The MIND Upgrade: 4 Powerful Steps To Elevate Your Thinking & Reach Your Next Level Of Business Success

I spent the weekend with 23 women at our VIP Virtual Retreat.

And I can hardly believe what happened.

It BLEW. MY. MIND! I’m still buzzing from it!

I shared how to optimise your offer and how to sell it.

But this retreat went so far beyond marketing and sales.

I share a lot of practical business training in my community, like social media marketing, funnels, content etc.

However, some of the biggest challenges that most of my clients are facing at the moment are mindset challenges. And they’re showing up in every area of their business.

We know mindset is powerful, but we can easily brush off the importance of working on it in the busyness of what we’re doing.

But working on our mindset is so important because all success starts with our thinking.

The conversations at our recent retreat were so powerful. They were electric.

There were tears, breakthroughs, new decisions made – it was incredible.

So, I wanted to share some of the behind-the-scenes secrets and how you can easily apply the mindset principles I shared to create a rapid breakthrough in your business.   

I shared a simple 4-step mindset uplevel formula that I created called ‘The MIND Upgrade’.

I did a demonstration with a lady who I’d never met before, and she had a significant breakthrough in less than 7 minutes.

The key with this process, is to be absolutely honest. It only works if you’re willing to change, and willing to be totally real.

Your ‘lower/safe self’ is battling your ‘higher/brave self’.

The voices are not you. They are part of you.

Literally, the lower self part of your brain sits at the top of your spinal cord, deep inside your skull at the base of the brain.

It’s responsible for instinct and survival.

The higher self is your prefrontal cortex – it sits higher in your brain, and it’s responsible for logic, reasoning, and decision making.

Your ‘higher/brave self’ wants you to do great and glorious things.

But it first needs reassurance that change is safe and that you won’t die if you take a risk and do something new.

This is why when you go to do something that feels so simple, like a live video, or share, the excuses sound real – but when you really think about it using your higher self – they’re usually  irrational.

Like…

I don’t have time

It’s too hard

I’m bad at tech

What if no one responds

What’s the point, it won’t work anyway etc.

Our lower brain starts catastrophising – blowing it out of proportion because it’s terrified of us stepping outside the safety zone into the unknown.

So here is a powerful question I invite you to answer…

Are you willing to reach your ultimate level of potential, success and contribution? 

If you are willing, acknowledge that it requires a new way of thinking and an uplevel in your commitment and your actions. 

If you are not willing, are you happy with your reason why? 

If you are willing, as soon as you make a decision to step out of your comfort zone, your subconscious mind goes to work creating scenarios to stop you doing it.

All the stories start. All the doubting voices start. It comes from your lower self.

We must be discerning to identify the stories and tricks that our lower part of our brain starts crafting to try and keep us safe.

It’s not a case of ‘if’ this will happen, but ‘how’ this will happen – it happens every time.

Our lower self even creates blindspots to prevent us from going to the next level.

Blindspots are a result of us deleting information that could actually get us to take action towards our next level.

This is a reason why coaching with another person is so powerful, because they see our blindspots that we don’t see.

This 4-step process seems so simple, we can easily discount it and think a breakthrough hasn’t happened.

So, I want you to be aware of the limiting belief that says “Simple isn’t powerful”.

Or the belief that change is hard and change takes time.

It can take time to outwork change, but a decision can happen in an instant.

This process is so simple, but it can be absolutely game-changing.

If you're not converting it's because of this

When I first started out as a coach, I cringed at the thought of having sales conversations. 

We’ve all been in a sales conversation where we’ve felt that the person doesn’t really care about us and they’re just trying to push a product or the service on us.

I remember being at an event once and the guy said to raise your hand if you’re in sales.

I was a personal trainer at the time, and there were hundreds of us at the event. No one raised their hand. And he said, “Well, if you don’t view yourself as being a salesperson, you’ve already lost the game.”

I got this really icky feeling that I did not want to be known as a salesperson in business.

Over time, what I learned is that when you attract the right people who are a great match for what you’re offering, it doesn’t feel like selling.

It feels like a really enjoyable conversation. When you are authentic, it feels so natural and it just flows.

You don’t have to think about what tactic you will use and how you will overcome objections.

In fact, my clients who use my process tell me they very rarely get objections.

So how do we do this?

If you want to be able to elegantly invite people to work with you and not feel like you’re a salesperson, then learning authentic influence is what will help you convert people into paying clients.

Authentic influence is about caring about what the other person cares about. It’s helping them to make an aligned decision for them to improve their life.

Think about when you’ve had a breakthrough. Often, it’s because you’ve invested in your breakthrough.

You’ve paid to go to a seminar, course or event workshop and you’ve had a breakthrough.

Having a breakthrough feels incredible and breakthroughs happen because we make a decision to take action.

Usually, that decision to take action is because someone has influenced us.

Sales is helping someone who has a problem, and showing them how you can help them solve it.

It’s not about changing someone’s mind. It’s not about convincing.

This takes the pressure off you and means you become excited to tell people what you do.

It’s so important that you know how to sell because that is what helps people improve their lives.

If you want to help more people and make a bigger difference in the world, selling is one of the most important skills that you can develop.

If you’re not converting at least 3 out of 5 sales conversations or more, there’s only one reason…

…what you’re saying is not communicating the value of what you offer to your potential client.

So in this video, I’m sharing exactly why that is, and my secrets to transforming your sales discomfort into confidence.

When it comes to having a sales conversation, there are two different camps that you can be sitting in.

Firstly, you don’t have a structure. There’s no formula to what you’re doing, you’re going with the flow. You’re winging it.

Secondly, you could have a structure or a formula or a script that you’re following, but it’s either not working, it’s not aligned to you, or you’re not fully following it.

If you’re not following the script that you have – that’s a sign it might not be authentic to you.

Sales is a very male-dominated industry.

And a lot of sales people are pushy.

What I’ve discovered from working with thousands of women, is that women want to sell differently.

We’re typically more relational. And we need a way of selling that feels elegant and aligned to us.

From selling my services for 20 years, I’ve discovered that if you want to be successful at enrolling clients, you definitely need a proven formula – but not just any formula – you need the right formula.

There are two issues I see female coaches make when it comes to selling.

Issue 1: Friend-zoning

What a lot of people do Friend-zone – losing a lot of sales

We do that because we don’t know what to say next in a way that doesn’t sound confronting or pushy or sales.

If they’re not following a structure, people go off on tangents and you don’t know how to bring them back.

People don’t feel safe and led – confident that you are organised in your knowledge and you have a clear process to get them a result.

Issue 2: Too Scripted

Following a script – but it’s too rigid – it’s not who you are.

You feel ridiculously uncomfortable and awkward and it feels too forced scripted.

What I realised is that if the script is too rigid, you go into weird energy and people pick up on it.

So there has to be some structure – but also the freedom to be you.

As I started analysing people’s sales processes, I realised that there were gaps.

Some of the gaps I noticed in people who weren’t following a formula were:

They would spend a long time on a call with a potential client, but they didn’t help them make a decision.

They didn’t have conviction that their offer is the next best step for that person to take.

They were very casual and ‘jumped out’ of the conversation when it came to talking about money.

You told them to think about it, or just rushed past the part where you helped them make a decision.

If you want to be friends with this person, be friends with them.

If you want to help them transform their life for the better, make them a great offer and do it boldly.

This could change their life.

Because two humans sharing from the heart shouldn’t feel scripted and robotic.

I like to think of a formula like a chocolate mould. You can pour all different types of chocolates and toppings in there to your hearts content…

…but the framework, the structure stays the same. It makes it easy to follow and enjoyable and effective.

There are 2 solutions for this.

The first is to optimise your offer to make sure that it’s irresistible.

Having an irresistible offer is one of the most important assets you can have in business.

And creating an offer where people clearly see the value (and don’t question the price!) is one of the most important things you can do in business.

Step two is have a formula for sharing your offer that’s authentic, proven and is a toolkit of ideas you can draw from – so you can be creative within your sales conversations, while also knowing that it will convert to clients.

This is why I created the Authentic Enrolment Formula. It’s a perfect blend between being a credible, trustworthy leader, and your authentic, natural self.

It’s not a script, it’s a formula.

This allows you to still be human. And expertly lead people to a solution.

Change this one thing and people will be excited to work with you

Have you ever been in a sales conversation where someone says, “I’ll get back to you” and you never heard from them again?

Or maybe you’ve been in one of those awkward pitch moments where you wanted to exit as fast as possible because you felt uncomfortable?

I’ve totally been there.

But with a few tweaks, that can be a thing of the past.

As coaches, we need the skill of being able to communicate our value in order to get more clients.

If you’re not getting a high conversion rate in your sales calls, if people take a lot of convincing, and are presenting a lot of objections…

…there are some missing elements.

Change this and people will want to work with you

If you have a great offer but it’s still not selling, there’s one essential element to address – which is how YOU feel about your offer.

For people to become genuinely excited to work with you, you need to have a positive relationship with your offer. Because this flows out of you and shows up in your energy.

To have a good relationship with your offer you need conviction.

Having conviction means you have bullet-proof confidence in what you offer.

It’s having an unshakeable knowing; a certainty that your offer can get people results.

In order to increase your conviction about your offer, it’s important to work on your offer itself, as well as your mindset.

There are 8 essential elements I recommend go into an offer – and when you have all the elements of an irresistible offer…

…PLUS you have conviction, you’ll have more people excited to work with you and signing up for your offer.

Imagine if your offer was a complete no-brainer for your ideal client and you had rock-solid conviction when you presented it.

This is possible for you.

The best way to do this is to optimise your offer to make it IRRESISTIBLE so that your ideal client can’t refuse it.

When you have an irresistible offer…

• You stand out in the marketplace

• You want to have more sales conversations

• You have clarity on exactly what people will receive when they invest

• You have the crucial conviction you need to sell it

• More people will convert to clients – which equals more income, more impact and more freedom

Having an irresistible offer is one of the most important assets you can have in business.

And creating an offer where people clearly see the value (and don’t question the price!) is one of the most important things you can spend time on in your business.

Here are some of the highlights of what I shared…

If you don’t know what to fix, it’s really hard to fix it. So, the first step, which applies to all change, is awareness.

Let’s firstly look at where the problem might lie.

How To Identify What To Fix…

If you don’t yet have all the clients you want in your business, there are usually only 3 reasons why.

1. Don’t know, not doing

You don’t know what to do, so you’re not doing it. You’re doing something else, because you don’t know what to focus on

2. Know, but not doing

You know what to do, but you’re not doing it.

Probably because you’re busy and have other things going on right now, or it could be a mindset block, like fear of rejection, success, judgment or getting it wrong.

3. Doing it, but not doing it well

You’re doing the right things, but maybe you haven’t been professionally trained and mentored in how to do it effectively so it works.

Most coaches I meet are amazing at coaching, but they haven’t been professionally mentored in sales and marketing.

Which means the sales and marketing they’re doing is not effective enough.

What a lot of people do in this category, is think that what they’re doing is the wrong thing – and so they go and try something different…

…rather than continuing to improve on what they’re doing.

If you’re doing the right things in the wrong way, we need to keep doing those things, but change how we’re doing them.

Rather than getting distracted and thinking the answer lies over there somewhere.

There are a lot of things we can be doing in our businesses every day.

There is a lot of information online that can be super distracting.

So, what ARE the things we need to be doing and how do we make them effective so we get results?

How do we know what to choose what to focus on?

Let’s simplify it.

When it comes to client attraction, which is something that I’ve been doing for 20 years, I’ve realised that you actually only need 3 things.

It took me a lot of years to realise how simple it is, because I use to over-complicate things.

But thankfully, I finally learned how to strip things back to what works.

So here are the 3 fundamentals of client attraction.

I call them the ABC’s.

Attract
Build trust
Convert

Every day, when you sit down to your computer, think of these 3 ABC’s and ask yourself

1. What am I doing TODAY to attract leads?

2. What am I doing TODAY to build trust with those leads?
Also known as nurturing – looking after people who are potential clients.

3. What am I doing TODAY to convert leads into clients?

The challenge is knowing how to do each of these 3 things well, so that all 3 of them work together and have clients signing up to work with you.

In my recent workshops, the biggest epiphany people said they had was that they were wasting time doing the wrong things, or they were doing the right things, but they still weren’t working.

If this is the case for you, it means we need to look at how you’re doing the things.

The Essential Element That Most Coaches Miss In Their Content Strategy

Are you tired of pouring your heart and soul into creating content, and not getting the response from it that you hoped for?

There’s a better way to grow your client base than just doing more and hoping for the best.

Most coaches recognise the power of content creation in attracting potential clients.

But in today’s competitive online world, getting your content seen has become more challenging than ever.

So many coaches I talk to are frustrated and disappointed because they’re sharing content, but it’s not generating enquiries or leading to bookings.

So, what’s the missing piece in their content strategy?

It’s having a well-thought-out, strategic marketing campaign.

A successful marketing campaign uses multiple pieces of content that strategically guide people along a journey toward signing up for your services.

To make sure your marketing campaign does it’s job, there are some key principles you can follow that work consistently. ⠀

Over my 10-plus year’s experience creating content for my business, I’ve identified some essential elements that contribute to an effective content strategy.

If you miss these elements, it can result in wasted time and missed opportunities.

But once you implement these essentials, which I have shared in my latest video, you can see rapid changes in your business.

Here are five actionable steps you can do straight away:

1. Reverse Engineer Your Content

Like Steven Covey says “Start with the end in mind”

Start with your signature offer and work backward – reverse engineer what people need to know in order to sign up for that offer.

Identify what beliefs your audience currently have, what they need to believe, and what information they need to know about you and your solution.

2. Create Purposeful Content

Every piece of content should serve a specific purpose that leads towards your offer.

Whether it’s to increase engagement, attract new followers, overcome objections, or drive sales, each post should fit into your overarching strategy to attract the right clients.

If your content doesn’t have a purpose, it’s almost impossible for it to achieve the goal of attracting the right clients.

People who read your content often don’t know that they need a coach, and they don’t know that they need your specific program.

Your content needs to show them how you can help them solve their problem.

3. Create a consistent content schedule

I’m not naturally a big content scheduler.

But over time, I’ve seen the value of thoroughly planning out my content as part of a marketing campaign. 

If you don’t have a content schedule, you can get to the end of the week and realise that you haven’t posted much.

A few years ago I decided I was going to commit to doing one main big piece of content each week. I decided to do one video, and then leverage that piece of content.

I upload it to my YouTube channel, so that new people can find it.

It goes into my blog every week so that my website is constantly being updated – because Google loves recency and frequency.

When you have a consistent content schedule, life becomes so much easier.

I trust the system. It’s a process, it’s a habit, and it’s easy to do.

I know when I’m going to create and when I’m going to post.

4. Diversify Your Content

Creating diversity in your content is about mixing up your content types to appeal to different types of people and different stages of their journey. 

We might have one ideal client, but the reality is, you probably want more than just one client, so we need to speak to different types of people with different personalities and learning styles.

We also have multiple beliefs to shift through our content that activate people and inspire them to do something differently.

Every post has a job to do. To attract clients, people need to hear specific messages that activate certain parts of their brain.

The most effective marketing campaigns incorporate a variety of video and written content, and each of them serve a unique purpose.

5. Create a clear content journey

A lot of content on social media, emails, videos and blog posts, exist as a disconnected function rather than as an active part of a funnel.

This means there’s no incentive to do anything after they’ve consumed your content.

When a connection is formed with someone, we can continue to build the relationship and nurture them with more relevant content.

A clear content journey leads your audience through a process towards working with you.

For example, you want to offer a free resource at the end that they can download in exchange for their email address.

Email addresses are gold. People who opt in are a lot warmer because they have said yes to you already.

If these 5 keys are missing in your content strategy, it’s probably a big reason why it’s not enrolling as many clients as you want to.

When you know how to create an effective marketing campaign using compelling content, your marketing becomes easier, faster, and more enjoyable, and you get more clients from it.

Most coaches are great at coaching, but not so great at marketing.
