of people! We will keep tweaking and refining until it gets you the results you want.”

Then after her second event –

“Four people came. One left halfway. Feeling a bit disappointed at the turnout but I’ll just get your input on improving going forward. No one showed interest in my program but I sold with SUCH conviction thinking “Man, my program is amazing!!!” I could hear the passion and conviction. I gave away two prizes of sessions with me, and I’ll connect with the others too. It’s only a matter of tiiiiime.

Tomorrow is another day! Already excited to do my next one!!”

Perfect example of reframing fast!

3. Mine for the gold

Firstly, focus on the learnings and growth that came from that experience.

Then, look for the improvements that can be made.

You can’t throw a whole strategy away if it doesn’t work straight away.

There are so many factors to get right for something to work.

I’ve had people say to me things like “I tried an event, it didn’t work”. Or “I tried Facebook ads, they didn’t work” – and they’ve just left it at that.

The problem was not the strategy – the problem was that they didn’t mine for the gold.

All the little iterations you make add up and create success.

If I do an event that flops – even though I worked my butt off – I need to figure out what the problem was.

Was it the messaging? The design? The video marketing? The marketing posts? The way I presented? My confidence? The offer?

Essentially, we identify exactly what the problem is and the clear steps to solve it.

Why So Many Women Coaches Hate Selling… And How To Overcome It

Does selling feel uncomfortable to you?

Do you ever wonder if it’s possible to consistently enroll more ideal clients without using pushy sales techniques?

In this video, I share how to overcome any dislike or fear of selling you have, and even get to the point of finding it easy and fun.

Does this feel familiar?

· You dread having to sell and would rather someone sign up without having to have a sales call

· You ever feel awkward when you have to ask for money

· You tend to avoid sales calls

I’ve noticed that this distaste for selling is particularly common among women coaches.

Most of the women that I know, myself included, when we got into this industry, learned sales from men. No disrespect to the men. We love them. The strategies can work.

However, for many women, not everything we learned felt aligned to us.

And even though we might see it working, there’s something about it that makes us feel uncomfortable.

I started selling my services 20 years ago. I had left my job working at a telecommunications company to start a business as a personal trainer.

I went to a weekend business boot camp run by the gym where I worked, and I remember the moment I realised that I had to learn to sell.

We were taught to sell using a sales script. I did NOT want to follow a script. But I also didn’t want to fail.

So, I tried the script at the course. But when it came to doing it with real-life potential clients, I left a heap of the questions out. And I rushed the process.

I had a lot of fear of selling and I really did not like it.

I’ve noticed that this is particularly common among women coaches.

I asked a number of my business friends why they think so many women coaches hate selling.

Here are some of the answers I got:

We don’t want to seem aggressive or desperate

We don’t want to reek of desperation

I think there’s actually a mindset that it’s unfeminine to sell.

There’s a common narrative amongst women “If someone has a need, I should just help them.”

Many women are used to kids, friends, and partners turning to them when they need help, so in business it feels more natural to help for free than to sell.

This was from one of my male mentors who I highly respect and doesn’t teach pushy sales:
With men, there’s often more of a focus on money and finance – and more of a mission to get the sale. Most women are typically more caring and empathic, more understanding, better listeners, better at creating emotional connection. Because women are typically so much more relationship-orientated, I think women can be better at sales if they learn the skills.

All of this really got me thinking.

The sales process was primarily created based on the archetype of a salesman selling something like vacuum cleaners or cars.

It’s no wonder we get put off these masculine tactics.

There are so many reasons why the old-school sales methods DO NOT WORK for most of us women.

And what we are selling requires a deeper engagement and level of rapport and trust to create a connection.

Also, because we are selling deeply impactful services, the entire way that we capture hearts and minds is different to many traditional sales techniques.

Many of us have been sold to badly and don’t want to be that person.

I’ve observed that the way that men and women sell is actually quite different.

Our levels of comfort with different types of sales strategies are also quite different.

I was listening to a podcast recently called ‘The Life Coach School’ podcast by Brooke Castillo who was interviewing a lady called Aprille Franks. I heard a line that jumped out to me. It was: “men sell in a more penetrating way, and women are more attractors”.

Masculine energy projects, feminine energy receives and supports.

So, understanding the dynamics from a psychological standpoint on how different most men and women are when it comes to sales and marketing is really helpful.

We are a combination of masculine energy and feminine energy, and I truly do believe that we can bring both in a beautiful and effective way.

We can be who we are and sell in the way that we would appreciate being sold to.

A lot of women coaches know their service is worth good money, but they consistently don’t receive what they’re worth.

While women know that they need to sell in their business, a lot of women will literally sabotage themselves and not sell, or sell to their ability and then feel some resentment towards their business.

In some ways this is less about selling, and more about our ability to receive money.

Something I’ve observed that’s really interesting is that, if there’s no money exchange, as women we are incredible at selling if there’s something we think our girlfriends genuinely need.

I’ve also observed that women are amazing at ‘selling’ people on things – movies, shoes on sale, favourite cafes. Mums sell their kids on doing their homework or eating their veggies.

We are constantly spreading the word about things we like and influencing others.

But when it comes to selling ourselves? Not so much…

Whatever it is that has gotten us here, we have to put a stake in the ground and say “enough is enough”. We deserve to be paid well for the amazing service we provide.

I saw on Instagram recently a video by Sarah Blakely, the creator of Spanx. She shared that in the US, the year women could apply for a credit card without their husbands signature was 1974. It’s so wild to think about this…

And “Do you know what year women were granted the right to get a business loan on their own, without a man co-signing? 1988! What?! Think of all the businesses that could have been started by women before that!”

I think that history and the power that women didn’t have does have an impact on us because of the oppression of women that gets passed down through generations.

So, how do we start to enjoy selling?

It starts with our mindset. If you’re not strong in your confidence and self-worth, you’re going to keep hitting a ceiling.

If you haven’t done the inner work about why this is fear and dislike of selling is coming up, you’re always going to feel like you can’t charge what you’re worth.

You’re going to keep thinking: “Who am I to charge that? I don’t deserve it, I don’t want to be pushy, I don’t want to get rejected” and so on.

So, get coached on it. Getting coaching is the fastest way to shift your mindset.

Most of us realise that our success increases when we’re confident.

And the fastest and easiest way to become more confident is to become more competent. As we become more skilled at selling, our fear shrinks and our confidence grows.

Because if you don’t address your competence, it’s almost impossible to be confident and love selling. And get clients and grow your business to where you want it.

It’s totally possible to learn how to sell your services elegantly, authentically and confidently.

Ask yourself – what specific parts of the sales process do I need to get better at? Do I need to learn more about how to qualify, how to open sales conversations, how to help people with their concerns, how to present our offer, how to close sales?

Get around people who have the skills you want to develop and are making good money from coaching.

For example, if you want to earn six figures a year as a coach, spend time with other women coaches who earn six figures a year. Because that will build your belief.

I used to hate selling, but now I love it. I see it as a great opportunity to help people improve their lives. It is an honour to be part of a woman’s transformation journey.

And I want every woman to have confidence in what she’s selling and have vastly more sales conversations.

Because if you don’t sell, you don’t have clients. And if you don’t have clients – you don’t have the income you deserve and make the impact you want to make.

This is something I’ve helped thousands of women with. And I’m positive I can help you too.

Would you like help to sell your coaching services?

Learning how to sell elegantly and with confidence can be an absolute game-changer in your business.

I offer a free clarity call to see if we’re the right fit to work together to get you the results you deserve.

This call is specifically for experienced women coaches who want to get more ideal clients consistently.

5 Powerful Ways To Grow Your Following On Social Media

How do you grow your audience when not enough people know who you are?

In this video, I share how to grow your audience online, even if you’re starting from absolute zero.

You probably realise the importance of growing your followers online.

Your audience consists of people who will buy your services and potentially recommend you to other people.

But a lot of coaches struggle to grow their audience because…

  • They think have to share perfectly polished, professional content
  • They need to get loads of engagement, or what’s the point?
  • They get stuck in over-thinking and end up sharing minimal content

The truth is, we all start with no an audience, and share content when it feels like no one cares.

But every piece of content you create adds up and step-by-step it all starts to make a difference.

After working with thousands of business owners, I’ve found that what matters the most when it comes to growing your audience is having a way to develop trust with your audience.

So, how do you grow your audience when not enough people know who you are?

Here are 5 powerful ways to grow your following on social media:

1. Be a leader

If you want to get more followers, you have to think of yourself as a leader.

The best leaders lead with their followers in mind.

When it comes to the way you show up on social media, are you thinking about it as what you feel like sharing or what your followers really want?

To get more followers, start by thinking why should anyone spend their energy following me?

What followers crave the most are trust, authenticity, compassion, and hope – encouraging them to believe in a better future.

2. Be original

In an online world now saturated with AI, originality stands out.

This is about showing people the real you.

You don’t need to be like someone else, you need to be more of yourself.

So many people are copying other people.

People can usually tell when it’s not genuine because you don’t talk about it in a confident, certain way like you would if you came up with it yourself.

Being original takes courage. Because not everyone’s going to like it, and that’s okay. Marketing is about attracting the right people and repelling the rest.

And then you get the right people into your business, and life becomes super exciting.

3. Be impactful

Add impact everywhere you show up.

Impact is like a bridge that connects us towards or away from the results we want.

We have the powerful ability to impact the people who read or hear our words.

The way we show up and how much thought we put into our words impacts people and what we say has the power to literally be life-changing.

Take the time to tap into your incredible creative brain and craft your words on social media in a way that inspires action.

Intentionally transfer your consciousness to your audience and watch the right people engage and the wrong ones fall away.

4. Be specific

A lot of content I see online is vague.

We can’t make much impact when we’re not speaking specifically to the people we are best suited to serve.

Back in the day, we could be more broad, but now, because of the saturation online, if you want to get and keep people’s attention, you have to speak very specifically to them.

It’s important when people see your content on social media that they are clear on exactly what you do and how you help people.

Do a little mental check right now. Think about your website, your social media profiles, your comments that you’re putting online – are you speaking very directly and very specifically to your ideal client?

We can’t impact people unless they feel like we get them.

5. Be valuable

Deliver value wherever you go.

Value meets people where they’re at and shows them a world that’s possible for them.

People who willing and generously share their organised knowledge without asking for anything in return are the ones who stand out online and steadily grow their following.

When use these principles to grow your following on social media, you can connect better with potential ideal clients and attract more of the right people that you can help, into your world.

And what that ultimately means is that you can help more people, make a greater impact, and have a valuable asset in your business.

Would you like to know how to apply this in your business so you can get more clients?

I help people to grow their following on social media, grow their email list and get more clients consistently.

We do this by using compelling content with clear, unique messaging that speaks directly to your ideal clients.

Send me a message (link to my messenger from super signature) and let’s chat about what you need and how I can help you.

Keep showing up, keep shining, and keep sharing, the world needs your words.

The Most Effective Way To Enrol Clients Without Doing Sales Calls

Do you want to grow your coaching business, and make a bigger impact in the world?

But you DON’T love sales calls?

You enjoy working on your business. You enjoy coaching people…

…but the thought of sales calls is not your idea of fun?

The good news is, there is another way to get clients and in this video I shared how to do it.

You can access the video here:

It’s easy to assume there are things we just have to ‘suck it up’ in our business. Even if we don’t enjoy them. And that can be the case when we’re starting out.

But YOU are the CEO of your business. You get to choose how you want to run it. And as you progress further in business, you want to scale and leverage your time more.

But, if you don’t have a predictable way of getting clients without 1-on-1 sales conversations, then you’re stuck.

Firstly, I want to explain something when it comes to client attraction. This is a really simple way to look at it.

There are 3 ABC’S to getting clients:

A – ATTRACT

Being able to attract your avatar (your ideal client) is the first step.

This means we have to understand our ideal client and what gets their attention.

We need to hone our skill of crafting our language in ‍a precise way that resonates with OUR people.

B – BUILD trust

Trust is the glue that holds relationships together.

Without trust, it’s impossible to get clients.

So many people lose sales because they don’t have the trust established.

The interesting thing about trust is that you can’t CONVINCE someone to believe you’re trustworthy.

You have to EARN trust.

I like to think of it like this – trust is stored & nurtured in someone’s emotional account.

You make deposits into your followers’ emotional accounts by providing value to them.

Then they exchange that trust when they engage with you & buy from you.

So, how do you develop more trust with your followers?

There’s one way to build trust I’ve found that trumps everything. And that is EARNING TIME.

People don’t just give their time for free. We’ve got to exchange value for their attention.

If you don’t have time with someone, it’s almost impossible to get them to trust you.

C – CONVERT

How do you convert people into clients?

How do you earn people’s time when we’re so distracted online?

You need a way to invite people to make a decision and take action to work with you, in a way that’s elegant and authentic.

There are only 3 ways to convert people in clients:

1 – 1-to-1
2 – 1-to-many – inviting people in a group
3 – None-to-many

If you’re dedicated to growing your coaching business, and want to do it without doing endless 1-on-1 sales calls…

…but you want more clients consistently, the most effective way to do it is to enrol multiple people into your program at once.

And the BEST way to do it, is by running online events.

A conversion event allows you to maximise the list of leads you’ve created from your funnel, present your offer to a group of people and convert the right-fit people into clients.

When you have an event, the need, the trust, the desire, the emotions, the likeability, the formula – all those things that people need to be in there to make a buying decision are all in one presentation.

It’s by far the most effective strategy for coaches.

You’ve heard about running events before, no doubt.

But there’s a reason why you’re currently not doing them. Or doing them at the level that you want to.

My suggestion is to write that reason down.

Then ask yourself just one question “Am I happy with that reason?”

One of my clients signed up 10 clients and made five-figures in just 90 minutes.

When you have a conversion event, it does the selling for you, so you don’t need to do any sales calls.

With this skill – you can make money anytime, anywhere – & that’s a priceless asset.

We build trust faster, when we can see a person, look at their mannerisms and feel if they’re authentic and genuine, which is hard to do just reading words on a page.

That’s really great news if you like talking about what you love!

When you know how to deliver effective events…

You significantly leverage your time.

You create credibility and trust. You position yourself as the expert, go-to person in your ideal client’s mind.

You have a system to sign up clients whenever you want them.

You build deeper relationships with people who love what you’re sharing.

And people choose you over other options because they have trust in you.

It takes courage and it takes preparation because you have to organise your knowledge.

It’s the system that’s going to save you years in the long run.

When you organise your knowledge, and package it up correctly, then you truly can have a business at home that makes lots of money and helps a lot of people.

If you’re willing to run online events (even if you don’t currently know how),you’ll create an incredibly valuable asset.

It allows you to leverage your time, be seen as an expert, and share to multiple people at once, so you can enrol new clients consistently and predictably.

Getting clients without sales calls is simple once you know how.

But without a strategy, it’s not easy.

It’s not just knowing that events are the thing that gets clients. It’s knowing how to do events so they convert clients.

Anyone can sit at home and put up an event on Eventbrite and Facebook – that’s easy.

But knowing how to use events to convert followers into clients, that’s where most people need help.

You might be thinking – “I’d love to run an online event, but it feels overwhelming and I don’t know where to start”.
