How To End the Year Strong & Start the New Year Ready

How To End the Year Strong & Start the New Year Ready

Want to finish the year well with no regrets?

Wondering how to make the most of these last few weeks of the year?

In this video, I share practical, actionable steps to finish the year strong and set yourself up for success in the new year.

There are 3 big mistakes that a lot of business owners make at the end of the year that can seriously set you back.

Mistake #1: Taking your foot off the accelerator too early

I know it’s tempting to ease off the accelerator and switch to cruise control as the year winds down.

Often people around us are getting into holiday mode and the desire to take it easy, relax, and celebrate can be a strong pull.

But letting go too soon can cause you to miss valuable opportunities to finish outstanding tasks, complete projects, and set yourself up for momentum in the new year.

It’s also easy at this time of year to focus on what’s going on for us personally – maybe Christmas shopping, buying gifts, planning parties and meals, getting ready for the holidays etc.

It can be a full-on season.

But letting go of business tasks too soon can cause us to miss valuable opportunities to finish outstanding tasks, complete projects, and set ourselves up for momentum in the new year.

If you relate to that tension –here are some helpful questions to consider:

If you slow down now in your business, are you happy with your reasons?

And will you be happy with that decision in the future?

Or would you rather finish the year knowing you’ve done everything possible to close out strong and with a sense of deep satisfaction?

Your potential clients still have pressing needs right now, and you can tap into those needs by continuing to share relevant, valuable content.

So many people are still thinking about what they need help with.

Problems don’t go on holiday. People are still struggling and need help.

And people are still buying.

So don’t miss the opportunity to reach out, share your expertise, and even sign up new clients in this season.

Mistake #2: Not looking after your existing clients well

Do your current clients still need your support?

If the answer is yes, make sure you’re there for them.

A lot of business owners constantly focus so much of their time and attention on attracting new clients.

But the reality is that repeat clients are often your most valuable asset.

They are the ones who already trust you and believe in you.

If you want loyal clients that you continue to work with and support, make sure you’re there for them and don’t neglect checking in and finding out what they need.

Mistake #3: Not setting up your marketing plan for next year

In other words, not finishing this year with a plan for not just your first week back, but your first campaign and a marketing planner for the whole of next year.

If you don’t start thinking about your marketing for next year, you risk missing out on potential clients in the coming months.

It’s a huge mistake because it can leave you with an empty pipeline as the new year begins, and it’ll be hard to regain momentum once you return from your holiday.

If you’ve spent any part of this year kind of confused, scattered, and unsure about what to focus on – it’s probably because you didn’t have a clear plan.

The good news is, you don’t have to let that happen. You can create a marketing plan that generates leads, the creates momentum, and keeps clients coming in consistently.

This is a crucial time: Get this right, and you can end the year strong and start the year ready.

The Secret To Messaging That Sells The Transformation, Not The Journey

A big mistake that a lot of coaches make with their content is sharing ‘behind the door’ content upfront.

The challenge with this is that it can overwhelm your audience before they’re even ready to dive in.

When you share too much too soon, it can leave people feeling confused, unsure of where to start, or like they need to know everything before taking action.

Instead of attracting them, it can unintentionally push them away.

People need to understand why they should care about your content and how it can help them before you dive into the details.

‘Front-of-door’ marketing is content that sparks curiosity, speaks to their deepest desires and ultimately attracts more clients.

In my latest video, I revealed how to flip the script and focus on ‘front-of-door’ marketing to attract more of the right clients.

I shared exactly how to identify which content belongs at the ‘Front of Door’, and how to position it in a way that draws your ideal clients in and gets them excited for the next step.

You can watch the video here

Front of Door: The Sexy Stuff

This is the face of your marketing. It focuses on outcomes, desires, and dreams, appealing to the emotions and aspirations of your audience. It’s all about what they want, not necessarily what they need to do to get there.

It’s not about the details just yet – it’s about painting the vision of what they’ll achieve.

This means that we need to ‘dress the door’ so that people want to come in.

Key elements of Front-of-Door content:

  • Benefits-focused: Show them how their life will improve.
    Highlight the transformation they’ll experience.
  • Simple, clear language: Keep it accessible and easy to digest.
  • Exciting promises: People love things to be faster, easier, and to get more of what they enjoy.

Share the outcome they’re craving, the transformation they’ll experience, and why your solution is the key to their success. This is the stuff that gets them excited and ready to step inside the door to learn more.

Once they’re through the door, that’s when you can share the deeper, more complex content – everything from your method to the specific steps they’ll need to take.

Behind the Door: The Unsexy Essentials

This is where you deliver on the promises made upfront. It’s the work, the systems, and the steps required to achieve the outcomes.

It’s less glamorous, but it’s vital for delivering results and building credibility.

Behind the door content focuses on:

  • The method (how-to and process)
  • Necessary details and complexity
  • Expert-driven content that builds capability

It’s the technical steps, the nitty-gritty that your clients need to succeed – but it’s not what they’re initially looking for. Think of it as the “work” that happens after they’ve already committed.

This distinction will help you attract your ideal audience with compelling language upfront while reserving the details and methods for when they’re engaged in your services.

Why This Matters

  1. Clarity in Messaging: Your audience decides quickly whether you’re the right fit. Front-of-Door messaging grabs attention; Behind-the-Door content builds trust.
  2. Positioning Expertise: By showcasing results upfront and methodology later, you avoid overwhelming potential clients while demonstrating depth.
  3. Aligned Conversions: People buy the dream. Once they commit, they’re ready to invest in the nitty-gritty.

A lot of people understand this concept intellectually, but find it hard to separate method from outcome. Because quite honestly, it can be really challenging to separate those two.

So I’ll give you some examples.

Examples:

Behind the Door Content (for a business owner):

  • Learn SEO optimisation
  • Understand technical know-how
  • Manage the back-end of marketing funnels
  • Learn how to sell
  • Implement digital systems
  • Track, test, and measure
  • Manage finances and budgets

Front of Door Content (for a business owner):

  • Attract more clients effortlessly
  • Make more money while working less
  • Create a business you truly love
  • Build a thriving brand
  • Enjoy your marketing
  • Create a bigger impact in people’s lives
  • Have more lifestyle and time freedom

Practical Tips for Applying This Framework

  1. Front of Door: Use in all of your marketing content online, in your landing pages and funnels, on your website, social media, and when you’re talking to people about your business.
  2. Behind the Door: Incorporate into your courses, coaching calls, and post-sale onboarding. Dive into the “how” and the details.
  3. Balance the Two: Remember, the goal is to create a seamless journey between both of these.
Over-deliver on the Back-Door content to exceed the expectations set at the front.
  4. When you master the Front of Door vs. Behind the Door approach, you can attract the right audience, excite them about what’s possible, and then deliver the transformational results they signed up for.

Need help with this?

If we haven’t worked together before, I’m offering a FREE content makeover for the first 3 people who

Kat xo

The Thing I Didn’t Even Know I Needed That Helped Me 1.5x My Income

If you’re like many coaches, you’ve attended workshops, seminars, or bought online courses, filling notebooks with ideas and insights.

But despite your efforts, something’s missing. You have a real hunger to see more tangible results for all the effort you’ve put into learning.

Urgent things keep popping up and getting your focus and taking priority.

And those ideas keep getting pushed aside.

And the result? Fewer sales conversations, not as many clients as you’d like, and that gnawing feeling of your untapped potential.

I know this because I’ve been there too. Then I made one simple change that increased my income by 1.5x – without working longer hours.

In this video, I reveal the game-changing shift that transformed my business (and my income).

Let me tell you how it all began.

In November 2021, my friend Rhys messaged me on Facebook, and said, “Hey, there’s a workshop happening with a group of coaches. Wanna come as my guest?”

At first, I was skeptical. I’d attended so many workshops before, and I couldn’t help but wonder: Will this just be more information that I don’t have time to implement?

But Rhys seemed excited about it, and he’s someone I respect.

Looking back, that one decision changed the course of my business in so many ways I never expected.

Because when I joined that Zoom room, it was full of coaches. People who were doing similar kind of work as me, and most people had the same goals and challenges.

It felt like I’d finally found a place where everyone was speaking my language.

I didn’t just learn from the presenter – I learned from everyone.

No one was making excuses or getting stuck in stories about why things weren’t happening.

Instead, we all dove right in, rolling up our sleeves and putting in the work together. The energy was electric.

There was this contagious buzz as we collaborated, giving each other immediate input that took everything we were doing to the next level.

There is something so powerful about being surrounded by people who are committed, focused, and driven to succeed.

Being in that room helped me realise what I’d been missing: the power of a quality community of coaches.

When you’re around others who share your goals and are going through the same journey, something magical happens. Their energy lifts you up.

You feel motivated by seeing what they’re doing, and inspired to push yourself further. There’s an energy to co-working that inspires you to finish things.

Here’s the thing – if you’re constantly talking to people who don’t run their own business, you’re not going to get the advice you need to grow.

You’re going to be influenced by their mindset. And often – their mindset is very different to what is required to be successful as a coach.

But in a group of other coaches, you’re surrounded by like-minded people who get it, who can offer guidance and perspective that makes a real difference.

Surrounding yourself with successful people is one of the fastest ways to grow.

If you’re not part of a group experience, here are some problems you might be facing:

  1. Limited Network and Connections
“When you’re solo, you miss out on the support and connections that a group of like-minded coaches or entrepreneurs can provide. Those people offer inspiration, ideas, and invaluable feedback.
  2. Isolation and Lack of Community
“Without a community, it’s easy to feel isolated. You miss out on the shared knowledge and mutual encouragement that comes from being in a group.
  3. Limited Feedback Opportunities
Being Most people aren’t analysing what’s working and what’s not. Therefore, they’re not getting better – they’re not improving and progressing because they don’t know why it’s not working. So, they keep doing the same things and getting the same results.
  4. Less Accountability
Accountability is so powerful. In a group, you have people who help keep you on track, making sure you follow through on your goals. Alone, it’s much easier to procrastinate or lose momentum.
  5. Reduced Learning Opportunities
In a group, you get to learn from others’ experiences, successes, and mistakes. Alone, you’re limited to your own perspective, which can slow down your growth.

This all leads to slower growth and progress.

All these issues add up, and they can lead to significantly slower growth and limited progress.

That’s why I’m such a huge advocate for quality communities with people doing similar work to you.

And that’s what I want to offer you.

Next week I’m hosting a VIP Virtual Retreat for my members and I’d love to offer you a one-time free guest pass.

You’ll get to experience what it’s like to be in a group setting like this and the impact of being surrounded by people who are as committed to growth as you are.

Together, we’ll create 4 powerful pieces of content that every coach needs to sell their offer, using my proven, signature frameworks.

5 Types Of Content That Consistently Attract Clients

Are you sharing content and hoping it will generate more leads?

Are you crossing your fingers, waiting to see results?

If your content isn’t working, one of the most frustrating challenges is not knowing how to fix it.

In this video, I break down the 5 types of content that my clients and I use to consistently grow our audience with the right people.

For someone to want to follow you, they need to trust you, feel a genuine connection with you, and see you as the logical solution to their problem.

With a clear and strategic content plan, you can create content that works, consistently.

Most coaches don’t realise that they’re missing 3 key content strategy essentials and it’s hurting their business growth.

One of crucial elements is diversity.

Using a variety of content types guides potential clients through a journey to working with you.

By strategically incorporating a mix of these content types, you can generate leads consistently, week after week.

There are 5 types of content that my clients and I use to consistently grow our audience with the right people. Each type has a different purpose.

If you start incorporating these different types of content and rotate between them, you give yourself a much higher chance of attracting leads consistently.

Here are the 5 types I recommend:

1. Engage

The purpose: Build community.

This is all about sparking conversations and making connections with your audience.

Invite them to get involved by discussing a topic, answering a question, or sharing a favorite. Whether it’s a quote, a book, or a podcast they love—it’s a great way to get people talking and feeling part of a community.

2. Educate

The purpose: Elevate your expertise.

This is where you get to teach and share your knowledge, which builds trust.

Talk about common myths or mistakes you’ve seen, share how-tos based on your personal experiences (not just what you found on Google or ChatGPT!), or answer frequently asked questions.

This is also a good time to challenge any limiting beliefs your audience might have.

3. Enlighten

The purpose: Show and demonstrate

Here’s where you let your personality shine and build rapport.

Share behind-the-scenes moments, highlight a success story, or celebrate a win—whether it’s yours or someone else’s. It’s all about creating those personal connections and being relatable.

4. Edutain

The purpose: Educate with entertainment

This is a fun mix of teaching and storytelling. You could share personal stories, struggles, or even offer your opinion on a trending topic. People love learning when they’re also entertained.

When you make your content engaging and memorable, it helps build deeper connections with your audience.

5. Exchange

The purpose: Invite action, convert into clients

Don’t be shy about inviting people to take the next step with you.

Whether it’s joining your program, signing up for a strategy session, or attending an event, make sure you’re offering value and a clear next step.

Some people give so much without ever making an offer, and others promote too much without offering enough value.

The key is finding a balance. Remember, making offers isn’t just about keeping your business going—it’s about helping people achieve real transformation.

In this session, we discussed different types of content.

You also need to know the structure of what to say and how to say it, in order to inspire action and have your content lead to clients.

If you want to know exactly how to do this, you’re invited to join us at my upcoming FREE workshop ‘How To Get Coaching Clients With Compelling Content’.

I’m diving deep into each of these pillars and showing you how to apply them in your business so you can attract more amazing clients while you’re talking about what you love.

This workshop takes the best of what I’ve learned from attracting clients consistently online over the last 8 years…
⠀
…and lays it all out in a simple formula that anyone can follow.

Check it out and reserve your seat at the FREE workshop

The journey is always easier and much faster with expert support guiding you every step of the way.

I’m my sharing my signature content creation formula, and how to use your content to enrol new clients into your program or services consistently.

This is the final time I’m running this event this year, so if you’d like to know exactly how to get more quality clients consistently, don’t miss out!

3 Sneaky Content Mistakes That Cost You Clients (and how to fix them)

People with problems you can solve are wading through social media right now.

They are hanging for the help you provide, but most of them don’t realise the value of it.

If you can’t get your content to convert followers into clients, it usually comes down to some simple content mistakes.

It’s not because what you offer isn’t awesome, it’s because your words aren’t compelling the right people.

Compelling content strategically grows your audience, attracts your ideal clients, and inspires the right people to buy from you.

In this video, I uncover 3 Sneaky Content Mistakes that could be costing you clients – and trust me, these are the ones you don’t want to overlook!

Here are 3 Sneaky Content Mistakes that can cost you clients:

1. Focusing too much on engagement, not conversion

When we share content, we want people to like it. But it’s easy to get swept up with a focus on getting likes, rather than clients.

There’s so much content, especially on Instagram, that’s focused on how to get more followers, reach, or views. Which are important, but all of those things are focused on visibility, not sales.

Engagement (while it helps) isn’t everything. The most important question is whether you’re getting CLIENTS from your content.

Adding more people to your friend list or group won’t help if your content is not compelling the people you already have.

Spending too long creating entertaining content can be a distraction if you’re struggling to get clients.

When it comes to conversion, one ‘a-ha moment’ is worth 100 entertaining posts.

People might like entertaining posts, but that doesn’t mean they trust you enough to give you money.

2. Leaving people full, not hungry

The main job of your marketing content is to make people hungry, NOT full.

It’s important to give value in our content. But you can’t “give away everything” and leave nothing to be desired.

We can give away valuable content for free, AND leave them hungry for more.

If you’re not creating a feeling of curiosity for your audience, they will likely scroll away.

So, what do we do instead?

I call it the Value-Void dance.

You share value that helps them partially solve a problem they have, showing that you understand that problem completely and intimately – because you used to have the same problem.

Then you give them a piece of value to solve it.

But there’s a second important step. You then open up a NEW void.

It’s like opening a new door to a new problem.

The Value-Void dance.

This gives people a taste of what you can help them with, you can even help them solve micro problems they have – but to solve their biggest problem completely, they need to work with you.

Think about it – how often has your life transformed because you consumed one piece of content. It’s rare right?

The most transformational changes we make where change is powerful and lasting almost always happen when we invest and work with someone.

So, it’s doing people a disservice if they think that your free content can change their life.

It’s not authentic or true to pretend that your free content will do that.

When we give people the impression that it will, we’re not serving them to the highest level.

Give them a taste, help them solve a smaller problem, but show them that it’s a small part of the total transformation that you offer.

3. Posting stand-alone content, not moving people along a client journey

Posting one-off content pieces is fine – if the goal isn’t to use your content to get clients.

Sharing content that converts to clients is more strategic.

It’s not about just sharing a tip with a call to action to book a call with you, or come to your event, or sign up to your program.

It’s not just showing your offer over and over. We need to be more strategic than that.

Your entire content strategy needs to warm your audience up and move them through the stages of the client journey.

When you use your content strategically, people move through phases from awareness, to building trust, to making a buying decision.

It happens with a content strategy with multiple pieces of content that all have a job to do.

This part is particularly important when it comes to selling coaching services, courses or memberships – any services that are invisible or intangible.
This is what I call power content. It literally has a job to do to move people through the client journey.

Power content has a strong intention and message and shifts a belief. It drives a specific point.

The majority of your content piece should be on making people aware of the cause of their problem.

This is where we go deeper, and show that we understand the reason why they have the problem.

As we shift their beliefs, to bring more and more awareness to the cause of the problem, now they’re leaning in. Now they’re hungry.

If you want to attract clients that are serious about getting results, educate them on the real reasons why they don’t already have the results, and they will be inspired to work with you.

When you overcome these 3 mistakes and know exactly how to create compelling content, your marketing becomes easier, faster, and more enjoyable.

And most importantly, you attract more of the right clients into your business that you can help.

The good news is, you don’t need to be posting a ton of content. You just need to craft your words in a way that will have people hungry for what you have to offer.

When you create content strategically, you focus on quality over quantity.

If you want to know exactly how to do this, join us at our …
