Supercharge Your Business Growth With My 5-Step Video Formula

Do you feel like you’ve hit a ceiling with the impact and income you’re creating in your business?

Have you been sharing content with the same audience for months and not seeing the results you want?

You want to attract more clients but don’t know what to do differently.

Maybe you tend to overcomplicate or overthink things when it comes to content marketing.

There are 2 things your content MUST have in order for your business to grow: connection and credibility.

Connection is necessary for people to feel they know and like you. Without it, they’re not going to become a client.

Credibility demonstrates your ability to help people achieve a result. It’s the authority and trust piece of your content.

What’s the fastest way to accelerate the growth of your connection and credibility?

One word – video.

When it comes to growing your business through video content, three common problems arise.

  • Many people feel overwhelmed by the amount of information and tasks involved, causing them to procrastinate and struggle with consistency.
  • Lack of confidence hinders their ability to show up authentically and fearlessly on camera, leading to self-doubt and avoidance.
  • Not knowing how to effectively communicate their message. resulting in rambling and ineffective content.

Overcoming these problems requires a clear formula and structure to follow, ensuring enjoyable and valuable videos that resonate with viewers.

Here is the 5-step video formula…

1. Grab attention by using powerful questions or strong statements that resonate with your ideal clients, capturing their interest from the start.

2. Explain the importance of the topic and provide compelling reasons for viewers to pay attention and make a change, helping them understand the value they will gain from your content.

3. Establish credibility by briefly highlighting your qualifications or experience in the field, building trust and confidence in your expertise.

4. Teach your audience by offering educational content that addresses one specific problem and challenges their existing beliefs, empowering them with valuable knowledge and insights.

5. Include a call to action, giving viewers two options to engage with you, such as typing a word in the comments or sending a direct message, facilitating active participation, and fostering a sense of connection.

How To Not Suck At Facebook Live Videos

So you’re planning on doing a Facebook Live video! Congrats!

Going live on Facebook is one of the best ways to get in front of more people and build trust, offer value and attract your ideal clients.

Going live on video can be scary, but every one after gets easier and easier.

Learn my top tips to doing Facebook Live video well.

1. Remember that it’s a conversation, not a performance

This guide is called ‘how to not suck’, rather than ‘how to be amazing’ – because it’s really not about perfection.

You already have an audience who wants to hear what you have to say, so that takes the pressure off.

Be confident. You know your stuff. People aren’t there to critique you – they are there because they want to be. They’re your tribe.

Be real!

Tell them some of your own failures and why you do what you do.

2. Practice

It’s nice to warm yourself up by just going live to chat about small topics at first, before you take on the longer segments with big takeaways.

Just speak like you’re talking to a friend rather than “giving a presentation.”

Practice a few times before going live. The most important bits to practice are the start and the end. The middle flows easily, as it’s usually our content comfort zone.

Record some videos that aren’t live if so you start feeling more comfortable. Practice helps a LOT with nerves.

3. Have a structure

You have content to focus on so don’t waffle on. You want to provide the all-important “value in advance”.

If something goes wrong, just talk it out or improvise, everyone loves knowing you are an actual human 😉

Remember, you will not lose people by being yourself and making mistakes. You’re human and people relate to that.

4. Speak to one person

Imagine that you are talking to one person who you know needs to hear what you have to say.

Tell them what they need to hear.

Just one person. Maybe her name is camera 😉

Solve a small problem and then engage her further.

5. Write a Note

Make a few bullet points on sticky notes just in case you blank out.

Try to keep it to 1-3 key points so that you don’t go on for too long. If you have more than 3 points you want to cover, then congrats – you have a series now and you can invite them back later for the rest of the content!

I like to write my opening and closing words and my 1-3 point on a small piece of paper with a hole cut in the middle and place it over where the lens is.

It’s a good prompt, and it doesn’t mean you lose engagement because I just slightly look away for a brief second then look back to the lens.

6. Get engagement

Encourage people to comment and engage with you.

Firstly, it helps more people to see the video

Secondly it also feels more enjoyable when it feels more like a conversation than a monologue.

7. Power Pose

Power pose for 60 seconds beforehand and your testosterone will increase and your cortisol will decrease.

You will literally feel like you’ve got this!

Personally, I like Wonder Woman 🙂

8. Write and speak some powerful affirmations

Set the intention of a successful video.

Write down empowering affirmations and say them out loud before you go live.

Here are some examples:

“I believe that this video can make a change in someone’s life, so it’s worth it”

“I believe that the right people will enjoy consuming my content”

“I believe that I am a great communicator and what I have to say is meaningful and important”

“I believe that every video I do is a step closer to my ultimate vision”

Turn the fear into excitement and tell yourself that you are going to be amazing – because you will be.

9. Breathe deeply

Close your eyes and take 5-10 deep breaths with looooong exhales before you go live. This will slow down your heart rate.

A breathing meditation beforehand can help also.

10. Be yourself and speak from your heart

‘nuff said.

You’ve definitely got this!
