How I Create Content That Attracts My Ideal Clients & Sells Out My Launches

“How do I find my ideal clients online?”

I get this question a lot from coaches.

Here’s the answer: They are around you right now.

They’re already on your friend list and following you. The problem isn’t finding them; it’s that your content is not compelling them.

So, instead of asking, “Where can I find clients?” ask, “How can I engage the potential clients in my audience?”

Adding more people to your friend list or group won’t help if your content is not compelling the people you already have.

If your content isn’t resonating, the problem is not that people don’t want what you offer.

It’s likely because your content is not communicating in a way that makes people see you as someone who can solve their problem.

Or you’re not communicating in a way that compels your ideal clients to take action.

Are you spending hours on content creation, and feeling overwhelmed or frustrated by it not leading to clients?

In this video, I’ll show you exactly how to shift from struggling with content to consistently generating new leads.

Here are 3 ways to create content that attracts your ideal clients and sells out your launches.

1. Master the art of compelling language

Compelling language makes people stop and look.

Repelling language makes people scroll past.

There are certain words and phrases that compel your ideal clients and certain words and phrases that repel them.

What makes language compelling?

It appeals to the subconscious desires that your audience has.

A Harvard study showed that 95% of our buying decisions are made subconsciously.

There are loads of subconscious desires that already exist in the minds of our ideal clients.

There are words and phrases you can use that trigger an emotional response.

So, what I do, is have a messaging document, all my clients do as well, and it has them all in one place. So that’s our go-to when it comes to creating content.

There are 4 driving forces that compel people to take action

  • Frustrations
  • Fears
  • Desires
  • Dreams

A lot of people think they know their ideal clients, but when I look at their content and ask them: “Do they actually say those words to you?”, in a lot of cases, they don’t.

A lot of people are getting their language from AI now, not from the actual humans in the way the say things.

And this can be tricky to do if you’ve been working in your industry for a while because we can forget the actual language that we used before we learned everything we know now.

To make content more compelling, add curiosity, surprise, and specificity. Make it tangible so people can imagine it.

Here are a few simple examples of content that I’ve made some tweaks to, to make it more compelling.

BEFORE – ‘3 Ideas For Healthy Lunches’. You might make some content like this is you are a health coach. It does the job, but it’s a bit bland.

AFTER – ‘3 Instant Cures For Boring Healthy Lunches.’

It’s a very simple tweak, but makes a big difference.

This is a simple example that shows you just how easily you can take some words and just make a headline pop.

BEFORE – ‘How To Be More Effective At Content Creation.’  This is fine. It does the job. But just adding a fine tweak we can make it stand out.

AFTER – ‘5 Surprising Ways To Make Your Content 3x More Engaging

Our brains love surprise. our brain loves novelty. The brain also loves curiosity, so using the word ‘surprise’ hooks people in.

BEFORE – ‘I’ll show you how to set goals for your relationship, and make sure they happen.’

AFTER – ‘You’ll pick up my unique relationship reset roadmap so you can finally achieve the deep connection you want to have with your partner.

When you name things and make them a formula, a roadmap, a blueprint, a method or pillars, you’re organising your knowledge and you’re putting a framework around it.

This adds curiosity and also appeals to the need we have for organised, structured knowledge.

When you structure and name your resources, they are no longer just tips, they become a tangible tool.

BEFORE – ‘I’ll show you how to create a successful bedtime routine’

AFTER –  ‘Learn my proven strategies for a successful bedtime routine, so you can finally enjoy tear-free story time every night.’

Little tweaks can make a huge difference.

2. Share pain killers not vitamins

A vitamin is something that’s good for you. We take them for a future health benefit.

Often we forget to take them

We think we should

We don’t notice if we miss it

It’s preventive

Vitamin content is missed. It makes people tune out.

If you have an extremely debilitating headache, you don’t need reminding or convinced or advertised to – you go looking for a pain killer.

What is the pain your people are in?

What is the pain killer that your clients are looking for?

And how can you provide that for them?

That’s when people stop on your content.

To create pain-killer content that people consume, share in a way that shows people why they need something they currently don’t have.

3. Help People Overcome Barriers to Action

One of my clients said to me once; “Kat, I’m thinking I need to post more funny stuff on my Facebook business page, because the funny stuff gets the most likes.”

I’m not sure if you’ve fallen into that trap before, but engagement is not the goal.

Engagement (while it helps some) isn’t everything. The most important question is whether you’re getting actual CLIENTS from your content.

Attention does not mean sales. The more attention you have, is there a greater possibility that it makes sense we have more eyeballs on you? Absolutely.

Some of my clients have referenced content of mine as the reason why they signed up with me. And some of that content that got very little engagement (and that they themselves didn’t engage with)

So, the first step is to get more eyeballs on us, but then we have to keep them there.

You want to ensure your content helps people to actually take action to change their life, not just to entertain them.

‘How To’ videos are everywhere on the internet. It’s the most searched term on Google. But we’ve got to remember, that it’s not just about people learning, it’s about people doing. It’s about people taking action on what you’re teaching them.

When you’re thinking about your content, ask yourself;

‘How can I help people overcome their resistance to making a change?’

‘How can I have them overcome their biggest objections to taking action on what I’m sharing?’

Creating compelling content is a skill use your content to overcome them. And it’s a skill that anyone can develop.

Over the last 8 years, I’ve been helping coaches all over the world using my signature formula to create compelling content that gets clients.

When you know how to create compelling content, your marketing becomes easier, faster, and more enjoyable, and you show up with more confidence.

You connect better with your ideal clients and you attract more of the right clients into your business that you can help.

And this is why I created a 1-day workshop called ‘How To Get Clients With Compelling Content.’

The Reason Why 80% Of Your Audience Is Not Responding To Your Content

Do you ever wonder why your content isn’t getting more responses?

You spend ages crafting your content, but when you share it, it can feel like barely anyone notices.

It’s so disappointing when you put countless hours in, and it doesn’t get the results you wanted. Especially if you have no idea why.

In this video, I share why 80% of your audience is not responding to your content – and how to fix it.

Most coaches I know are great at coaching. They’re skilled at transforming lives, offering guidance, and helping people overcome challenges.

But they find it tricky to showcase the value of what they offer in their content.

It’s Not About the Algorithm

Many people blame the algorithm when their content doesn’t perform well.

While the algorithm plays a role, the bigger issue usually lies in what you’re saying and how you’re saying it.

For years, we’ve been taught that sharing valuable tips and information is the key to attracting clients.

However, this approach alone isn’t enough. Your content needs to do more than just inform; it needs to transform.

The Real Reason Your Content Isn’t Working

The reason why 80% or more of your audience is not responding to your content is because it’s not compelling enough to inspire action.

Whether that’s having people register for your workshop, book a strategy session, or invest in your services.

So how do we turn this around?

We need to speak below the surface.

Most people are speaking to the tip of the iceberg – not to the real drivers that happen under the surface.

Compelling content operates at a deeper level than just sharing ‘tips’.

People who invest in coaching generally aren’t just looking for ‘tips’ – they can find those on Google or YouTube.

It’s not just about sharing value; it’s about understanding the psychological forces that influence decision-making.

The good news is that there’s a simple, yet powerful shift you can make in your content strategy to start seeing the results you want.

The Power of Motivational Drivers

These forces, known as motivational drivers, dictate how people make decisions when they consume content.

Compelling content speaks to the subconscious mind, and addresses the underlying motivations that drive people to take action.

When your content aligns with these motivational drivers, your audience is much more likely to respond.

When your content speaks directly to these drivers, it resonates with them on a deeper level, making your audience more likely to engage and take action.

These drivers are universal, however, each person has a unique combination that influences their behaviour.

When you understand what deeply drives and motivates your ideal clients specifically, you can embed them into your content strategy, and start to see the impact immediately.

It’s the difference between getting a few likes and comments, and compelling people to click, sign up, or reach out to work with you.

There are many reasons why people take action, but from thousands of conversations with coaches over many years, I’ve identified 7 key motivational drivers that inspire action.

When you’re strategic with your content, you can use your content to inspire people take the next step.

The better you do this in your content, the less you have to ‘sell’ because your content does a lot of the heavy lifting for you.

There are many reasons why people take action, but from thousands of conversations with coaches over many years, I’ve identified 7 key motivational drivers that inspire action.

Here are the 7 key motivational drivers that can help you create content that converts to clients:
1. Achievement

This driver is all about accomplishment and success. People who are motivated by achievement value competence, expertise, and the feeling of mastering something.

They are lit up by setting and achieving goals.

In your content, speak to how working with you will help them achieve even greater success and mastery.

You can usually see if someone has this driver if they have trophies they’ve won, or a lot of certifications. If they study something deeply to a mastery level. They love being excellent at what they do. They read books about success.

If your ideal client has this driver, in your content speak to how working with you will give them even greater success and achievement.

2. Belonging

Belonging is the need for social connection, community, and trust. People who are highly motivated by belonging seek deep relationships and a sense of camaraderie.

In your content, highlight how your program or service creates a greater sense of community and belonging.

3. Growth

Growth is the desire to learn, improve, and overcome challenges. People motivated by growth are always looking for ways to enhance their skills and knowledge.

I think of the clients in my community who come to every workshop I run. They’re at every event, and every mastermind call they possibly can. They are hungry to learn.

They love to overcome challenges, and have the feeling progress.

The aspiration to continue to become more highly skilled or knowledgeable.

If your ideal client has this driver, in your content emphasise how your coaching or services will help them grow and progress.

4. Impact

Impact is the desire to make a positive difference in the world.

People motivated by impact want to influence change and help others transform.

It’s a deep motivation to serve, and it’s often driven by a sense of empathy and compassion.

If your ideal client has this driver, showcase how your coaching enables them to have a greater impact on their clients, communities, or causes they care about.

5. Independence

Independence is the need for freedom and autonomy. People motivated by independence are self-determined and love the ability to make their own choices.

This is a strong need for freedom and the ability to make our own choices.

Pretty much all of my clients have this driver. It’s a big reason why they’re entrepreneurs.

If your ideal client has this driver, in your content speak to how your coaching can provide them with more freedom, flexibility, and control over their lives.

6. Recognition

Recognition is the desire for acknowledgment, praise, and validation. People motivated by recognition seek approval from others and value being appreciated for their contributions. In your content,

If your ideal client has this driver, in your content highlight how your services will help them gain the recognition they deserve.

7. Security

Security is the need for safety, stability, and predictability.

People motivated by security look for reassurance and a sense of protection. In your content,

The need for safety, protection, and predictability.

People with this driver seek reassurance and a sense of stability.

If your ideal client has this driver, in your content focus on how your coaching can provide them with the stability and confidence they need to move forward.

Why Understanding These Drivers Matters

While these drivers are universal, each person has a unique combination that influences their behaviour.

When your content speaks directly to these drivers, it resonates on a deeper level, making your audience more likely to engage and take action.

Imagine the difference between content that simply shares information and content that speaks to the core desires of your audience.

The former might get a few likes or comments, but the latter compels people to click, sign up, or reach out to work with you.

When you know how to use these motivational drivers to create compelling content, your content creation becomes easier, faster, and more enjoyable.

You connect better with your ideal clients and you attract more of the right clients consistently.

The good news is, this is a skill that anyone can develop.

It’s the difference between getting a few likes and comments, and compelling people to click, sign up, or reach out to work with you.

That’s the power of understanding and using motivational drivers in your content.

Your content creation becomes easier, faster, and more enjoyable.

How To Get Coaching Clients With Compelling Content

Want to get more coaching clients consistently?

Over the last 10+ years, my best strategy for attracting ideal clients has been sharing compelling content.

But in today’s saturated and competitive online world, getting your content seen is more challenging than ever.

So many coaches I speak to are frustrated because they’re sharing content, but not getting the engagement, enquiries, and sign-ups they want.

It can feel pretty discouraging when your content doesn’t get the attention you deserve.

In this video, I share how to get more clients from your content and to turn your content into consistent cashflow.

From working with thousands of business owners, I’ve discovered there are 4 main problems that most people have when it comes to getting clients from their content.

1. Posting without a strategy

If you don’t have an effective content strategy, you might be posting content randomly or only when you feel inspired, which doesn’t lead people along a journey to buy from you.

There’s no overarching plan to lead people to becoming a client.

If you don’t have an effective strategy, people can think “oh that’s nice” but not necessarily be inspired to buy from you.

2. You’re not an expert copywriter

Most coaches are brilliant at coaching, but aren’t marketers.

They don’t have expert copywriting skills so sadly, most of what they create doesn’t get seen by many people.

3. You don’t have an effective structure

A content structure helps more people to This is about knowing what to say and how to say it so that you can attract the right people, build trust and inspire ideal clients to work with you.

This is the actual structure within each content piece.

4. You’re trying to figure it out on your own

Without expert support, we can end up second guessing ourselves. We can end up overthinking things and waste a lot of time.

The whole process of content creation can feel mysterious.

So how you can overcome these problems?

There are 4 things you need to get coaching clients with compelling content:
1. An effective strategy

When you have an effective content strategy, you stop stressing and finally feel confident because you know what to share – because you have an organised, effective content strategy.

The point of posting is not to just post – the point is to lead people along a journey to build trust – so that the right people get a clear understanding of how valuable your service is and want to become a client.

Otherwise you’re a poet, or a non-profit or someone who inspires but doesn’t sell.

Which is fine if that’s what you want to do. But if you want to convert your content into clients, you need a strategic approach.

Without a strategy, you can constantly wonder what to post and maybe do it last minute.

Or you keep posting the same type of content, which is not enough to get clients.

The most important part of your strategy is that it’s personalised for you.

It’s not something you’ve got from google or ChatGPT or copied from someone else – it considers your unique business, your lifestyle, your preferences and how you want to show up.

It considers factors like how often you want to share content, what platforms you want to share on, what’s the most effective types of content for you and your audience.

2. Compelling content skills

There’s a way of using your content to get clients that’s backed up by science.

It’s the skill of inspiring people to take action through your words – which is also known as copywriting.

I work with a lot of women who are brilliant writers and quite a few authors. I worked with a lady called Jen she’s written eight books. She’s an incredible writer. But Jen was struggling to get her content to lead to clients because writing and copywriting are two different skills.

Copywriting is writing for marketing and sales. Copywriting is where you write to inspire people to buy. You write to influence.

It’s about inspiring people get what they truly want, overcome their limitations, and be the version of themselves they want to be.

It involves understanding how the brain processes information.

Knowing how to get attention with catchy hooks, build tension, curiosity and desire, and keep people engaged til the end.

Copywriting I believe is one of the most underrated skills you can have when it comes to attracting clients.

We’re not born with this skill – we need to develop it.

The more you develop your copywriting skills, the more money you’ll make and the more people you can help.

When you have these skills, you never have to worry about where to get money and clients from anymore, because you’ve built the skillset.

Trends come and go – this is the skill that makes you money for years to come.

3. A compelling content structure

Having a structure gives you clear guidelines to follow. It’s like having a recipe – you’ve got the ingredients and method, but you can also be creative and do it your way.

This is about the order of how we organise our words for the greatest impact.

Testing and measuring is vital in marketing. But we also don’t want to get to waste a whole lot of time where you’re trying everything and nothing’s working.

This is where a structure can make a huge difference.

This is about knowing what to say and how to say it so that it resonates with the right people, builds trust and inspires ideal clients to work with you.

It’s the journey that you take people on – from the title to the opening sentence, making sure you tick all the boxes of what the brain needs to know, through to what you want them to do at the end through a call to action.

4. Compelling content support

With expert support, we stop second guessing ourselves. We stop overthinking things and wasting time.

The journey is much easier and much faster with expert support guiding you every step of the way helps you stop the procrastination and get more high-quality content out there.

It means you can trust that what you’re putting out is quality and it’s going to work.

When you have an effective compelling content strategy, the skills, the structure and the support, your marketing content becomes easier, faster, and more enjoyable, and most importantly – it works.

When you know how to create truly compelling content, you can…

* Be confident you can turn on the tap of clients when you need them

* Trust that your content is working for you even when you sleep

* Nurture your audience using credibility, trust and connection, so people are more ready to buy

* Attract more aligned and committed clients

* Know that you’re building an audience which is a valuable asset – a community of potential clients

If you don’t love selling, the better your content is, the less sales you have to do.

Compelling content is the key not having to chase and attracting amazing clients.

If you want to know exactly how to do this, I want to invite you to my upcoming

How To Keep Showing Up In Your Business When Things Don’t Work Out As Planned

This has been a topic of a lot of my conversations with my friends and clients lately.

Whether it was…

… a failed launch

… an event where not many (if any!) people registered or showed up

… or anything you feel disappointed about in your business…

How do we bounce back? How do we get motivated again to get back up and keep going?

I unpack this in this video:

If you have been in business for a while, you’ve probably experienced some things not going as you planned.

You put in a whole heap of effort, and you didn’t get the result you wanted, and it feels like a total disappointment.

If you’re feeling like this, you’re not alone.

Here are 3 ways to keep showing up in your business when things don’t work out as planned:
1. Think like a great leader

We are so quick to criticise what went wrong and slip into blame mode – blaming ourselves, blaming others, blaming tech, blaming the algorithm – but blaming doesn’t grow us or get us what we want. It keeps us in victim mode.

The hardest truth that I learned about this, but the most empowering, is that when something doesn’t work, there’s always something I can change.

And it’s my job to figure it out.

It’s not the algorithm’s job. It’s not my audience’s job. It’s my job.

This is good news. It means we can do something about it. It means we can switch on. We can get determined. We can pick ourselves back up.

Because we got into our business to have freedom – not to be trapped and miserable.

My word for the year is leadership and at the start of the year I wrote a list of the traits of great leaders:

  • Leaders ask hard questions
  • Leaders endure the hardships
  • Leaders are willing to show up no matter how they feel
  • Leaders celebrate success and honour effort
  • Leaders take high level responsibility

This is the harder way. And that’s why so few people do it.

But if you are the type of person that keeps going UNTIL she finds a way – you’ll find a way.

A leader says – I’ll find a way. I’ll make a way.

“Everything is up to me” is not easy – but it’s super empowering.

2. Reframe fast

If you’ve had a disappointment like a launch or event not giving you the results you wanted, it’s easy to slip into ‘poor me’ victim mode.

If you stay stuck dwelling on how disappointed you are, how hard business is, how bad the economy is or how saturated the market is, you’ll just feel bad.

And like attracts like – you’ll attract more of that energy to you.

But here’s the truth about entrepreneurship: not everything has to work the first time. Or even the fifth or tenth time.

The mentality “Everything I do has to work perfectly or I’m not going to do it” puts way too much pressure on yourself.

Here is an example of reframing fast. This is a conversation I had with a client recently about her event.

She messaged me –

“First event is done, only one person came but left. Actually, one other person I didn’t know popped in for less than a minute, and left straight away. Probably saw only one other person there and freaked out. I just treated it like a practice run. Was really helpful! I’m journaling now to process it xx

I replied with –

“WELL DONE!!! Proud of you! Great mindset! It’s all about the meaning we give it! This will be a story you will tell. You’ve created an incredibly valuable asset!!! It’s going to make you a lot of money and help a lot of people! We will keep tweaking and refining until it gets you the results you want.”

Then after her second event –

“Four people came. One left halfway. Feeling a bit disappointed at the turnout but I’ll just get your input on improving going forward. No one showed interest in my program but I sold with SUCH conviction thinking “Man, my program is amazing!!!” I could hear the passion and conviction. I gave away two prizes of sessions with me, and I’ll connect with the others too. It’s only a matter of tiiiiime.

Tomorrow is another day! Already excited to do my next one!!”

Perfect example of reframing fast!

3. Mine for the gold

Firstly, focus on the learnings and growth that came from that experience.

Then, look for the improvements that can be made.

You can’t throw a whole strategy away if it doesn’t work straight away.

There are so many factors to get right for something to work.

I’ve had people say to me things like “I tried an event, it didn’t work”. Or “I tried Facebook ads, they didn’t work” – and they’ve just left it at that.

The problem was not the strategy – the problem was that they didn’t mine for the gold.

All the little iterations you make add up and create success.

If I do an event that flops – even though I worked my butt off – I need to figure out what the problem was.

Was it the messaging? The design? The video marketing? The marketing posts? The way I presented? My confidence? The offer?

Essentially, we identify exactly what the problem is and the clear steps to solve it.
