Want to get more people to register for your events?
Would you like to know the secrets to creating an event landing page that inspires the right people to sign up?
In this video, I reveal the top 3 most important, yet overlooked elements to include to increase your registration numbers.
If you miss these steps, you risk missing out on people coming, even if the event could have been really beneficial for them.
Over the last 8 years creating hundreds of landing pages, I’ve discovered there are 3 main mistakes I see people making with their landing pages which is costing them registrations.
1. The first mistake is not using a proven, specific structure in their event landing page
An event landing page is very different from a landing page that you use for a lead magnet.
With an event, we’re asking for people’s time and attention, which are so valuable.
An event needs a lot more explanation, benefits, breaking down of limiting beliefs, and building desire, than for example a lead magnet landing page.
I have a checklist with 22 elements that I recommend go into an event landing page.
You can access the event landing page checklist here.
2. The second big mistake people is making their event landing page too short
There’s a saying in marketing – it’s never too long, it’s only too boring.
Here’s the truth – there’s no overwhelm if there is a clear and interesting flow.
Your event landing page needs to include all the elements that show someone why it’s worth taking the time to attend.
3. The third mistake people make is having their outcomes too generic
If you’re too general and high-level in your copy, people won’t get a sense that it’s designed specifically for them with their unique circumstances.
When the copy is more specific, your landing page will create the necessary desire, tension, and curiosity needed for someone to invest time in signing up and attending.
So, here are 3 essential things you need to do in your landing pages to maximise registrations:
1. Position your unique system
To stand out and be an in-demand coach, we need to have a methodology when we’re working with people.
When you run an event, it’s important to showcase the system you teach, whether that’s a roadmap, a formula, a blueprint, or a framework. This creates curiosity and desire.
People love to see organised knowledge. Value is when someone becomes more organised around a topic.
What equals registrations is people feeling that they are going to learn something I didn’t know before, and that’s going to make them more organised around the topic you’re sharing about.
2. Share what makes your event different
This is where you create unique names for what they’re going to learn. This shows them that they can’t get it anywhere else.
Not google, not ChatGPT, not on your website, literally only at the event.
We need to be able to show people through our event landing page the unique and tangible tools they’re going to get.
3. Overcome potential common objections about the topic
When you think about the solution you’re providing for people about your topic, there’s usually something in the way of getting it – a reason why they haven’t achieved that result already.
What do people NOT have to do to achieve the result you’re promising?
Think about it like this – your ideal client is thinking – consciously or otherwise “I want X, but Y is in the way”.
For example, “I want to have a deeper connection with my partner, but I’m scared to have a conversation with them about it because I don’t want an argument”,
or “I want to be less reactive and manage stress better, but I don’t have time to deal with my underlying baggage”,
or “I want to get a flatter stomach, but I don’t want to have to cook clean meals every night”.
It’s important that we include these in the copy of our landing page.
Maybe they want to…
* Get more attendees at their events WITHOUT using pushy, aggressive sales tactics.
* Fit their jeans again WITHOUT doing hours of boring cardio every week.
* Find their dream partner WITHOUT spending hours a day on dating apps.
Make sure you include this in the copy of your landing page.
